I am an 84 y.o retired psychiatrist,.multimedia artist, musician, and poet who presents experimental msuic shorts. I create videos of dynamic abstract images from various mediums, including paintings, digital art, photography, and video. The music is freely improvised using keyboards, iPads, and synthesizers, evolving to surprise even myself. I love exploring different media and techniques, since learning to improvise on the piano since childhood. My goal is to create an aesthetic that combines these elements.

Through Composed Piano Free Improv
I just found out that the music I create is "through composed" i.e., no repeats which happens naturally when I improvise a piece moving to the next part paying attention to the feelings of what went before. Careful listening becomes the key. The graphics also evolve as I put colors and shapes down.

Two Paintings Curved

As I looked at two of my abstract paintings together, I wondered how they might work in a video with some Procreate alterations. I curved the images and added a free improv music piece I completed a few days ago. I like the more vibrant colors I can get with curving the image's gamma, i.e. all three channels, red, green and blue at the same time.

First Light

I woke to a beautiful sunrise, recorded some music and wrote a poem. The light was strange and the day turned very gray.(not shown) The poem has the absurdity of Beckett waiting for Godot. But of course the boats were waiting for no one. The drums from Triaz Core Library was Lofish.
Two Paintings Live

Ipad Guitar

I improvised the guitar melody using a Gb pentatonic against piano music also in Gb which I also improvised. Geoshred in the Ipad is wonderful because you can modify the sound with different pressures creating a more realistic guitar sound.. The images are based on two paintings I manipulated using Procreate and Final Cut Pro.

I created the images, music and video today. I was exploring Barry Harris's dim6 scales and improvising over it with the Roli Seaboard Rise and Ipad Geoshred. The images were created with Ipad Procreate.
