    I too was quite lost with the "Bisto" thing. Not being from a 'Britishy' kind of place, but none-the-less interested in the recipe, I didn't know this word at all. Is it a brand name of a specific product? A colloquial term for something with a more general way to say what it is? I'm guessing it is some sort of soup, stock or gravy powder. or maybe a bullion thing?

    • @mumshelpfultips9252
      @mumshelpfultips9252 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi sorry 'Bisto' is a brand of gravy powder. I should have made it clear what it was. So you can use any type of gravy granules or make fresh gravy and add in.

    • @haytguugle8656

      @@mumshelpfultips9252 Great! Thanks for the clarification. Lots of things get referred to by a particular brand name of a version of the item, and it's often regional or local. Q-tips, Jello, Gold Bond, Band-Aid, Kleenex, colloquial to mostly the U.S. - and of course - Google, just to name a few. Brand names that are used as generic reference regardless of the actual brand being used. 🙂 Oh, and I guess Vegemite might also qualify, yes?

    I think I've cracked my cooking, onions need to be diced and small like that to be slowly fried this makes it a thickening and a tasting agent. I don't have any Bisto, but I added some sausage casserole mix which is tasty and slightly thickening,. I've got goat burghers and also lamb mince to make one meal a burger, one meal a goat and lamb stew and one a lamb curry. I have some pork stock cubes for a change

    Just a little hint. Don't say Bisto when commenting. Change the word to GRAVY powder. Gravy mix is world wide but BISTO is just a brand for many products in the UK. We do not have it here in Australia. Also the word anythig does not have a "k" on the end. So many people in the UK say anythingk instead of anythng. I hate seeing the English language abused

    You seem like such a lovely person that I really wanted to tell you about spinach being bad for you. Spinach is very high-oxalate and should not really be eaten by anyone (likewise rhubarb, beetroot and chard). oxalates are insidious and the disease comes not straight away but over time. You are setting yourself up for a retirement with stiff joints, aches and pains and grogginess; perhaps even gallbladder and kidney issues. You can swap for cabbage which is much better for you, or a more straight swap would be wilted watercress. thanks for a great tip for casseroling potatoes in liquid!!
