Bro switched from maths to philosophy. True mathematician
Man, I love matt
this dude is so humble, he had to excuse himself at 3 years old for not having a formal education lol
KEEP THIS INTERVIEW SERIES UP PLEASE
In his coaching center in Kuala Lumpur, did he progress through at the normal pace or did he accelerate? Why did he graduate late? Which year of school was he in when he first participated? How did he start getting tutored by Tan Kean An and Ivan Chan? Does he ever plan to share his google doc? I would love a part 2 with some of these questions.
Wonderful interview! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks !
Damn this changed my whole view on olympiad maths. Gold content
Thanks !
But why isnt 4 multiplied by the ratio
You can never break an olympiad
If you are a genius you can. Some guy from Romania was 3 times on IMO, and he got 3 perfect scores, so some people can break an olympiad.
@sebgor2319 he would tell you otherwise. He would know the true potential of correct answers that don't get accounted for.

im from Malaysia, unfortunately of the school education here SUCK at teaching math, having such a talented Mathematician from Malaysia is such an asset! Good advice!
It is the same worldwide, a good math student should study by himself

would Jer Ren mind sharing the google doc where he writes down notes
That would be insanely helpful
Great Idea ! I will ask him.

He said yes ! He will need sometime to get it ready.

Great idea, thanks for suggesting it. I am not sure I can do that for an already uploaded video. I will try that moving forward !

Although maths are very interesting to many of us, and some even go as far as to study them at university, we need to keep in mind that, taking into consideration the fact that we live in a complex society, it is important to have a broader education and broader interests. Specifically, it is important to be up to date with the news, to constantly be learning about useful stuff for our life and societies, and to look after our health and to exercise.

Yes
😢Yeahhh i dont get whats he saying, really trying to understand how to do math better cause im terribly suffering at math in uni now
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with university math. Here are some strategies that might help: - Practice Regularly - Connect Concepts: Try to link new topics with concepts you've already learned. Understanding how different areas of math are interconnected can make it easier to grasp complex ideas. - Analyze Past Exams - Practice Regularly

Hello, so one of the tips for developing mathematical intuition is to write a journal about the journey to the solution? Such as, first understanding the problem, if there is not enough theory knowledge, gather and revise them from notes. Then try to solve the problem in the first intuition idea, and repeat it for 2-4 threshold times. If solved write the journey of idea how you come to the solution and revise it later. If not solved then see the solution and try to understand how the author constructed or find a way to the solution right? But how to deeply analyze it? What are the other techniques I could use?
Yes, journaling your problem-solving journey is an excellent way to build intuition. To analyze deeply, focus on identifying patterns or structures within the solution path, like recurring strategies (e.g., symmetry, invariants) or common manipulations (e.g., substitutions, reductions). Compare different approaches, reflecting on why one worked better, and try to generalize the solution techniques to other problems. You might also reverse-engineer solutions by tweaking parameters to see what breaks or still holds, or by analyzing what key insights made the solution possible and when they became apparent.
This is rather bad advice because it assumed a lot about the viewer. I do not like the framing and stance of this TH-cam part.
What do you mean by mod4,8 and 16?
for 4 , it is applying modulo 4 to the equation.
@@MathWisdom42but how is the remainder related to this equation
@@chadmongoose that's a classical technique to show that there are no solution, take for example : X^2 - 2 = 0, are there any integer solutions? well if you take it mod 4 you get X^2 = 2 mod(4) which is not possible because a square is either 1 or 0 mod 4 ( you can prove it by considering the cases: X odd or X even) Hence we conclude that there are no integer solutions.
I managed to solve turbo the snail problem while watching this video. It was like a Ted puzzle. The answer is 3. I think the problem was esy and simple so it stumped many students who thought it to be super-hard seeing the level of the exam.
Jer Ren Wong TOP G let's go Bro
Very interesting! We want to see more of this guy!
We definitely need to give more spotlight to brilliant minds like him! ✨ Genius often feels like a mysterious force, but it's fascinating to see how intuition plays such a crucial role in it. Intuition can be elusive-something that seems almost magical-but it can be trained and sharpened, and that's exactly what we need to demystify. Through conversations like these, we can better understand how intuition develops and how we, too, can nurture it in our own thinking. Aladin, your videos are becoming increasingly insightful, offering a rare window into the minds of math geniuses. Keep up the incredible work-you're inspiring many of us to think deeper, dream bigger, and believe in the power of nurturing our own genius. 👏🔥
Limiting what you retain from a problem to the one core idea clears out all the noise around it.
Math intuition builds up through putting in the hard work and diving deep into tough problems! 🔥
