This is reminiscent of my grandfather. He was the head of the house but what was different was that my grandma always had the final say. Every time he said 'my decision is final!' he would look at my grandmother for permission. I remember asking him if he was the head of the house how come he had to look at my grandma for approval and he said that 'I'm the head but your grandmother is the one in charge of the house'. I miss him so much.
