Team Associated MT12 Monster Van Full Available Upgrades and 70% Diff Lock.
มุมมอง 751วันที่ผ่านมา
In this episode we take the MT12 and install all available upgrades from STRC and we remove the diffs and nearly lock them so it acts more like a real monster truck. This was a great decision to do to this truck. Included in this video is a full shock build as well as the STRC shock set requires quite a but of the old shock internals to function. The extra flex this thing gets is also fantastic!

    • @CombustionRCofficial
      @CombustionRCofficial 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      For the internal I just used a small amount of the same Racers Edge black grease that I used on the ring and pinion gears as the diff is not a sealed diff. If you were to use anything else it would just ooze out and go everywhere. About a week after this video was recorded I did go get some and then reinstall the rear diff.

    What shock rebuild kit fits the pro2 sc10? I just bought one and after one lap, the front left shock blew a seal. Also what upgraded shocks are available that are a direct fit?

    • @CombustionRCofficial
      @CombustionRCofficial 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Unusual to blow a seal, especially that quick. But the Factory Team X ring kit is the best option for the bottom half and helps the smoothness drastically. It’s also a cheap upgrade at $15 for the kit for all 4 shocks. If you’re looking for a better all around replacement shock assembly, the kit shocks from the SC6.4 are amazing, and for top line performance pair them with MIP or Schelle bevel pistons and the Factory Team kashima coated shocks and TiN coated shafts for butter smooth action. That comes with a hefty price tag at over $150 a pair for complete but that does also up to 13mm shocks. Another option is find the factory team kashima bodies for the SC5m on eBay as they were 12mm and will fit the RTR components. Hope that helps.

    The Pro4 SC10 is a nice truck, really like mine. What do you think of the Pro2 SC10 rtr, compared with other 2wd short coarse rtr trucks.

    • @CombustionRCofficial
      @CombustionRCofficial หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love the pro2, but also for nastalgia reasons as my first competition vehicle was the original SC10 in the brushless variation. That being said, compared to the likes of the Slash or the Granite, it’s far and above. The brushless system is very smooth that’s in it, tires suck as all RTR do for a track, but the servo has enough torque to whip off the big double at our local track. It’s LCG, uses all the newer nylon and bigger turnbuckle parts from the B5/T5 series vehicles, and the clip shocks are 12mm verses the old SC10’s 10mm. The caps are a harder nylon onto the aluminum body so they don’t snap off like Traxxas, the diff is very smooth and after putting 7k in it felt more like a tightened down ball diff, and the adjustability is great. I was able to even add Ackerman angle for running on carpet through the winter. For the $330 price (w/o batter/charger;$399 with) it’s definitely far and behind the slash or granite. The only thing that broke after my big weekend, plus 2 races, plus my dad running in rookie twice, was the plastic bumper spring brace piece. Oh and it has steel cvd’s instead of plastic driveshafts. All in all, it’s probably the best racing 2wd RTR out there. Plus, it has the advantage of having easy to get parts that are quite affordable. Yeah it doesn’t have the warranty on electronics that the granite has, but I personally find Reedy electronics to be of better quality. I have a review of the PRO2 SC10 as well as some build things and track footage and a race weekend vlog (no personal racing footage until I can get a go pro unfortunately). The only downfall of it compared to some high end race kits, is the fact it’s very light. We had 20mph winds during the big race and at one point a gust picked me up and had my bicycling down the front stretch before eventually tossing me off the track. That was the only issue I had. Second race out I held the lead the whole main until the last half a lap and the leader and I were 27 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, total of 19 trucks there that night so it’s quite competitive when it’s not windy.

However, this series is for folks who don’t have more than $250 to spend, or may be looking for something smaller, or slower for indoor, or maybe a kids first car. I wouldn’t give my 5yo a mt10 as that would end up in it destroyed, or the house destroyed in minutes. For an adult that has $500 after batteries for the mt10, go for it.
