I'm so grateful to my mom, who indulged my obsession at the time, and drove me to a few different McDonald's locations to try and get all the different pieces. Like you, I was only missing the watch and the multi-tool leg. Unfortunately, I never managed to collect them all, which I was heartbroken over. But then I went ahead and bought the complete figure on eBay several years ago and the kid in me was ecstatic! 🥹 Great video 👍🏼

In my area ( middle of Missouri ) Power Glove was costing around $100 and came in a really cool case. My cousin had it and tried to show me the instruction manual to get my reaction it. I remember thinking it very cool then my eyes started to glaze over... : - )

I got one on clearance at Kmart. It was so bad! Most games were unplayable. I blame The Wizard.

It was ahead of its time. Mattel could not get the censors right at a reasonable price. The glove they used to model the Power Glove actually worked but cost thousands of dollars. I couldn't get my mom or dad to buy me a Neo Geo AES, so what chance would a 5,000 dollar glove have? ;) Now, would'nt it be neat if an indy developer decided to fix the Power Glove? It could definitely be done today fairly cheaply.

When I was a little boy I used to dream about this, I saved money, and one day I went to the store ready to get it, I got it and in the exact moment I wanted to pay, I realized I had no money, i should have dropped on the street or something. That is such a beautiful gift your uncle made for you. It shows to me that you were very close to him as a kid. Because he not only had to know that you loved this movie, but he also had to watch it, pause it, and study it. Because back then, you couldn't just go online and look up pictures. He actually had to physically play the VHS, pause it, and examine and scrutinize the cupboard. Possibly even take a picture of it, from the television, and have it developed. Then construct his own blueprint, and actually build it. Very talented. And I doubt as a kid, you even fathomed all the work he had to put into this. But here you are now, honoring your uncle's work.

The playback issue is probably due to the drive belt inside starting to break down. If you record with the switch in Slow, you can play it back in normal and it will playback fast. We also had a Talkboy FX which was an oversized pen that did the same thing without the cassette and had some sound effects.

The toy I always wanted was a wafflebot from harold and Kumar christmas.

These were cool. They need to bring these back
