제가 이 곡을 들은 게 70년대 후반이었습니다. 그 전까지는 지미 헨드릭스라는 뮤지션이 있다는 것만 알고 있었는데 라디오에서 이 곡을 듣는 순간 전류에 감전된듯한 충격을 받았습니다. 섬광 같은 리프와 미쳤다고 밖에 표현할 수 밖에 없는 드럼, 이 곡은 그냥 일렉트릭이라는 말이 가장 어울리는 곡이었습니다. 헨드릭스의 기타야 더 말할 필요도 없지만 이 곡에서의 미치 미첼의 드럼은 족보에도 없는 락 드럼 역사상 손에 꼽을 미친 명연주였습니다. 제 개인적 생각으로는 미치 미첼은 락 드러머 탑 3 안에 들어간다고 봅니다.

My name is Michael Hoffman (michael13085) and i have played the drums since 1965. I have been in several bands and at the age of 16 had to get an ABC card (finger printed) at the FBI building in Newark NJ. in order to play at bars. We played at backyard parties, weddings, county clubs, bars, fashion shows, discos, lodges, restaurants, etc. 3 years ago i produced a video on TH-cam about Kevin Dorn and his tips on the actual different rhythms of Gene Krupa playing "Sing, Sing, Sing" over his life time. I enjoyed your take on this timeless classic big band music. We as drummers do not have to play every note that the "ACE" drummer played. You can change it up and make it your own. Some drummers will disagree with me but thinking outside the box is a good thing. Enjoy yourself and don't worry about what your peers will think or say as long as you are keeping time with the music and having fun. Has always been a great song, but sounds so much better with deeper toms, like Gene had. A bigger boomier sound needed. Slingerlands for a start, but love the song and nicely played. Maybe tune the floor tom lower, with no muffling.
