Oh yes, the drifting seems to have become worse with recent updates. I also observed updates for the BNO085 IMU to be stagnant although it's supposedly the best chip you can use for Slimes and is also part of the official ones. Both their Discord and GitHub feature a surprisingly huge amount of fixes for BMI IMUs instead. I once had a firmware issue which had been downright dismissed when I brought it to their awareness. They told me I soldered my DIY trackers wrong and it took another 6 months until someone else addressed the issue but was capable of providing the code fix, right away. It didn't take devs long to accept the pull request. All these little incidents have soured my experience with SlimeVR, over time.

I'm a slimevr user and even I know these have vast benefits over slimevr. affordability, level of tracking with less trackers and slower drift due to IR sensors to help maintain awareness of surrounds and movement. It IS 6dof as it uses the IR sensors to understand its position as well it's not "3DoF with AI 6DoF". I'd heard bad things about panda trackers in the VR community but this just confirms that.

Compare the price of Pico motion trackers with the price of Panda trackers. We are talking that for 89€ you are getting a very functional fbt. Adding the possibility to use a third tracker in case of using Pico 4 Ultra. At the moment it is the best option for Pico users.

Of course... This is not a device for enthusiasts, but a device for all general users, so it is bound to be inaccurate. I think you need to compare what you are comparing. I am not a Pico supporter or a supporter of that company, I am just a VR enjoyment user, and even the device I am using now is Quest 2. But for the average user, I think it's a revolutionary device. Honestly, I don't think there are many devices in the price-performance range that have that level of quality and battery life that are readily available.

I use SlimeVR trackers myself. I built 5 myself (official PCB design) now gave to a friend because I have full set now. It was quite a long wait but yeah covid, chip shortages AND fcc complaining about on-body regulations. The case design was indeed bad but luckily I have a 3D printer. I guess you are just lucky with your pandas. But the panda trackers kind of look ugly imho. Hehe.

Why are you complaining it only £80 for 2 tracker

Bought my slime trackers an immediately had poor build quality (along with my two other friends who bought them at the exact same time) 1st issue was rattling/loose trackers. I had 2/7 that were loose, one friend had 3/7 loose, and my other friend also had 3/7 that were loose. We all had to open them up to fix this before we even used them. 2nd issue was stripped screws, we noticed this after taking them apart (was actually the cause of rattle in some of them). Lots of the trackers the screws weren’t threading and we had to swap which hole the screws were in to make them thread. The 3rd issue that only I had was the battery sticking out from in between the seam of the housing on two IMU’s. You could visually see the corner part of the battery just poking out. 4th issue was just terrible tracking quality (which could just be a skill issue from me). My main reason for getting them was going from standing to sitting to laying smoothly but whenever I go from standing to sitting (along with my friends) you have to double tap a tracker to recalibrate them for sitting. This really makes me wonder what the point even is of having them if they can’t even track a standing to sitting movement.
