This is great Paul!
Beautiful object, beautiful work
Great one. Where would the sword originally been made? Thanks.
We are from the McKenzie Line that left Ballichulish in the 1790's with the McLaurin and Stewart's and ended up in North Carolina and eventually Mississippi where there is some great letters stored at Duke university that allowed us to trace back to Big Duncan and Ballichulish. Thanks for this video.
I am Master.
Beautiful work Master ... that damascus blade and finely crafted handle are beautiful 🥰
Fascinating documentary! I was lucky to get Paul on board to do vocals to one of my music albums. Paul truly is a *master* in the craft of sword making.
What an inspirational video... just making my first fairbairn pattern knife for a customer 😁 normally make bushcraft knives but loving the process of this build 👍 done a bit of research and I'm thinking I'll go with a 3" guard 😉I've cast the handle out of brass out of old door handles and using 01 for the blade..when it's done I'll make a video...all the best from the north west of England 🤙 subscribed 👍
Very cool to see this iconic weapon reconstructed in its original form. I was planning to visit the Yorkshire museum where the original is kept a few days ago, but it's unfortunately closed until spring due to lack of revenue due to covid. I'd be interested to know where the point of balance is on this reproduction. I imagine it's not as blade-heavy as earlier Anglo saxon swords such as that of Sutton Hoo mound 1 and probably more akin to Viking swords in its tradeoff between efficacy of chopping and thrusting.
Awe inspiring! This is a piece of genuine seanchas. Equally inspiring is seeing two fine gentlemen i.e. a Campbell Chief and a MacDonald gentlemen work together in the recognition and preservation of Highland heritage. It's high time the schisms of the past were finally buried once and for all.
Awesome work,im going over to Scotland soon, pay you a visit
Beautiful film, loved the sword salute very rare to get the full connection and history x
" ... the greatest advances in any culture or society are made by the discontent ...". How utterly true indeed! I could not have worded it better nor could have been worded by a better Highland gentleman. Heritage and Hope!
Paul is a truely awesome dude and really passionate about his craft and martial arts and best of all he shares his knowledge to grow the number of folks practicing and wanting to learn about bladesmithing history etc
That's amazing. Always in the last place you look. What a great story about uncovering lost history.
Real Scottish history better than anything Hollywood could write!
Awesome story and video, what a treasure, absolutely loved it!
Wonderful story. I got a little choked up at the end. Thank you, Paul!
Apart from so interesting it is great that the Duke of Argyle continues to support heritage. Paul a supper piece of detective work.
Great story - thank you Paul! It's a fantastic episode.
