Motorcycling, Motorbiking whatever you want to call it. Mainly vlogging as I believe it's called, mainly for my own benefit and as a little past time.
Just on the off chance you're a manufacturer or outlet of clothing and accessories, I'd be happy to test your gear out in a real world and daily scenario. Of course you should really do that yourself, but if you can't be bothered, I'd be happy to help at no cost.

Metabo SLA 14.4-18V LED work Torch if helpful to anyone
Most boring video ever, but I would have liked to see it before buying. Says in spec 9hrs with a 4Ah battery. Should be handy. Got from powertoolworld.

TRUENAS CORE - How to move pool to new drive arrangement when you need to expand (Ex.MIRROR - RAIDZ)
มุมมอง 398ปีที่แล้ว
I'm not a TrueNAS pro, but I do use it and wanted a reminder about how to move from a mirrored arrangement to a RAIDZ1,2 or 3 (or any other variation). Sometimes you can run out of space and although this way means you'll have to stump up for 3 or more new drives, it avoids other methods of expansion. I guess at least you'll have 2 spare drives :-) Don't do this if you are inexperienced or have...
3DConnexion CadMouse Pro revisited (it did cost nearly £100 after all)

Battery Powered Whirlpool for kids school project (natural events and disasters theme)
มุมมอง 9ปีที่แล้ว
I was asked to make this, so I did. It uses battery power and a motor to turn two magnets, one in a glass loosely and another attached to a spinning motor. The motor rotates and makes the magnet in the glass also rotating, causing a whirlpool. Things used: Wood (2x1") OSB (for mounting) Glass (taken from a picture frame) DPM tape to protect edges of OSB and glass Batteries (AA) Battery containe...
Example of initially slow TrueNAS 12 scrub of a 2 x 4TB IronWolf MIRROR at 4x speed.

This is really boring, but might help people that think 'what the hell' when they first start seeing it taking months to scrub. Spoiler, after 5-10 minutes it calms down. Total real amount of time is about 1 hour.
CAD MOUSE Comparison of Logitech G402 vs 3DConnexion CadMouse Pro - it ain't that bad.
มุมมอง 4.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a really basic video for anyone that might find it helpfu. Thing I forgot to mention is that I bought my for £100'ish from Scan, when it arrived the side bits had a weird bit of talc or some fine powder on it. May be to prevent the rubber from degrading, if it is rubber. I took some time - a good few years before buying this mouse, there are so many mixed opinions about it. I reckon it ...
Replacement wheel skid articulated lorry crash protection (21st Sept 2021)
มุมมอง 373 ปีที่แล้ว
Only a thought I had, may be it's already an invention but may be it would work using existing technology. A sensor in the tyre could could detect a deflation and instantly drops a skid plate down, locks it in position and temporarily supports that corner of the vehicle. It would need a strong motor or compressor, but as the engines are quite big, may be they could power to effectively act like...

Possible issue with Quantifier Pro for SketchUp
มุมมอง 823 ปีที่แล้ว
You can clearly see that when the integrated 'hole tool' is used to make an opening, the total cost and wall area is NOT deducted. This sadly makes the Quantifier Pro tool of no use in real world use. It's quite disappointing that some TH-cam channels and websites promote a plugin that do not work properly.

This is a rough cut with mistake, I'm no TH-camr and I'm quite tired. But hopefully it will help someone - also I welcome feedback and am happy to remove if it provides false or unhelpful information.

Quick review of Titan TTB583PMP 400W Dirty Water Pump from Screwfix (March 2021)
มุมมอง 3.7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a quick one on this, don't normally do this type of thing but this is a good pump. I've used it for a few weeks now and it has been as good as gold. It can be fiddly to get it running sometimes but if you put it on its side (where the water normally comes out of the bottom side) and get the air out first, it starts pretty quick. Done a video of it working here th-cam.com/video/1JK_QXkVxeQ/...

People of China: You are in one of the most heavily CCTV'ed countries in the world. You are already being recorded by the state! And you are in England, NOT CHINA! Despite Big Brother UK watching every persons every move, you cannot impose China Law! Oh and damn the torpedoes, PLAY YOUR BOOGIE WOOGIE MATE! We should live in a Peace State, NOT a Police State! They don't like our laws, RETURN TO CHINA!

IMPORTANT: DO NOTE REPLICATION TASKS WILL BE DELETED, SO YOU DO NEED TO UPLOAD THE CONFIG FILE ORIGINALLY MADE. Procedure for replacing set of drives that make a pool. For example, a mirror being swapped out for a 3 drive RAIDZ1. 1. Save config (Go to System & General) 2. Turn off all dependant Plugins/Jails. 3. Turn off all shares (either disable SMB service or individually disable each share) 4. Ensure all dependant servers are off and not pulling replications. 5. Note snapshot(s) schema, then disable 6. Create new pool from new set of drives (calling "rep" is nice and short to type) 7. Use existing snapshot schemas to replicate to new drive set - can use multiple snapshot schemas. Important to tickbox recursive. CHECK DATA HAS TRANSFERRED SUCCESSFULLY. 8. Once transferred, detach ALL pools in GUI (ONLY tick CONFIRM). 9. Then in shell "zpool import [old-pool-name] [new-pool-name]" 10. Then in shell again "zpool export [pool-name]" 11. Import pools in via GUI
Thanks for the review
No worries 👍
Does it handle debris, leaves and gravel ok?
Sorry for the delay, yeah it does alright, be good if you can avoid things like that. I'd put it on a patio tile or something solid that won't float up. Hope that helps 👍
Hi i recently bought a new cadmouse hope that will reduce the pain i am having with the scroll and click.
Hey Kiran, fingers crossed it'll work for you. I did an update - have been using it for a month or two now, I'm happy with it. Good luck! Here's the updated video: th-cam.com/video/CsmFZcd5cxk/w-d-xo.html
how come it keeps filling up?
Water table is really high, we are in a valley 😒
Well, after around a week...I've gone back to the G402 :-/ I'm going to see if I can become familiar with the CadMouse again some other time, I've got too much work to do and it's taken so much adjustment, I was put off using it.
Brought one of these from screwfix for my patio but it packed up after a few days. So binned it & brought a silver einhell one from Toolstation for about £75 didn’t use a flat hose I got a proper thick hose type pipe to connect it too
That's really unlucky, mine has lasted for hundreds of hours now. Don't know if it matters but they don't like running dry or for more than an hour at a time. At least you found Toolstation helped you out 👍
@@motorcyclebiker I use it in my back garden as we have a high water table so we get pooling near our house when it rains heavily, so I use the water pump to drain it out & it only runs for about a minute every 8 hours or so if it’s a large area
@@tonyl1984 May be the screwfix one failed because the run time was so short? Don't know if it's helpful but I had water table problems, so I dug a hole around 2 foot deep, threw a plastering mixing bucket in there after I had drilled loads of holes through it then wrapping with landscape fabric, then surrounding blocks with it, level with the ground level and putting a patio tile on top. Lets me throw the pump in the bucket and leave it there, then if the water gets up high, the buoyancy switch thing automatically starts up when needed.
Many thanks for the ride. I was evacuated from T/wells in 1944, I should have been born at a nursing home on Cromwell Road but it got bombed. My gran lived at number 38 Cromwell Road. It has been around 50 years since I was last down there. I wish that the journey had started a few yards sooner, as I would have liked to have seen the Royal Oak pub that I think would have been on the left, I always promised myself that I would have a pint in there one day as I had to stay outside with a packet of crisp and a bottle of lemonade while my parents and gran called in for a quick one. When you came to the first roundabout I was hoping that you would turn left to see if I could smell the coffee being roasted like I could back in the early 50s, boy was the smell strong!!. Many thanks for taking the time to run the video, I did enjoy so much. Best wishes from Yorkshire. Robin
keep it up its really good I live in tunbrige wells I saw my house
Thank you mate, bit of a delay doing stuff, but will be doing it properly soon. I'm riding anyway!
Probably do need higher video quality as well...may be this past time isn't worth doing!
I really need to change the angle of the camera, let it see more sky!
