Unwinding with Fiber and Fabric
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 ส.ค. 2011
Join me for some Unwinding with Fiber and Fabric.
From my grandmothers, I learned that the practical items we need for everyday life could be beautiful as well as functional. From them, I also learned that the art of making held a key to healing. I find peace and joy through creating with fiber and fabric, and hope to inspire others by sharing my projects and journey.
The time spent creating things with my hands provides me with an opportunity to think - to ponder on the things life is teaching me. Every so often, my ponderings formulate into something I can share with others. Thus the original purpose of my blog, and now my videos.

That is funny. I have often thought the tree skirts would make cute capes. It is adorable.
Thank you😊💜
While I will miss seeing you on my screen on a more regular basis, it'll make the times I do see you on my screen even more wonderful. I hope you have time to rest in the busy month ahead! <3
Thank you💜 I’m making sure to rest… or I’m trying to do so😸 Trying to soak in the moments as much as I can💜
I started quilting 15 years ago with a 6 weeks class. And I was the only one with a sewing machine! Over the years I've done some smaller projects by hand, even miniature quilts (about 2' square and 3x4') with the smallest haxagons. But I've never managed to learn hand quilting. Serious lack of coordination to do hand quilting 😮💨. For larger projects I really prefer the sewing machine for both stitching and quilting. Once in a while I do smaller projects by hand. Like the grandma flowers. Still need to come up with an idea to machine quilt these flowers 🤔
Grandma’s flower garden does seem to be a tough one to figure out the quilting for. I watched a longarm quilter stitch one a few months back @StitchedBySusan. It was a really interesting quilt to watch quilted😸
This was so in depth that I pulled out a notebook to take notes 😹 It was lovely to have an hour of you going in detail on something you clearly love <3 I learned so much!
I can’t thank you enough for this comment💜 My quilt videos don’t get as much attention as my spinning ones. Like a parent loves their children equally but as individuals, I love quilting and spinning equally. Each craft brings me joy in its own special way😸. I’m spending a bit more time instructing rather than making at the moment, so my FOs are less. I’m also learning how to DnD😹. I’m enjoying that so much that I’m DMing a family campaign (with close assistance from my son). It’s like quilting and spinning just got a new sibling😹💜
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric Awww I love that! I'm more familiar with crochet, and spinning is my "I need to turn off brain" craft, but I enjoy them just as much as I do knitting and sewing. I'm so glad you're enjoying D&D!! I'm plotting out a one shot for Halloween currently, it's always fun to find new ways to make my players have a good time
Oooooh I love D&D too. I am learning to be a DM and have been designing my own campaign with a craft theme throughout. It is kinda cool, even if I do say so myself lol ;) T x
@@TartantazCreates wow, that sounds wonderful‼️ ❣️
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric I wish I could play it with ya so you could tell me if it’s any good or not lol
@@TartantazCreates I’m sure it will be wonderful ❣️
I run two D&D campaigns, and in one we're solving a murder mystery in a spaceship. It's still a high fantasy setting, it just also happens to be in other genres too 😹 I'm so glad you've uploaded a video, I've missed seeing your face on my screen. Love your notebook, the quilts, just everything!!
💜 Murder mystery in space sounds cool😸 In addition to are main campaign, we are doing a “solo” campaign that is a bit of a mystery. My son is acting as the DM to help clarify stuff for us. My hubby and I are both characters even though the campaign was designed for solo play. I call it “story time for the parents” and my son just shakes his head🤣 I’m glad to have finally been able to record again. The longer the break, the harder it is to counter the forces that cause me to doubt myself🫣💜 I’m determined to make a video a month at least. Well just have to see if creativity inspires more frequent videos again💜
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric That solo campaign sounds like a delight. May your brain demons roll 1s, and may you roll 20s against them <3
@@EllanaRose love love love this😸
The current campaign I am in we are in space and I play an Astral Elf who is a dragon warden and my DM has allowed me to have a space dragon as a companion. It is sooooo cool.
@@TartantazCreates That is incredibly cool!!
Thank you for this video. I live on a small farm in Australia and have four English Leicester (Leicester Longwool) wethers that I keep for spinning. Their fleece is magical and it was lovely to find a discussion about spinning with their wonderful fleece. It deserves to be more widely known and used, both for spinning and for its wonderful dyeing properties. I also appreciated your comments about spinning intuitively. I think all the concern about twist, grist, ratios, etc. can make spinning a quite anxious activity, for me at least. Also, as an aside, is your wheel a Kromsky Symphony? It looks very much like a wheel I have.
💜❣️I so agree with you and yes, it is a Symphony 😸 Spinning intuitively seems so much more sensible for the modern handspinner. I’m sure there are some production spinners who will still need to consider all the calculations, but I suspect most of us can accomplish our goals without all of that😹 Thank you for your lovely comment today💜
One day I'll fall down the rabbit hole of working out the physics of spinning. I'd love to know how spinning would work in space or on other planets where gravity is different. Thankfully today is not that day because I have other things to do this decade 😹 Working on my Halloween cardigan while watching, can't believe there's less than 75 days to go!
Our temperature today is very autumnal and I am doing a big clean/prep for autumn crafting - because Halloween is sooooo close🙀😹 I love spinning, but when the days start cooling off (even a tiny bit) all I can think of is getting ready for the first big event of the crafty season -🎃🎃🎃 Halloween🎃
Tim is so cute! Your son did so well!
Thank you 😸
Very cute monster, I love the teeth! And what I good idea to slightly brush the bunny! Much love, many hugs.
Thank you! 😊💜
Lovely visiting with you today.
💜 So happy you enjoyed it💜
Love the little guys!! I'd trust the yellow one to be an accountant 😹 Wishing you spoons
😹 I just read this to my son and he loved it so much😸 He agrees, so it must be so. I shall name it Abe the Accountant, and thus it will be Abe henceforth. 💜 Thank you for the well wishes. Physical therapy is really going well, but it does use up the spoons. Last week it upended the spoon drawer entirely 😵💫, but I’m beginning to sort it all out again💜
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric This brings me so much joy 😹 I hope Abe the Accountant enjoys his name too! Good luck with spoon management, sometimes it requires a whole cutlery drawer by itself <3
I’m in Love with your spinning wheel ! Haha! 😍 You spin like magic ! 🤗😄
Thank you😸 My wheel is a Kromski Symphony in case you wondered💜
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric , It is my Most favorite, I ordered one long ago and It came in damaged. 🫤 sent it back and didn’t know who to order it from that was a good company.
Spending time with loved ones instead of focusing on social media? Goodness how dare you 😹 I did consider doing something for the Ravellenics, but I'm doing the 100 nights to Halloween countdown (one knitting project, one crochet) so I'm already doing a lot 😹 Can't wait for the updates on your projects!
Oh how cool🎃 sounds like a perfect way to get ready for the festive fun❣️
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric It started on the 23rd, so it's now 4 or 5 days in - plenty of time if you wanted to join in too! I'm using Halloween themed yarn to crochet a blanket and to knit leg warmers/gloves, so simple things but using very fun yarn. Either way, I hope you have a good week! <3
I would love to join in, but this year is a bit hectic😹 Too many projects all ready in the the works. Maybe next year💜
I had my own excess dye issue lol I spun up a blue dyed fibre and got the dye all over my good spindle and my fingers :( I had no idea it would happen so it took me by surprise. I have no idea how I am going to use the wool if the dye keeps coming out every time I handle it lol
You can soak the yarn in water, add some distilled vinegar, and heat it for 2 minutes in your microwave, reheat 1 minute after it cools for 5 minutes or so. Then let it cool for an hour. That might help set the dye if it hasn’t fully set. Then soak, rinse, repeat. Eventually the water will be clear or only light blue tint, Blue is an interesting one when it lightly bleeds since in the past people actually added a blue tint to the wash water to make whites look more white😸
Hello, your colors and yarns are lovely. It is great you can share your creative life with your son. I ended TDF with 1091.6 yards on my bicycle wheel and 167.4 yards on my great wheel. Not a lot compared with others but, I am pleased. I will be demonstrating with my guild at our local county fair soon. I have some fine merino I want to prepare. Thinking of hand cards or on a drum carder with a fine drum. How would you prepare it?
Thank you 😊 That is some good spinning results 💜 I never even counted my yardage this year😹 So unlike my usual TdF efforts🤪 If you are preparing for the demo, you might find rolags made on the hand cards a better option. Grabbing one rolag at a time rather than a batt might keep the fiber less handled and easier managed when doing a demo (chatting etc). Of course the drum carder might be faster prep, and you could simply prep for the demo by separating the batt into strips before the event. If you go with the hand card option, consider taking fiber and hand cards to the fair so you can prep some there - another demo to share😸
Thankyou I needed to hear this video.
💜My pleasure💜
You may enjoy spinning and knitting with Zwartbles. It's my favorite wool to spin, it has a beautifully dark natural color, but it's soft for a durable wool. Your bucket bag is lovely! I've been thinking about crocheting a bucket bag with some old acrylic 😹 I guess this is a sign I should do that 😹
I will need to keep an eye out for that breed😸 Yes, take the plunge and knit - great use for that old acrylic👍
May your body be kinder to you <3 I love the sentiment of "I'm tired but I'm happy" you have here, and it really sums up TdF for me. I'm exhausted, but it is fun, and I have beautiful things I made that I can use to make even more beautiful things. Happy spinning!
💜🌈💜So glad your enjoying another TdF💜
I do hope I can eventually spin as beautifully as you do You make it look so easy
Thank you💜 Most of the time it feels easy😸 There are certainly fibers I find easier than others, and techniques that once learned make spinning easier. There is still a whole bunch of fiber and technique that makes me stumble and grumble 😹
I love to dye and then spin suri alpaca, the colours of the dye look totally different than say if I dye a batch of suri and the othe alpaca the suri comes out more pastel kind of colours no matter which colours I use but they don't half come out lovely, suri makes a beautifully soft yarn and brings out some stunning colours if dyed Thank you for sharing❤
Isn’t it amazing how natural fibers react differently from each other when dyed? It’s one of the great joys of playing with fiber - the surprises ❣️
Hi, like you, I have the challenge of fibromyalgia along with osteoarthritis. While each day is a challenge I try not to dwell on it. My body says take a rest I rest. Actually I don't have much choice because I hit a wall. 😂The only goal I set was to try and spin an hour and a half a day. I try not to beat myself up if I don't achieve that. My crafting brings me contentment as well as a sense of accomplishment that I hope to continue as long as I can. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and crafting adventures.
Thank you for sharing💜 You made a great goal and have such a good attitude about it. Crafting, especially spinning, is such a good way to keep us focused on the things we can do despite or physical issues. Sounds like you really understand this❣️
I've been spinning with Jente's team chaos goblin at @MijnWolden and our aim as a group is to spin from Bag End to Erebor 😹 Sometimes a challenge can be just finishing a project, sometimes it's remembering to move the slider/adjust the hook, it really is so very personal 😹 I'm so happy to hear that your reasons for this being a challenge this time around are for wonderful reasons. Happy spinning!
Chaos Goblin Spinning - now that sounds like a fun team😸 Happy Spinning💜❣️💜❣️💜
Watching you all day today, as I'm home and I can! Found you this morning, I do like your style.
Welcome❣️ I’m pleased 😊💜
I have just found you. I really enjoyed watching, I am returning to wool crafts as I retire, and patchwork also. I particularly enjoyed the chat about dying, as I start that journey myself. I like your sensible style. Thank you, new fan from West Australia.
I’m glad you found my channel❣️ Best wishes on your retirement and return to crafting. Adding dyeing into the mix is such a fun way to Make both wool and quilting unique and personal 💜
Enjoying your TDF videos today while I spin on an advent calendar that I hope to finish now so I can allow myself to buy more this Christmas… When it comes to your physical therapy and spinning a worsted yarn- I did a workshop with Carson Demers on spinning ergonomics, and asked him how I could spin a laceweight silk brick without triggering my tendinitis. His advice was to try post spinning/spinning around the post. He said that a famous production spinner (forgot her name) used this technique to quickly produce large amounts of fine yarn without pain. You pick a finger, say your pointer finger, and let the drafting triangle go just to your finger and the yarn wrap around it 90 degrees or so to the wheel. You can play with the angle. Since the twist doesn’t pass around your finger, it results in a worsted yarn but you aren’t having to do a forward draw repetitively. I personally did try this (haven’t been brave enough yet for the silk) and found that it did reduce hand/wrist fatigue, but I needed to trade post fingers every so often. Good Luck and wishing you painless spinning!
Interesting 🤔 I might need to play with this. I appreciate you mentioning the need to switch fingers. I will need to be cautious since my fingers can get sore before the wrists and shoulders🥴😹 The physical therapy is working wonders. I’m retraining a whole host of muscles. It generates fatigue, but I’m seeing improvement in my strength and stability 💜
Happy TdF!! Crewel was my very first type of craft, but I very quickly discovered I hated it 😹 I moved to freestyle hand embroidery and cross stitch within a week, but it's funny you mentioned it when I was just thinking about it the other day. Happy spinning! Tell the cats I say hi
I’ve had crafts like that too😹 Sending happy spinning vibes😸
we are joining Tour de fleece this year as well. excited to find your channel! we are trying daily videos as well.
Excellent❣️ Happy Spinning💜
This is my way! I dye my Fiber! And the results are so pretty! I m in love with it! Its my First dye! Thank you so much for your Interpretation!❤
❣️You’re welcome 😸 I might have to dye some more fiber just for the fun if ❣️
A floof noodle I dyed recently was fun to do. I had a jar in my pan, and let the braid go between the two, so parts were in the jar and parts were in the pan. Both had pinky purple dye, but in different colors, so the jar was much more vibrant. I made sure to leave a lot out of the pan/jar, and the color wicked up. It created this beautiful variegated tonal, with both braids having the same colors but also not. I'm so excited to see your spinning this year!!
That sounds lovely and I look forward to seeing it spun ❣️
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric I'm already crocheting it! I'll post pics after TdF when I finish it

Excellent work with the tie-dye quilt! And congrats on the new gadget! How fun! I have a few wools saved for the tour. I will more than likely be able to get them all done. I still haven't spun on my Good & Basic wheel, yet, but plan to start practice treadling tomorrow. Hugs!
Thanks😸
Great advice & tips. I like the ideas of making project albums, both on Ravelry & Fb. Love & hugs!
💜thanks😊
I love your rainbow quilt! The sky has the trans flag colors too, so lovely <3 Happy queer pride month! July is disability pride month, I love that they're back to back, it's two months of celebrating things that are otherwise struggles. Thank you for making me cry happy tears with what you said <3 <3 I love your little alpaca blanket! An alblanka perhaps?? 😹
💜❣️💜 I so enjoyed making the rainbow quilt. It was liberating to throw out all the voices of criticism and make something by the child in me. There is nothing wrong with making the art that made us happy when we were little. Sometimes the greatest joy is hidden within that art💜 I’m glad I could share it and my feelings with you😊
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric This is why I love Halloween so much - it's just fun!! I hope you get to make even more joyful things soon <3
I have started prepping 2 lbs of roving from Spinners Hill in NY. I like to separate it and pre-draft into balls. I will spin it on my bicycle wheel. It's an old stationary bike my husband turned into a wheel. Do you spin the whole day or set limits? You wouldn't think that sitting and spinning would be tiring, but by the end of the month I am exhausted!😂
Your prep is a great way to organize for TdF❣️ It can also be a great way to manage your second question - decide how much weight you want to spin each day and make a “ball” of it. Some years I spin themed projects - that is how I approached TdF 2022 (playlist just created). When I spin projects, I will often spin singles one day and ply the next. More often than not, I just spin when I can, trying to remember to take breaks 😹. Back in the Spinzilla days (a week of crazy intense spinning) I would try to sun massive quantities. I miss Spinzilla but not the insanity of the week. I recommend that most spinners, especially new spinners take a relaxed approach to TdF since a month of spinning can be hard on the body unless the spinner is a production spinner already conditioned for the task of daily spinning large quantities💜
Is washing your fleece in warm water enough to set the twist? I was taught many many years ago to put a pot on the stove to just below a simmer and let wool sit in that.
Simmering is good for scouring wool, but not necessary for setting the twist. I’ve seen some spinners spritz their yarn to dampen it to set twist. Some will hit it with a blast of steam. I choose warm water to help with a gentle cleaning, plus it’s easier on my hands than cool or cold water😸 I think it’s the damp not temp that relaxes the fibers - in cases where the singles have rested on bobbins for awhile, it reenergizes them. Now simmering might also be suggested if you are wanting to full, or slightly felt your yarn. A tiny bit of agitation OR just plunge the hot yarn into a cold bath. I usually full my yarn a bit with a bit of agitation in the warm water post-spin wash. Some yarns benefit from the process. It’s especially interesting to look into when and when not to fill a yarn for weaving❣️
Im hoping to do some spinning this year. We're raising our 6yr old granddaughter and 5 mon old grandson so i havent had much time for crafting. Going to see if my granddaughter wants to join in. Love your channel especially your tour de fleece episodes.
Good luck!😸 Sounds like you will have your hands full but it could turn out to be a delightful challenge finding a way to spin with the kids rather than only when they sleep. If you get some pencil roving, or strip a braid into thin strips, your granddaughter should manage a drop spindle quite well with practice💜 Grandson will probably have to settle with a wooly toy at this point😉 You might find spinning to be a good “story time” too. Check out a book called Charlie Needs a Cloak. Also, there are so many sheep toys on Amazon. I purchased the Toymany 8 piece Merino Sheep set a year or two ago to go with my Nativity. My kids loved toys like that when they were your granddaughter’s age. 💜
I found your channel last year during TDF and I have followed you since. Are you going to join groups? I tend to set goals for myself and work on my own/with podcasters.
I’m going to help captain the Kromski Ravelry team and I moderate the TdF Rookies on Ravelry too. In the past I’ve been on a couple other Rav teams. I’ll probably decide at the last minute😹 My spinning goals are simple this year but I might mix things up a bit for the videos🤔 I think it will be a “take it as it comes” your this year😹 We’ll see💜
I started spinning in August last year. Tour De Fleece was over and I didn’t even know it existed. Now I’m bingeing on spinning content and watching all the Tour De Fleece content I can get. I don’t think I’ll be joining a group yet, but I’m definitely giving it a shot to see how far a daily spin will get me. Wouldn’t want to hold back a group with my measly beginner efforts until I know I can hack it. It seems like a wonderful way to structure and track my spinning and any progress I make. Happy spinning! Edit: If I were to set myself a goal, I think it would be to spin every day. As simple as that. My go-to, ‘default’ spin is lace weight yarn: once it’s plied it’s between 30 and 35 WPI. That means I don’t spin up a lot of ounces per day/hour, but it tallies up to a whole lot of yards comparatively! Not that I’m a fast spinner. I don’t look at how many grams or ounces I spin up. At most I’ll check how many yards or metres I’ve spun. I just keep on spinning until I’ve filled a bobbin and then either ply it using a centre pull ball, or make a plying bracelet. Once I’ve plied a bobbin, I’ll check the yardage, pick a knitting pattern, and keep on spinning and plying until I’ve got enough for that project. Somewhere along the way I’ll do a swatch to make sure my math adds up.
Wow❣️ you should not feel at all concerned about holding a group back, certainly not if your spinning lace weight yarn💜 TdF is about community not competition. There have been teams in the past who host a bit of competition within their team and have prizes, but most teams just encourage participation because we all love to see what everyone else is spinning. With that being said, lace spinners do sometimes fret that their photos seldom show much change from day to day. That’s the nature of lace spinning😹 So even if you don’t join a team be sure to lurk💜 Most importantly, don’t feel concerned about all the yarn totals everyone posts. For some, the goal is quantity or stash busting. TdF is a great opportunity to stash bust. For many, daily spinning is the only goal and challenge - AND that is a worthy challenge regardless of years spinning. For some, the challenge is connecting with others through spinning - sometimes quite the challenge in itself💜
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric - Thank you! There isn’t much of a spinning community in the area of Belgium where I live. Actually, there doesn’t seem to be very much of a spinning community in Belgium in general. I did find one Belgian content creator, based on the other end of the country: Jente from Mijn Wolden. Locally, I’ve found one single spinner. This means I have kept my spinning connections virtual. TDF seems like a great way to share what has fast been becoming my happy place. I’ll certainly lurk, if I don’t join. More fibre arts content, and perhaps some great ideas, tips and tricks!
@eddavanleemputten9232 💜Spinning is my happy place too💜
I found your channel last year during tour de fleece. I loved those videos. I always had your videos on in the background while I did my spinning for the event ;) I am so glad I found your channel. I am looking forward to tour de fleece this year. I have finally started combing my first fleece I washed last year lol Maybe I will get spinning some of it during tour de fleece :) T x
I’m glad you found me💜 I’m looking forward to another year too😸
It's almost funny to think that at the time of 2020's TdF I didn't even know spinning as a hobby existed. Love the little guest appearances of the cats though 😹
Isn’t amazing how much can change in 4 years💜
Hi, Dear Pioneerlady Fibre Friend, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️ Thankyou so, so much for sharing this video podcast. I watched your Compilation Video before I watched this one. Typical of me to watch them the wrong way round.😮😮. I think I'm a one person team, but I don't mind 🤔 as you never know when fibro can decide to knock us back. The weather here is more like autumn than spring/summer temperatures. ❄️❄️ I'd never really heard it explained before. This is only my 3rd year of Spinning, so being a relatively newbie, so all this information is very much appreciated. 😊😊 I hope you have a Wonderful Weekend/Week ✨️🌟🌞🌞 Happy Spinning and Dyeing Fibre Friend🎡🐑🥰🥰 Take care and stay safe Lots of love, Blessings and Big Hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🫂🫂🫂🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
💜 Our weather has been bouncing between spring and summer - I prefer the spring 😹 If you’re on Ravelry, consider joining a team even just to lurk 🙂 or join the FB group. Both are good ways to see lots of pretty fiber/yarn with little contribution actually expected💜
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric Hi, that sounds better than our weather. Temperatures next week are what we'd expect for late Autumn. I don't use Ravelry , the FB Group sounds good though. Will keep you posted on what I decide to do🤔🤔. Happy Spinning and Dyeing Fibre Friend 🎡🐑🥰🥰 Take care, stay safe, love and hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️🫂❤️🫂🫂🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
Hi, Dear Sweet Lady Fibre Friend, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️ Thankyou so much for sharing this compilation video, of TdF, both your Handspun Yarn and your Hand Dyed Fibre look amazing and beautiful. I’m glad you enjoyed it💜
Hallo, I'm French, spin every day but actualy hate watching the tour de fleece! but love your vidéos
I’m so glad you enjoy my videos❣️💜
Congratulations on your three new "pets" 😹 My only aim for TdF this year is to finish two projects. Admittedly, they're both sweater spins 😹 I adore that tie dye quilt! I'd never thought about dyeing bedsheets!! I have so many boring ones, why did I never think to make them fun? Regarding the windmill block, I've definitely squinted my eyes at a few and wondered what the intention was with them, but I think yours is lovely. I can picture it with a white background and blue/white floral windmills, reminiscent of pottery
Randy the Raccoon came by tonight. We have some old apples and give him one every so often. Tonight he tried to carry it across the yard with his front paws as he walked on his back paws😸 Never ending amusement😹 Dyeing sheets is a great way to up-cycle or to take white set and make them unique❣️ As for TdF and sweater spins🥴 I’m still plying the final skein from last year’s sweater spin😹😹😹
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric Please tell Randy I love him, as I do all the other cats you have 😹 Keep plying! Soon it'll be cold enough to wear sweaters again!
congrats on your new long arm machine. It sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun with it. I have designed my own fabric pattern and got it printed using a print on demand company in the UK. I have now thought it might be fun to design my own panels for quilting. Oh great, another project to add to my ever growing list lol
😸😹💜 sew much fun but with only sew much time for it😉 I think designing a quilt panel could be such a fun thing to do! So many ways to use them either traditionally in quilts or as the basis for some bling and artistic exploration❣️
@@UnwindingwithFiberandFabric indeed, it has certainly given me food for thought ;)
Oh my gosh you've been busy! While I don't quilt, I can certainly appreciate the art of it. I love that sunshine block the best, but when you held up the mariner's compass my first response was "Oh, wow!" because I couldn't even fathom how much time-talent-skill that would take to get lined up as nicely as you did it. I'm debating on whether or not to try the TdF for the first time. I may. I have some wonderful fibers to choose from that I've been gathering like a squirrel for a while now. Not sure if I told you but my daughter and her fiancee spent $200 on my first mechanical wheel from Good & Basic. I've had issues with it, but finally think I got all of the kinks worked out. I haven't taken her for a test run yet. In the mean time I have spindles I can use until I get proficient with the wheel. Perhaps by TdF I'll be ready for real big-girl spinning! Fingers crossed! Love and hugs, always!
The seam ripper has stayed close at hand with these EPP blocks😹 Strangely a challenge rather than a frustration😸 I hope you do join in with TdF this year - a little or a lot, it is a great way to spin and connect with other spinners💜
I missed you last week! Your quilts are so lovely, I'm so glad you've found a way to machine quilt without having too much pain. I wish you spoons for physio, that can be rough <3
Thank you💜 Naps, lots of naps - naps and smoothies 😸 But it’s helping so very much❣️
