You guys are literally the first podcast/stream I’ve ever heard recommend Alclair IEM’s. I got my first pair of Tours in 2017-2018ish and I have been screaming from the rooftops since then how awesome this company is!! I was using a pair of 1964 universal fit ears for a long time (and loved them BTW), I ended up opting for the “more affordable” Alclair IEM’s and the quality of sound coming from them is nearly identical to the 1964’s. My customs fit right out of the box, and the audiologist didn’t use a bite block with me 🤫 but he did have me move my jaw around. Alclair is a fantastic company, I always highly reccomend them to all my people.

    • @DaveHamilton

I've used most custom-fit IEM brands out there, including Ultimate Ears, Sensaphonics, Future Sonics, Westone, JH Audio, and I'm sure at least one more I'm forgetting, and the Alclairs are right up there with them, at a fraction of the price. Even my "buddy deals" at some of these other manufacturers don't come close to beating Alclair's list prices. It's amazing.

You can see Jan playing the garget in the video, which is uploaded on You tube, of the MO's concert on the campus of Syracuse University. The discussion also talked about the keyboards sounding like a guitar. He’ll always be around. Tom Petty is the very best kind of immortal. The comment you made about Tom always being there, every day, every night, every weekend, with a song, and you know, it was always the right song for the moment, too, wasn’t it? I think our kids will remember him as they age and grow a little nostalgic for their childhoods, because he was The Soundtrack. I didn’t figure it out until after he passed, when I, like you, felt gut-punched. For a second there, piled on with all the other crap I was dealing with personally, for a second I just thought, “welp, that’s it. Tom Petty is gone and that seems like a pretty good reason to cash out here and move on to whatever comes next…” I even felt like a horrible faux-fan because I was so rapped up in my own crap that I had no clue they were doing a 4 nighter at the Bowl, which in retrospect I would kill or die for tickets to. I took him for granted BECAUSE he WAS always there… and always with the right song, wouldn’t you know it… I am really looking forward to seeing that show someday…

Saw Jan with Mahavishnu in late '73. There is no one...NO one...that has his sound. As soon as his fingers touch a keyboard, you know, and that is regardless of the instrument. He can play three notes on a Rhodes and the sound is there. One of my all time favorites!
