Forest of Dean Mini Enduro. Practice of Stage 1, 2, 3, and another run down Stage 1 that got exciting. Bonus bit of Banter from a marshal at the end just after Simon Dropped in. POV from the race runs are on the channel as separate edits. Apologies for any expletives.

Stone King Rally 2024 Day 6 Stage 4. The Final stage. This was stage was largely the same as 2023 but with a different start. A tricky sandy stage. I wanted to give it a bit of a push but it was really hard to carry speed in the sandy corners. I may have over ridden slightly in a few places. A great trail to finish and amazing event and to close out the Stone King Rally story. Photo credit Sven...
Stone King Rally 2024 D5 Stage 3

Stone King Rally 2024 D5 Stage 3, our first Molini trail of the event. I really enjoyed this stage, it was quite flat and pedally but that is ok for me. Early on I clipped my mech on a rock which generated some funny noises. There was a section where the trail scared me with a blind roller. Great trail again would love to go back and ride it again.

Stone King Rally 2024 Day 6 Stage 3. A Short and sharp run down a mini/local bike park trail. The first part was quite technical, I tried to carry good speed and stay off the brakes but really was wanting to get to the end clean. I tried to get some good pedal strokes in on the ups. Thanks to Ross Lambie for the clip at the end (It feels a lot faster than it looks)

Stone King Rally 2024 Day 6 Stage 2. Another long stage. The upper sections were fairly straightforwards where the main challenge was staying off the brakes and navigating the rocky features that kept coming. Then we moved into a beach forest where there were more rocks and the turns got really awkward. I ended up having a bit of a spill which was a bit frustrating as I felt like I had ridden p...

Stone King Rally 2024 Day 6 Stage 1. A great stage to start the last day. There was a bit of rain about but it didn't really effect the stage. There was quite a bit of pedalling and I was pleased to get up the cheeky punch. This was the first time in the week that I used all my travel. There was a wide section of corners. A good fun trial to ride would love to go back and have another go.

Stone King Rally 2024 Day 5 Stage 4. An Epic stage that had it all. Very much a highlight of the event (yes there are many). The sharp uphill after the fire road was a bit of a surprise to I ended up pushing until I was back up to riding speed. There was a fast section though grass which felt really fast and sketchy but still put a grin on your face. This stage was a great way to round off an e...

Wow great trail and good riding.
Thank you, I glad you enjoyed it.
@@jeffcalam is there any other coverage of the race? It’s hard to find videos except a few from last year SRAM provided.
@@snat6299 You are in luck the official Stone King Rally Edit came out today. It’s a good one. Have a look on the Stone King Rally TH-cam. th-cam.com/video/0A7S96CfGgM/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

😊 Simon and backpack Bernie 😂
Mega fella some big old crashes at pace glad you made it to the med 🤙🤙
Cheers Bernie 👍
Thank you for sharing all of this awesome footage. I am slated to ride this next month and it was cool to get a grip on the mixed terrain coming my way. Seems like somebody likes tight, steep switchbacks lolol. Congrats on riding all three SKR! Any tidbits to share about spares and mechanicals? Cheers :)
Oh, I meant two. That’s awesome!
Hi @andyf3342, I was down to ride SKR in 22 but unfortunately had a disc herniation just before the event so had to pull out which was a real shame. On the race we have support from SRAM which makes spares easier. In a addition to normal trail repair kit, I would recommend taking at least one spare tyre (that can run on Front or Rear) brake pads a chain, and anything on your bike that is unusual. It is probably worth getting some tyre repair stuff. You can get a kit from Lenzyne which is a bit like a large drawing pin that you can use to repair a tyre, I saw a few people using them during the event. It is probably a bit late now but serviced (and tuned) suspension makes a massive difference and having a well prepared bike is important and will make the trip a lot more enjoyable. Generally the mechanicals are punctures or due to crashing rather than problems with the bikes. The only problem I had was a damaged rear mech cage but SRAM fixed that for me. Are you riding the trails on a Club week or doing your own trip? Have a good trip. I would love to go back and ride the stages again.
@@jeffcalam Thanx for all the feedback!! Club Week, so will have a little bit of help from guides, but certainly not the mechanical support that you had for the race. I can’t wait!!
@@andyf3342 Club week will be great, enjoy sleeping in a bed 😂
Super helpful reminding me of this stage! Going to be very useful for the truncated race report, thanks for posting. How draggy was that climb at the start?!!!
No Worries DN, it is good to know someone finds them useful. The climb was a drag. I set a new Heart Rate PR!
how do you prepare for a race like this? Good job! love your videos!
Hi @enricoriberi5136, you need to have good base fitness to make it through the week so that is lots of low intensity work and getting out on some big days to practice spending time in the saddle. You need good strength to some gym work is recommended. For the stages you need to be able to ride a variety of trails so the more experience you can get on different trails trying to ride fast the better. Although I have to say Stone King Rally is more than a Race it is a great adventure with lots of like minded people having a great time. Good luck with what ever events you are planning to enter.
@@jeffcalam thank you so much for your response! it's actually inspiring! Wish u the best!
at 6:53 i had a huge crash... Thanks for putting up all the vids mate.
Oh No! Was that due to Sven telling you to do the Left Line. I made it through but it was a bit sketchy. My forks are not very happy after my spill on this stage. Hopefully see you on the trails sometime soon.
@@jeffcalam Yes indeed, Sven pointed me in the right direction. The execution was mediocre at best 🙂. Luckily I only had body damage and the bike was ok, spent a solid minute on the floor getting myself sorted together with Sven. I think you started that stage a few guys infront of me. Another guy started in front without a working mech, so he couldn't pedal the fast bits...
Great trail 😊
It is a great trail
This is a really good trail.

I had a crash on that exact same spot 😅

Nice one Jeff, great trails at Woburn. Have to meet up there in the summer. Good to see Simon stacks his bike almost as much as his snowboard! Cheers, Peteski
