      Hi Mike it is Don WARRENER. What a pleasant surprise. I was talking three days about you when I was talking about how JEAN Claude Van Damme and Wally SLOCKI had the best side kick I have ever seen and someone said what about Mike Wran? I said your right his side kick was perfect as well. Stay well Mike and may the force be with you young man.

      Hello, Mister Don WARRENER. i'm so glad to be able to connect with you. it's been a very long time since we last seen each other . i was young then, not so much now. i'm 65 and i hope the force does stays with me. how have you been? where are you calling home these day's? i'm in beaumont, alberta. been out here a few times over the years but this last stint has been since 2008. here to stay this time. you know i have to ask you. who in the heck would even remember me from those days, let alone put me in a category like that. WHO? if i was asked the same question who were the top 2 side kicks. i would agree Wally Slocki as one but i would add Greg Mellor as one also. never seen Mr. Van Damme's side kick but i'll take your word for it, it's good. i thought i was forgotten so this is a very big surprise, pleasantly at that. good to hear from you take care your friend, mike

      @@donwarrener1843 Hi Don, you’re welcome. I trained in San Jose under Sensei Colin Kageyama by Oakridge Mall if you know the area. Our dojo would go to San Francisco for testing under Sensei Kim. He would impart his wisdom on us after the testing and training. I’ve got a funny story. I think it was 1983 our dojo was up there for a big promotion followed by a buffet style meal. When it was time to eat all us kids ran to the buffet table. Then we were scolded by our Sensei for our impatience and rudeness not letting the head Sensei go first. We’re you there for that?

  • @samiibrahim3082
    @samiibrahim3082 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dear commentors please be more considerate, Frank Richard Trejo was born in Bakersfield, CA on December 24, 1952. He passed away on April 11, 2018 at the age of 65. He was loved by so many around the world and close to home. Frank Trejo was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, friend and Grand Master of the martial arts Kenpo Karate. Frank loved being able to teach his craft and wisdom around the globe. In the last few years, his health started to diminish which sadly caused him to have multiple amputations. Nonetheless, it didn't stop him from doing what he loved most, teaching. Frank had a big heart and a lot of love for life, always knowing how to have a good time and enjoying the moment. His great big smile and laughter will truly be missed. Consider this if you are a student of Kenpo, your instructors and the instructors who taught them were all very respectful to Frank Trejo, at least in his face which is all that matters as talking behind his back would be a coward's way. So, if your own instructors knew enough about this man to respect his accomplishments and knowledge maybe you should not be jumping to conclusions when looking at footage of him well past his prime

    People here should be ashamed of their insults towards Master Trejo RIP. He was great in his day before disease and poor fortune changed his life. He was a wonderful caring teacher and practitioner of his art. Kenpo was designed to be a self defense oriented art, not a fighting offensive art. That is up to the individual to do as they choose. Millions of people have benefitted from kenpo.

      He was in bad health. Try to find videos of him in his prime. You'll subconsciously think "I wouldn't say this to his face in his prime". I see what you are saying but you shouldn't just watch one video and judge a grand Master. And just from me, I'm also an American Kenpo Purple belt from the old system of 24 techniques per belt. That would make me almost a brown belt with today's standards. And I can tell you that with his body type (imperfect), he's executing his techniques very crisp and dead on. His form is relaxed because he can shoot from any position. He's a grand master for christ sake. If you understood the art more, you would be able to see his perfect execution, while seeing how a newb would think it's sloppy.
