You should not build the bridge, so the monsters cant cross to your base on ruin portal, they keep sinking to water and died because of drowning. those Dwellers and horror monsters cant float nor swim.

And since kelp doesnt seem to spawn you could make a mob farm (using the cobblestone you gather): for exp and also resourses such as rotten flesh ( for despret times of hunger) and BONES for bone meal so that you can speed run a coltivation with maybe the seads that you may get from drestroying grass on land. Just not make the mob farm too large if not you'll get other company instead of zombies and skeletons ;)

you could also kill the screaming sheep for wool

if you wanna pick up in a boat every type of animal or mob you must first get off the boat and after push the boat to the mob/animal you wanna take but if it's a hostile mob it will hit you on the boat so keep that in mind.

btw you can zoom in even more if you use your scroll wheel when you zoom in
