Jenny is a very analytical person. She can see the big picture with only a couple pieces of the jigsaw puzzle. At the very least, she’s the kind of person who can predict the final picture. That’s why this keeps happening to her. It’s a curse. I’ve always just called it Observationitis. She’s got it severe. She can’t stop noticing things.

Palpatine surviving in clone bodies was actually canon since 1991, long before Disney acquired Lucasfilms, in the "Dark Empire" comic books. Back then, it was Grandmaster Luke who had to defeat him. I'm pretty sure that's where the idea was taken from. So, just this once, Jenny is innocent

welp, I've become one of those people. Ahem.. actually, Palpatine had several clones in the comics that he transferred his mind to but he gets worse with each and every clone. Luke even fought and beat at least one of them.

this is nothing new at all. the palpatine clone thing is a material from the EU/Legends comic book Dark Empire, published in 1991. it's rightfully deemed as one of the worst EU/Legends among great ones like New Jedi Order.

Force users cannot be cloned. The force is with the individual, not the dna or whatever. This is one of the many things that makes their whole story so weird lol Back in legends, which they should re-canonize large sections of, the sith emperors were forced to create clones of themselves that they could then possess. The Hands of the emperor, who typically seemed to be female, I think maybe because the clone couldn't be a true clone or something, they had to be close, but different. idk but I'm thinking specifically of Mara Jade first, and to a lesser extent Kira Carson from SWTOR. Rey absolutely should have been a Hand, and should have had to fight off that, and that would have been poetic with finn joining the good guys and kylo being pulled to the light. Honestly kylo shouldn't have been good to begin with, he should have left luke for totally selfish reasons, which would further enhance the story. Also, snoke should have been another Hand of the emperor or darth plagueis or something. Just something to make him not nobody lol If he was a hand, it could have been that there was no need for rey to turn dark before that point, but once they defeated him she starts getting pulled, because she is another candidate.

I actually would’ve been more upset if it WAS the same Palpatine from the other two trilogies cause then that actually would negate everything.
