A favorite piece. Thank you
For a pet aversion of Dave Hurwitz it is surprisingly pleasant, clear, aerated, perpetually inventive, playful with a subjacent irony always in command.
Most Excellent ! Fine performance. Very enjoyable. Sadly neglected. This really should played in concert halls around the world.
Refreshing and modern and fun to listen to. Why do so many insist on invidious comparisons? Prokoviev? Gallic?

Are there more than two acts of this?
Stravsinsky makes Back sound very modern and relevant today:)
American jazz eclipsed Western art music in the decades 1950s and to the end of the 1960s. This composer is one of the best exceptions. Stockhausen became the interesting one to read about, while few honestly enjoyed the listening experience. When composition became over rando and mostly noise instead of organized sounds, it was an academic obligation to say the rest of us were too old. Nonesense proliferated. Why should anyone feel obliged to drink the myriad philosophies of white male eurocrats? It's not our job. Kidding yourselves for sake of going along. Get some courage and express your real dissatisfactions.
Milhaud is so inexhaustible. I wonder if I am wrong when I think I hear echoes of him in some things by Pousseur.
LOVE this 'Keqrops' and as per usual this extinct youtube channel has found the best image for the piece. If i have a favourite moment it would be the brief outburst of tom toms. It's like a freak occurance.
Держи нос по ветру а хвост "пистолетом".
So avant-garde, such loss to the world of culture🙏🏽💚🫂✡️🕊✨️
Bijzonder symfonie
It's true : Janos Meszaros conducts this Orchestra : Miskolci Szimfonikus Zenekar (1996)
Hello. I am the photographer that took the photo you have used here. Thanks for the credit and I hope you are doing great. Haunting voices, btw.
5:51 sounds like ending of Bartok's fifth quartet.
Bartok is much more ascerbic and humourless.
@kmrerk Idk, I just meant melody, Bartok's use of this theme is more humorous
This is fantastically beautiful music.
This is brilliantly conducted by Henze. Would it be possible to post the translation? Do you have it? If not, I have it on the original record cover. It so much adds to the enjoyment to understand how colourfully Henze has composed the piece!
Also listen to the chinese and english version on youtube! 😅😊
I had this recording on dgg since 1968. It is so good to hear this version, which has minor subtle differences, but most of all no crackling from the old often played 33 vinyl. Thanks so much for posting!
I discovered Schnittke's work three days ago and I keep asking myself: how can he be so little known? He's already among my favorite composers. Generally, among the more modern composers, I feel that they went down a path where there was something lacking in translating classical music to the present day. Not with Schnittke. He made the right evolution.
Does anyone know the title of this amazing painting by Robert Genn?
Que saco
Based
Thanks for posting this fantastic performance by Sergio!
Гимн жизни.
I like this one 💚🎶
Beauty!
Superb! Rudely interrupted by these inane ADs...otherwise, Bravo!
A Damn Good Strong work of Music. ❤
This is fascinating! I want to turn it off but i just can't. Its too interesting. I need to hear this to the end. Some this harmonies are quite poignant. Neoclassical all the way. He sounds nothing like Hindemith and yet it reminds me of Hindemith in this eork. The Fugue. Damn, i hate it!, NO, I Like It !!! This is sn outrage ! No, its Outstanding !
Hmm… If this is a jest, then where is the humour?
Многие произведения слушаю часто. Это слушаю впервые. Оч. хорошо, что нет видеоряда, не отвлекает.. Просто слушаю и смотрю в глоза этого Чуда Природы
While some of Martin's music is a tiny bit too arid or dissonant for my general taste (hey, I have my conservative moments), I absolutely LOVE both of his piano concerti. The first work of his I ever was in contact with was the Ballade for Flute, which I accompanied for a flautist friend. I particularly love Martin's approach to contrapuntal material.
❤🎉😂😊 great music
What is it about ALL Russian music that touches and uplifts the soul..?? From the icicle balaleika to the vast orchestration of Shostakovich or Prokofiev..??
Alexander Mosolov is the only one I like out of all the Futurism Music composers
Im at a point where i am captivated from the outset by nearly all wuorinens compositions. He is less dense and by some measures considerably shallow compared to EC or Maderna but i have long said and still maintain that wuorinen is the easy listening bridge to much of modern music. He is to serialism what Gershwin was to opera.
What is the artwork please?
❤
RIP 🙏🙏🙏😥😔😞
magnificent piece! how unfortunate that I only discovered this composer after he passed away
So Levine is also the pianist here?
Good choice of picture.
Annoying.
