This is my 1950 Ford Coupe future daily driver project. This project is not intended to be a hot rod, but a dependable daily driver capable of doing 30,000 miles a year dependably and economically back and forth to work and everything in between. I am finally getting some progress on this project and showing how to bring back from the dead some frozen hood hinges. I hope you enjoy, and please g...

This once inexpensive .40 S&W JHP ammunition from Remington UMC was a big box store special right alongside the Winchester white box, which was once a highly cost-effective choice for both defense and target shooting. The UMC comes in boxes of 50 or 200 rounds, which are advertised to fire a 180-grain jacketed hollow point bullet at 1,015 feet per second. I first tested this ammunition back in ...

Good video
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.
Since I have a 270 win and i only hunt blacktail, hog, and pronghorn it doesnt make sense to buy any of these calibers😂
I don't know either, but she's sure pretty. Wish I had one like her!!!
I wish I had one too; I could haul the whole family in style. Thank you so much for leaving a comment and watching.
I'm not sure whether this is a 1946, 1947, or 1948 Chevy sedan, or even a 1942. If you know, please leave a comment below. Thank you so much for watching! Please give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more videos.
Dick Fairburn speaks highly of this bullet design.
I will have to check out his channel and that episode. Thank you for the suggestion.
@EDCBALLISTICs he doesn't have a specific tape about them. But listening throughout all his tapes, he speaks highly of them.
I own the 6,5 CM and 30-06 in this lineup and they will win because they're easier to find ammo anywhere
@@joztunes69 The .30-06 Springfield and 6.5 Creedmoor are widely available at any store I have been to, while unfortunately, the .300 PRC most stores in my area have to order it and seems to be harder to find. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment.
Awsome 😊
This is just one of many full-length videos on 40 S&W and other calibers that I have on my channel, EDC Ballistics. Thank you so much for watching! Please give it a like and a comment, if you please; it really helps my channel out, and it also shows TH-cam that you're not anti-gunner.
where dafaq is 300 prc
They were fresh out; hopefully, they'll have some more next time.
@@VerySpecialEDD I'll talk to my friends at the ammo store to see if we can get some ordered. Thank you for leaving a comment.
These are the top-selling rifle rounds at Redline Ballistics. Thank you so much for watching! Please let me know which ones are your favorites.
I seen underwood 135 grain hollow from g27 muzzle energy reach 585
Now that's a hard-hitting round coming out of a short barrel! I have a video presentation using a 3-inch barrel, a short version, and a long version if you're interested. Thank you so much for commenting.
Price
Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to give out prices. TH-cam has a prohibition on gun channels giving out prices for 2A-related items. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Nice video
Thank you for dropping by.
Those early 50s cars have so much personality , what a beautiful car.
They do indeed; I have been fond of those Ford shoeboxes since high school, when one of my classmates would drive his dad's 1950 two-door sedan to auto shop class. Thank you for watching.
thanks for the test ...
You're very welcome, and thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
that's alot less than the claimed 588 ft-lbs of energy
Definitely a bit underwhelming but I'm planning to run it through some longer barrels and see what we get.
I own all 3 of the prc line up 6.5 /7mm/300 absolutely fantastic chamberings the 7mm dose great in a 20" with 180 eldm doing 2900 the 300 prc dose best with barrels at least 24" and truthfully 26-28" becuase of the slow powders and big bullets it runs im running 245 eol at 2875 with h1000 out of a 28"1-9" twist proof and the 6.5 prc runs a 140 berger vld at 3030 fps from a with single digit es and sd with h4831sc h100 has shot great but out of all three 6.5 prc and 140s the es was 30-36 and i dont run loads with es over 20 anything more and dispersion at 1k+ gets ridiculous
Thank you so much for giving your input on many of those awesome cartridges. I'm looking for another hunting caliber for mule deer; I already have the .30-30. Do you have any recommendations for a further-reaching, relatively flat-shooting caliber?
@EDCBALLISTICs in 30 cal....300 wsm or 300 prc with preference to the 300 prc and 208 eldm or 212 eldx or 215 berger with the 24" barrels and 230 otm or 245 eol in 28"
@@stephenferguson6363 Thank you for your input; I really appreciate it.
Thank you for doing a video on this! Everyone says 9mm is so much better than 40 but that's only because they go off of FBI specs. FBI uses 135 grain 9mm +P Hornady Critical Duty but when you compare same grain, or around same grain, .40 hollow point you can compare apples to apples and see the difference
The .40 caliber, at least in the testing I have done, is more powerful and more effective than the 9mm. The .40 S&W punches a bigger hole, expands hollow points more effectively, and penetrates better. The .40, at least for my needs, is better in every way when it comes to performance when you compare the average 9mm to the average .40 S&W. Thank you so much for watching and for leaving a comment.
Much appreciate this testing, not only on this particular line of Federal low priced HP/SD (which im seeing online and wondering about) but also in the 40cal! So these perform, sufficient penetration and expands, even for the shortest barrels, which i prefer for EDC. Lower priced so we could train more with the actual carry ammo! What's not to like?
Well, thank you so much for watching and commenting; it really helps my channel out. If you like .40 caliber, you're in a good place, and there will be plenty of other budget rounds I'll be testing out in the near future. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing your results.
You're welcome, and thank you so much for taking the time to comment and like. It really helps the channel out.
Reliable performance. Looks like a viable budget option.
I have been fairly impressed with it so far. Seems like a top contender for everyday. Thanks for watching

Federal HSTs. 160g. 180g is fine too but I prefer the extra speed. All I'll carry in my M&P 40. Tried and true.✌
@@Thedoug369 Yes, thank you for the suggestion! I think that's probably the route I'll take. I have already done some testing with the short-barrel M&P Shield using the 165 and 180 grain HST. I’ve used those hold on press in compression testers before. Prefer the screw in type. More accurate.

40 ford coupe is a bucket list car for me i would be perfectly fine with a woodie
I have a soft spot in my heart for the 1940s Ford. I remember riding around in my dad's '40 Deluxe coupe when I was a kid.
绝美的,漂亮。
The 1940 Ford Deluxe and Standard are some of the most beautiful cars ever made in my opinion. Thank you for watching.
Beautiful car, but it would have been a nightmare keeping it looking good as a daily. I imagine they rotted faster than all steel cars.
@@Ducatiworkshop I would love to have a woody wagon. Although, I believe you're correct that the upkeep would be a pain. I think the Plymouth's 1949 Suburban, which was the first station wagon with an all-steel body, would be a better fit for me.

I think I would prefer the speedster model as open air in one of these would be great. The closed cab would feel claustrophobic.
Yeah, these early coupes are pretty small inside, and you can never beat a Roadster for having fun.

Awesome, I've been loknig for short-barrelled 40 testing (in this gun exactly), but everyone uses the G27, which has a 3.42" barrel. Great comparison, exactly what a few of us wanted to see!
Well, thank you for watching, and if you haven't already, I hope you subscribe. I do have some more videos coming up specializing in the 3-inch barrel for .40 Smith & Wesson because I don't think anybody's really doing it; everybody does 9mm.
