Nissan Versa door lock actuator - opening door with failed latch
Came across this problem and I made this video for any one else stuck with their door shut. Before you attempt this make sure your cables/linkages are all attached and working.

Jesus Christ, can you get some actual useful lighting? I thought I was seeing the Virgin Mary.
Same here with a 2010 Altima passenger door locked. Was able to remove the door panel. Now I have to figure out the wire method. Any input is appreciated. Update: the wire did not work. I ended up cutting the old actuator using a dremel, there is plenty room for it. It worked.
Am dealing with now 😢
id love to see you do it at all cause it's impossible
honestly man a light would've been useful
can see shit bro
Big help, I have My own “wire design” now after some trials. I will earn some bucks as a handy man 😊😅 on parking lots.
Need a light
U didn't show how to open the door
How did you actually open the driver side door?..video was dark and some what confusing.
This worked for me, thanks so much for posting this!
Very helpful!! Thank you!!
This didn’t work for me. I ran the hangar along the black metal U fixture that the door locks on - and nothing was actually on it. It seems to be the gear in the actuator that locks and unlocks the door. Disconnected the rod from keyhole to actuator (plastic fitting holding rod). My idea was to keep clicking the unlock button and putting pressure on the direction the rod would have pushed the plastic arm of the actuator. After 2 clicks, the plastic arm gave way like it stripped and the door was able to be opened. About 11 hours over 2 days and got it. Lined it up good with WD-40 silicone and regular spray. Seems to be working good. Will leave door panel off, just in case. And will replace actuator in the next week. 🙂
My sons latch wouldn't release even when I did this. So I pulled the B pillar cover looked in bottom large hole and drilled a one inch hole behind the latch. Then I took a large flathead screwdriver and a hammer and destroyed the plastic latch cause i was replacing it anyway. Now if it happens again I can get the door open and change the actuator in 15mins tops. Nissan should build better vehicles.
Thanks, man this was a big help. tried everything to on this Altima divers door ripped out the door panel and was unable to manually activate it. I saw your video 6 hrs too late the whole day's gon lol but thanks to your hanger trick I tried it on the passenger door and in less than 5 mins was able to get the drivers free. Big ups
Door lock actuat o r assy
Very dark can't see.
shitty video
Warm your car up and wait a while if you can get in another door
I’ve been trying this for 2 days and I cannot get it. I need help
Hi I have the same case, and I removed inside cover, but I can't open the door ?
That procedure you tried to show won't work on my sister in law's Versa. Cannot access that side of the latch when you he door is closed! Not a good video!
You can access it but you can't see it, you have to make your tool and reference the location of the latch bases on the other side. It can be time consuming but it works. The only alternatives I've seen to it are cutting it and breaking it with a chisel.
Who from 2k18
I have a 2012 Altima and my passenger rear door is stuck locked and the cable got broke all the way to the actuator any tips on how I can get the door open
Raymond Owens did you find a solution?
Zero One I did but it was pure luck it just randomly opened one day so I swapped out actuators I did have to go to a junkyard for the parts though because nobody had them
THANKS, I have the same problem on my 2011 maxima. I hope this will help
What the Hell Nissan! I can no longer open the trunk hatch because of this.

@McLarenMercedes Alright man, something from 3 years ago and you come hatin'? I do understadn finnish but i dont see in making an effort to convince you. Anyway, This vid is made in Finland with a german car but its hard to understand the guys talking.
@WizzyThaMan Oh, so if it's a German car that automatically means it's from Germany? If I see a tuned Alfa Romeo, then it must mean it's filmed in Italy right? Or an American muscle car, then it must be in the USA? The poster of the video says it's from Finland, and people speaking the language hear it too. First you say you "understand finnish" which I highly doubt you do,then you say you can't understand what they are saying, and yet you understand German And that's audible not "hearable"
There is in small numbers 1k 2k and 3k rpm.

heh, funny that two guys arque about the language and the location of this vid. but ill end it. Yes this car and video is from Finland. and the guy at the end says "nyt on Volvo täynnä/täysillä" it means they are driving a Volvo and its on topspeed. i quess its going 200-220km/h on that point.
That was 300km/h????? Wow it goes like an airoplane!!!
Cool MK1
ok i listened to it you are quite right, but the highway looks pretty damn like a german one and so does the license plate.
