Toyota Sienna- How To Install New 6x9 Speaker Using The Old Stock Speaker
มุมมอง 53K11 ปีที่แล้ว
How to reuse the stock cheap toyota door speaker to install a New aftermarket 6x9 speaker of your choice.
Hahaha el chipo
I do shit like that using the same footwear as yourself. Comfortable shoes are Comfortable shoes.
Thats awesome because im thinking of buying a used one im also good at fixing these things
Don't ever listen or believe all those electricians nor mechanics. They are liars and thiefs. Either you learn to fix it yourself or burn it.
I just had this happen to mine. Same fuse. Thank you for this!
I follow your advise to use stock speakers body as a podiums for the replacement ones. It works! But I would like to improve it a bit: to avoid cutting the door panel I did removed the full inner and outer ring part out of the old speakers. Basically only the "walls" and the basement left in place. That cause new speaker to sat deeper into the doorframe and the door panel sit back in place without any ugly cutting procedures. New Pioneer TS-A6967S - 6"x 9" speakers fit and sound perfectly with stock audio, bass and clarity improved on my 2004 Sienna. Thanks for sharing your idea mate.
You had a High Pitch noize and did not turn on...I have an ocassional;ly BUZZ but the unit Turns On.... any idea what can be? thanks
I have no idea. Monster Cable had a third party build these for them and no one knows where to get the schematics or wiring diagram at least that's what I was told. So far mine is still working. When it dies it will probably be a expensive paperweight
Adapter speakers metra 10 dls
And I thought I was the only one that did this. Great Job!
Thanks Gerald! Fantastic video!
Mine just started this humming noise, I unplug it for 10 minutes and does not make the humming noise. Hope this fixed it? and it is not the capacitors?
I have an occasionally Buzz as well... and the unit turns on....any aidea?

Perfect. Have a 2008 Sienna second hand gift, just put in subs, now 6x9 time. Saving me a ton of work!
Excellent. It saved me a lot of time from modifying the adapters I purchased that didn't work.
If u can find in a junk yard JBL front speakers the bracket is better than the regular OEM bracket! Less work and cutting!
Great job. Hope it sounds as good as it looks.
Thanks ! and yes it did
Thanks for the vid and I’m glad you got it working with a fuse. The repair shop would have charged you an hour rate plus the fuse. loll
Thanky you very much for this. I'm going to be attempting it today with the help from this video.
Please let me know how it worked out for you
Awesome thank you for this. That exact paper speaker is in my wife's 07' solara... it's garbage! I was just about to order the brackets online but kept reading they had bad fitment...etc. But this is a great video! Thank you! Can't wait to order new speakers now!
Thanks Gerald. Just what I needed!
Nice job... As I watched it just got better
id like to know how I could use 6x9's in my 2000 Toyota Avalon the size mids this car uses stock in very small in my opinion at least for me I have the bass set up already with two jbl 12's in the trunk at about 1k watts at 2ohms however the mids an lows get drowned out pretty esily by the bass ! I have an aftermarket HU installed I also bypassed the factory amp as well! I also compnet speakers in the front ! 5 3/4 sized mids and 1inch surface mount tweeters with passive xovers installed as well! its an improvement but still kinda weak ! I really want to be able to go with a bigger sized mid range!
Thank you very much for the video. I bought aftermarket adapters for new 6x9 and they didn't work. I almost sent it all back to amazon. now all I have to send back is the adapters and keep the new infinity kappa speakers... Thanks again, Robert
Thanks Robert
this is how to no install speakers on the toyota sienna. pure shit
I ordered up some Pioneer A6965R 6x9's from Crutchfield and their supplied adapter plates worked perfectly with plenty of room for the window in my 2008 Sienna LE (non jbl). Crutchfield is great for either figuring out what works (they error on the side of caution though because the Pioneers were not listed as a item that fit my vehicle but they did, their tech support was able to confirm it just barely was outside the measurement range so it should fit which it did)for your vehicle but also they take the hassle out of figuring out what brackets, adapters and installation steps you need to do. In most cases the price of the extras bring the price very close to just buying from Crutchfield. I have also used their tech support 10+ times on both of my vehicle upgrades these last 2 months. Their return policy was great, I returned 3 sets of speakers and 3 head units due to various sound issues and functional issues(not Crutchfields fault, simply wasn't happy with Rockford Prime sound and kenwood head unit bluetooth functionality for more than 1 device.) For those watching this, this method works but you can get a easier install with aftermarket 6x9 brackets. The low end pioneer 6965R sounded better than stock speakers on factory head unit power and aftermarket deck power. Once amped they scream. Thanks to Gerald for the ideas here.
Where did you put the amp? And what kind of amp did you use?
Thanks. Very nice job.
Gerald: first class video instructions bud! Question. Did you notice a substantial sound improvement ? Did you replace all or just front door speakers? Lastly, is it stock stereo-amp etc, or did you install a new receiver too? Helpful vid and thanks in advance for any help. Wm.~
real professional job...
SCOTCHE & METRA MAKE A AFTERMARKET MOUNT & HARNESS SO NO CUTTING AND SOLDERING NEEDED, I DID THAT KINDA THING WHEN IT WAS'NT AVAILUABLE YET IN BRAND NEW CARS.. THEN I CAN PUT THE OLD ONES BACK IN WHEN I SELL THE CAR, AGAIN WITHOUT HASSLE. R.T.T.I. GRADUATE MASTER. ALPINE SILK DOME COAXIAL 6X9 ARE MY CHOICE. FOR ECONO GOOD SOUND ALPINE OR J.L. WOOFERS ARE WHAT I PUT IN MY CAR!! GOOD VID THO! TAKE CARE, CROD
What kind of handheld saw is it that you are using to trim the old speaker bracket? That seems pretty useful. Thanks for making this great vid, hope this will work in a 2011+ Sienna as well.
This is great. If you make a video showing where and how you put in the subs and amps that would be amazing.
This is PURE genius Gerald! I just ordered JBL GTO938's for my wife's van. Can't wait to pair them to the sweet new double din JVC 910 which is awesome! SO glad I found this! I like the finishing touch of reusing the factory speaker terminals, and adding some weather stripping. Thanks for sharing!
Hey, Thanks for the comment. That's exactly what I was doing. The Wife's van. I paired up with kenwood double din radio. And she loved it. Although I did add a couple amps with a Sub woofer box. Sound is incredible
I put in kicker DS693 6x9 Speakers
Can you let me know what speakers you are using? Thx
Kit_music they are finger in your ass speakers
Will this method work for JBL GTO938 speakers? Thanks
