If, through your router, you port forward to that machine from the internet and restrict any connections that are not your home ip. Simple remoting and its kinda hybrid.

can you comment more on the agent encryption? for example, if i am using my web interface locally but have agents installed on hosts over the internet, would those be encrypted? i would have a lets encrypt cert installed as well.

in the taskmanager its showing as "meshcentral background service agent" .. can we customize this sir ? I tried changing description but its not getting update for some reason

It doesn´t work for me (changed config.json on meshcentral server, opened firewall to allow relay-port, restart server). I get a blank page, if I try to open https e.g. on my integrated mailserver, where is a webserver with webgui on port 443 installed. What is going wrong?

Hi, did you remove "SSH Connect" and "SFTP Connect" (I use version 1.1.27)? I only have "Connect" for ssh and sftp, what is the connection with the remote agent I guess. Thanks for this great software!

Theres some SERIOUS limitations when using Mesh from a mobile device ive discovered so far. You cannot scroll through through things like the start menu. You have to hope you have another relatively easy way to start other apps that are farther down the start menu program list. You cannot double click on anything (yes you can switch to right click mode and make it work but its a bit annoying). By extension you cannot click+drag in anyway (probably not something youd NEED to do but still). Overall it'll work in a pinch, but mobile use is definitely not an amazing experience. AnyDesk is what I was using before exploring Mesh, and they have a pretty touch-friendly experience these days, though that's of course through a native app and not a browser. It's serviceable enough to get by, but if you have to do anything that will take longer than a few minutes, grab your laptop! Not trying to crap on the project, Im loving Mesh so far and all its features. Any chance we'll ever see a native mobile app for Mesh??? :)

so this is similar to tailscale subnet router, only difference is that we get a full device management suite? Also, can a local device be managed from a self hosted public instance of Meshcentral without agent relay method?

Thanks for the video! Is there an way to change the process name? In task manager it shows "MeshCentral Background Service Agent", can it show the name from the "serviceName": ? When i click "expand" on the process name, then it shows the serviceName like configured... But i would like to rename the full name

They have to use the same database instance? Like literally a connection to the same host? It's not two linked databases but a single db? This would mean if there's an issue communicating with the db, those peers will cease to function?

That's a great feature. But somehow it does not work on a setting with a docker-compose-based system behind a reverse-proxy (without open AMT-ports). Anyone can help?

Unfortunately, SMTP is not working for me. I get the error message "SMTP mail server MY.MAIL.SERVER.FQDN failed: {"code":"ETIMEDOUT","command":"CONN"}" in the shell.

It would be interesting how to install meshcentral with traefik or nginx-proxy-manager in homelab (not on a vps!). I spent hours on this and I couldn't get it to work. The documentation is not usefull in this case.

Hello, first thank you for the product, and your videos are a bliss to watch. I was searching, but couldnt find it, is it possible to edit in the details tab on the web? Like the name "Mash Agent", can that be edited to some other text and is there a guide how/where to look for :)?

Do you have to add these values to the config.json file, or has this been moved to another file in later releases? I ask because my .json file is missing everything after the "domains": section. Thank you for such an awesome product by the way.
