Great time of life!

I always feel happy when this show comes on. Grandma fixed a jello salad that we disliked, until we just refused to eat it anymore. Otherwise her dishes were good and she had a mid century brick ranch in the country, then a suburb sprang up across the street. She was a good homemaker whose crafts and good taste encompassed everything. Always a kid friendly 😊dog and a cat, too.

I started collecting old radio shows thirty years ago. I ran across a CD of the Kraft Music Hall with Bing Crosby, December 1941. From there I found Jack Benny, Fibber McGee and Molly, Sam Spade , the Shadow, Nero Wolfe and so much more! Still listening to them today. Great stuff. I wonder what they would have thought if they knew people would still be enjoying their shows decades after they were gone.

Jack Benny was such a wonderful comedian, and still is, long after he left this earth. Frank Nelson was Benny's best radio adversary! His brilliant deliveries were spot on! Love to both.

The way Jack allowed his supporting cast to shine (and continually get the better of him) is what made his shows so great. Frank Nelson was a force of nature with a unique style. Jack Benny's Christmas shopping episode is one of the funniest programs ever made. Frank Nelson is wonderful in that, though of course it's Mel Blanc who really steals the show.
