Since this Aria comes into the 5th hour of Meistersinger, I'm sure hes well used to singing it at midnight exhausted. Perhaps it is a clever choice for that reason.

WOW! That is some F-wording crazy singing. I apologize for the explicative, but it's the only word that fits. He not only cranks out the sound but does it expressively as well. I won't even get into the fact that it was an encore after an entire recital that I'm sure was no walk in the park. Bravo Mr. Heppner.
