Terry and Angel Marolt bought Bob Dylan's childhood home at 7th Ave East (renamed Bob Dylan Drive) and 25th Street from Beatty Zimmerman for $22,000 in 1967. The Marolts sold the home to Gregg French for $50,000 in 1990. French sold the house to Dylan archivist Bill Pagel for $320,000, easily three times its intrinsic value, in 2019. Pagel told the Minneapolis Star Tribune: “I paid way too much...

Just over twenty years ago I traveled from Ottawa with a girlfriend to Hibbing to try to find Dylans childhood home. Wasn't exactly sure which house it was but kno ked on a couple of doors. One old guy across the street po Ted me in the general direction said he remembered "Bobby" from when he was a kid. Then went to the neighbour of Dylans house by mistake lovely woman who told me that when the new owners of Dylans old house moved in they had his crib from when he was a baby and they offered it to them because they had a new child but they said no they didn't need it! Eventually met the guy who lived in Dylans old house he was very friendly and was a local guy. He took our photo on the steps. Everyone around there seemed just down to earth and friendly.

Nice upload. I was also at the Orpheum gig, and I agree with you that this show was particularly good and is my personal favorite of all the shows I've seen starting with 86 in Minneapolis with Petty and the Heartbreakers headlining a show opened by the Grateful Dead. I'm from KC. Wondering where you hail from, since you mentioned Sioux City as being "close" to your hometown. Stay kind and thanks again for your work posting this stuff.

Great stories. Here is one for Mr Cohn: YES Bob Dylan is a nice generous person and FUNNY! I have been a fanatical type fan since the mid 70s. He was generous to Indiana showing up annually at least or so. I’ve see him at least 50 times. Sooo… 2004. Chronicles had just been released. A dozen of us left as before the encore so we could go to the theatre stage door. We cheered for the band as they exited and got in the buses. Then he appeared at the door - the lights around him seemed like a halo! My then 14 year old son ( I think my son aided the cause) hollered to him “hey Bob can you sign our books?” He came toward us and we all just went crazy - about a dozen or so - my gang was only 4 of the people. So my son greets him telling him that his mom (me) has been a fan a long time and that he also enjoys his songs. He shook hands and said thanks. My friend stood shoulder to shoulder telling him that she enjoyed the parts about New Orleans because she lived there a year before he did. He quips, “wish I’d a known ya!” My son held the books open as he signed our books. Eventually I had a chance to greet him and just asked if I could kiss his cheek and he said, “sure” and stuck his cheek out! As sweet as could be! Soon after there would be a lot more security and not so easy ability for him to flex like that. I share this to tell people ge would if he could! (Be nice to us all) I hope Mr Cohn sees this!

I love this song (a standard Dylan would have heard in his youth and not necessarily by Sinatra) and Dylan's versions of it. It is a song that has been quite fluid in Dylan's hands, but never without respect or feeling for what makes it great. Thanks for posting this!
