How to cross the La Hormiga border Colombia to Ecuador
This border crossing was one of the most easiest and smoothest border crossings since I've been on the road. At the end of the video I do a recap of the process step by step.

EP51 - Patty dropped her bike twice!
มุมมอง 195หลายเดือนก่อน
It was a tough ride heading to the Tatacoa Desert. One of my favorite routes here in Colombia. Although Patty dropped her bike twice we still had a blast. Tough terrain, water crossings, bridges and tunnels. An unforgettable ride here in Colombia. Thanks for watching #ténéré700 #hondaxre300 #advriders #desiertodelatatacoa #mototravel

This ride has been one of the most challenging rides I've ever done. High mountains in the deep mud with a heavy bike can be very unforgiving. #tenere700#ecuador#motorcycletravel

@@glowingupmeeks2892 😂😂😂 it was a perfect fit. That’s how I felt when I was sleeping there.
Awesome. I know that I am like a 2 maybe 3 banana guy. Lol. That was fun to watch though.

Bro I want to do a trip from Tennessee to Costa Rica and this is the most helpful informative video I found. This will get mentally ready for the chaos crossing the borders
hey, welcome to the channel. glad I could help.
Dang, broken bikes, crashes, field repairs, flat tires, mud all of it. Do you do the road through Toche to get there?
yea man, it was the real deal. lol, yep! the road to Toche which was really cool.
Glad you're ok!.. as well as the Rider who wiped out in the mud (which was awesome).
It was such an awesome ride. Glad to see you’re back on the road
We are so happy to see a happy Quintin! Thanks for the awesome video and the great times buddy. We will meet again! 🌴🌞
Thank you, It was a great stay and I'll definitely be back
That's the great part of travel like this. You can change plans and do what you want. Keep in touch on your way down. Chances are we will cross paths again. And a big thanks for mentioning me!!
I'll definitely let you know when I start heading south.
"bent the rim to shit" -- best comment of the day. I get it though. I'm back on the bike again in a couple weeks, might even catch you one of these days!
What's going on buddy, hope all is well. glad you're back on the bike. would be nice to catch up.
It will be hard to leave Colombia - I guess😉
honestly I've been loving Colombia so much. I have to come back
I think that's really cool that you get to experience a different culture and a different side of what people don't see everyday thank you for telling us about your journey give us an insight of learning about the locals and learning about what your mission is
yes, I've learned so much since I've been on this journey.
Man, i don't know that I am tough enough for that, its so cool that you went and did this, and are sharing it.
thanks man, yea it was quite the experience I must say.
I enjoyed watching the video😊
thank you
its crazy to think that here i am in the big city and then there are people who living like this all day.
absolutely, it feels like you are in a completely different world.
DUDE...There is adventure, then there is this, just EPIC.
Thanks man, yea it was definitely quite the adventure. absolutely one of the best travel experiences I've ever had.
Water has a lower boiling point at high altitude.... Add more/use better quality coolant, and remember mixing color coolant cancel their chemical properties
Cool, Thanks for the heads up my friend
Bubble Guts = Baaaaaaaad. I miss Dora too!
yea man, crazy times
Yo ! Tough trail. Good stuff. Maybe lower the music though 🤷🏾♂️
yea, I'm still working on my vlog mic set up. So sometimes the raw audio isn't the best. So the only solution was to add music. but I am definitely working on it. thanks for the advice
I got the same bike exactly like that dude it's a badass bike takes off zero to 100
yes, it's an absolute beast
Well done! That looks like a fun trail.
It was a blast but definitely challenging
i'm new to you channel, great video! wish to join to your travel in ecuador, Trail safe! your bike is very heavy for a off-road
thanks for tuning in, yes I agree, the T7 was a bit too heavy for this ride. it can get the job done but not without a fight.
Much Enjoyment 👍😎😂
Absolutely! Thank you for your support
Good job and awesome video :D loose the music though, i'd rather just listen to that sweet cp2!
Thanks man, tank you for tuning in. Yes, I love the T7 growl as well. I’ll keep your recommendation in mind.
Thank
"I hit my balls, man" , haha, hell of a cliff hanger. But dang, that was gnarly. Do you wish you took a smaller bike?
Yea, that was definitely the gnarliest ride I've ever done. I actually don't wish I took a lighter bike but if I did it again, I'd definitely use a lighter bike.
Cool to get a chance to practice it. It seems like it should be straight forward, but I can imagine in practice, really difficult, especially if you get off route at all, figuring out how to get back.
definitely gets confusing
Ya, that one was easy, just wait, Ecuador to Peru is all in the same building, you only have to park once!
that's what I like to hear. thanks for the heads up
Mocoa to Quito in a single day, you are a mad man. hahaha, awesome vid, I dropped a couple new pins on the map for places to stay.
Yea man, it was a long day my friend. lol
I need to get that pin for the camp spot from you!
you got it, definitely one the best camping spots I've ever been.
very nice camera angles :) enjoying your videos mate
thanks man, Thank you for your support. I'll them coming!
I miss hanging out with Dora...( and you)
Dang, what a pretty spot to spend the night.
yeah man, it was incredible to wake up to
Pretty area. How was that spot for camping? Though with the weather here now, I am not sure I want to camp much until the rain lets up a bit more.
that spot was actually really cool. its high up on the mountain so its a great view.
Thanks man. Do I need the title, or is original registration ok? I made it to Guatemala so far without it, but information is contradictory everywhere. I'm hoping to avoid getting turned back somewhere and waiting for mail from America.
Welcome to the channel. You might be ok as you head further south. I only say that because some countries don’t have a title, only registration or vehicle permits. (Docs look very different for every country). It also depends on the customs agent. As long as the numbers on the vehicle match the docs, you should be ok. Although I would suggest using a title.
thanks! @@nomadon2wheels
Not sure if you are continuing south? When in Peru, find coca leaves and make hot tea with it.. add your preferred sweet of sugar or honey or panela or whatever.. drink few cups. It will boost your energy a little and help a lot with altitude sickness. Be mindful of it when you leave Peru because it’s illegal in 162 countries lol
Oh and if you are going to go to Machu Picchu you will definitely want to drink some anyway. People at hotel or nearby will encourage you to drink some anyway but better to go ahead and get some of it into your system before you start climbing higher into Andes. It’s taller in Americas as tall as 16k feet (Pike Peak 14k ft) but I’m sure you already know that anyway.
Hey, thanks for the heads up. I am heading to Peru and was given the same advice. So I’m assuming it really works. Thanks again.
Beautiful area. Dang you spanish is better is better than mine, I got maybe 30% of that, not even half.
honestly, the more you communicate the easier it gets to understand what someone is trying to say based on their body language and the situation. You start to put two and two together. when it comes to responding, now that's a game changer. lol
Hahah, "I don't mind it".
Love from India Mizoram 🤟🔥🔥
Thank you for the support my friend
welcome to the channel
What a great trip this was!
Hope you get the bike sorted, it looks like a great trip, would be a shame to have a bike ruin it.
thanks for tuning in. Yea unfortunately it was giving a lot of problems. trying to fix it on the fly. I still recommend Ecuador Freedom Bike rentals.
Don't let Dora see you riding another bike!
hahaha!
Also, as a side note, I can't believe you don't have a huge audience. These videos should be saved by anyone doing this trip, so you can note down the steps.
Yea, fortunately I’m not doing this for a big audience. I just want to show other travelers my experience and hope they get something out it. Though it Would be nice to catch the algorithm 😐
