7950X3D Worth It For VRChat?
มุมมอง 1.4Kปีที่แล้ว
I bought the 7950X3D and well... I was disappointed to say the least for the end price tag of $1,300. I expected at least getting double the FPS but that didn't happen... why... I don't know? So I returned it and don't regret saving money!

But I think these will take over social VR games of course they wont replace the controllers for FPS games but they do give hope and insight to where VR in my opinion should be going towards. 4090 Worth it for VRCHAT?
มุมมอง 20K2 ปีที่แล้ว
My experience with the 4090 on VRCHAT Been using it for 2 months now and I am absolutely amazed by it, and cant wait to be able to fully use it with an upgraded CPU as well. Overall full worlds with no safety settings can be attained but with low 20 FPS. However Normal worlds with around 40 people will be around 30fps in a similar situation

    With a 4090, Paired with the 7950x3d you should be getting much better performance than 35 FPS on average. Im talking 70-80s, There might be an issue with your setup. It could be related to cooling, RAM, M.2 SSD speed, or displaying too many high-poly avatars-some of which might have over a million polygons each. Another thing is sometimes the CPU doesn't use the L3 Cache by default i would check to see if it is using it. Could you list some more specs, along with a benchmark in 'Heaven' Benchmark'

    For anyone stumbling onto this video in the future. A few words of advice. Bigger number does not mean better Throwing money at stuff alone doesn't magically make it better. A budget am5 motherboard, 32GB of 6200MHZ ddr5 ram and a 7800x3d probably would have unironically performed better for a lot less. This is because the 7950x3d has two core types. The v-cache ones and the non vcache ones. Games get confused because they wern't programmed for this and use the wrong one's at times. The 7800x3d only has the fast v chace core types, programs will only use fast cores because that's all there is. Also games have a limit to how many cores they can effectively use. Giving a 6 core program 400 cores will not see a performance benefit. VRC can use 4-6 cores. More cores doesn't make it slower (unless it has diffrent core types) but it wont help while costing more. Also the 7800x3d has 8 cores. This is def enough for VRC. Also VRC benchmarking isn't the most consistant and FPS numbers from different people at different dates cannot be compared. The 9800x3d is probably the best CPU for VRC as of the date of this comment. I can't tell you how much better, but it's better. Probably.

      @ashie2024 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While it's true that "bigger numbers" don't automatically mean better performance, the choice of hardware depends on the use case, and throwing more money at your setup can yield significant improvements if you're aiming for high-end performance. The Ryzen 7950X3D, despite its dual-core structure with V-Cache and non-V-Cache cores, is a powerful CPU that can deliver impressive results when configured correctly. Many games and software, including VRChat, are catching up to this kind of architecture with optimizations and driver updates, reducing any potential confusion between core types. With proper software configurations, the 7950X3D can outperform the 7800X3D, especially in multitasking scenarios or applications that benefit from additional cores. Additionally, it's not just about core count but also about future-proofing. Games are slowly evolving to better utilize multiple cores, and having a CPU like the 7950X3D means you're more prepared for future updates. It’s also beneficial if you do more than just game, like streaming, rendering, or running multiple Games & Software, where extra cores can shine. As for VRChat's performance, it’s highly variable due to factors beyond CPU specs-such as poorly optimized avatars, shaders, and world assets. Benchmarking VRChat on different setups can indeed be inconsistent, but a higher-end CPU can help smooth out the worst-case scenarios, especially when dealing with heavy VR loads. Finally, while the 7800X3D is a solid choice for gaming with its V-Cache, the 7950X3D offers more flexibility for those who want a balance between gaming and productivity. It’s about what you prioritize: pure gaming efficiency or a versatile powerhouse that can handle a broader range of tasks. And if you have a high-end GPU like a 4090, like the guy in the video, pairing it with a more capable CPU can reduce the risk of bottlenecks, ensuring you make the most out of your investment.

    • @Derpynewb
      @Derpynewb หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ashie2024 only thing I can agree with is its better for productivity and in most games you'll get like a 3% performance boost. Everything else is an edge case and or/very uneconomical. You're not exactly wrong its just the info isn't very useful for most people. Futureproofing is a waste of money. All it does is it let's you be lazy. By the time games can use more than 8 cores effectively and schedule them appropriately the 7950x3d will probably get pwned by midrange cpus. You will barely see a performance uplift from a 7800 to a 7950 even with a 5090. Only other use case is turbo multitasking. Like rendering stuff in the background while gaming or having multiple background programs for whatever. For 99% of people, even if you have the money, just stick with the 7800x3d. The 7950x3d is not worth it unless you actually do cpu intensive workloads.

    CPU matters so much. All of those physbones are what are really holding back things. If you could limit physbone simulation distance like you can avatars, that'd help much more when VRAM isn't the issue. It would also be nice of VRChat could use more cores of a CPU. I have a Ryzen 9 5950X, but it doesn't seem to use more then one CCX (8-cores) worth of resources, and doesn't even use them at much.

  • @PurpleHeartVR
    @PurpleHeartVR ปีที่แล้ว

    You need to tell it to lock the game to the 3d cores (which it should do automatically) to get the benifit. Also VRC/VR works weird if you can't get a certain FPS stable, it will force you to a lower frame rate. If your headset is 90hz and you can't easily get 90 fps, it will set your frame rate to half at 45. the index, set it to 144 which half is 72 it will hover around 72 if you can't easily get 144fps. Otherwise the 7950x3d is the fastest VRC cpu currently.

Fps is the same but feels infinitely better, and I've yet to crash from performance issues. Definitely worth it and makes vr so much better.
