Runnin' with the Pack ~RV life
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ต.ค. 2022
Hi everyone! We are Jon and Rhonda. We created Runnin' with the Pack to share or experience with planning and prepping our RV 5th wheel and getting it ready for full-time traveling. We're not rich so have to build everything out in stages and phases. We'll be sharing modifications to make the RV us, honest accessory reviews , videos of Destinations we visit in the interim in the short time. We'll show the wins and the fails (so you can learn from our mistakes) . We hope you'll join us.

Lincoln, MT SxS Poker Run and Blackfoot Valley Optimist club Scavenger Hunt
Over Memorial day weekend, we road the SxS/ATV Poker Fun Run and did the Blackfoot Valley Optimist Club SxS/ATV Scavenger Hunt. The latter one was 110 miles! The club donates funds raised to youth groups in the local valley. It was a great time and we'll be back!

RV Boondocking in Lincoln, MT. Between Glacier and Yellowstone.
มุมมอง 449ปีที่แล้ว
Rhonda and I spent 12 days boondocking in Lincoln, Montana. Was mostly rainy but the few nice days were so worth it. If you are ever in Lincoln, The Montanan Steakhouse is a must. Lincoln has a special place in our hearts. Some of the most friendly and down to earth people. We pray it stays that way. Even had elk in camp! Great spot to overnight if you're traveling between Yellowstone National ...

Rhonda and I are always on the lookout for gadgets or technology (ok, I'm looking for technology) to make our lives easier while we're RV'ing. Mopeka Propane Tank Level Sensors cures one of our propane management ills. And, we just found an integration with the LCI OneControl App for Android and iPhone. For those interested, the Mopeka branded sensors are a few dollars cheaper each at the time ...

Will a Canam X3 with 35" tires and portals fit in 2023 Wolfpack 345pack14.5? #shorts
มุมมอง 559ปีที่แล้ว
A buddy of mine brought this over to "test fit". This machine can drive over a 5 gallon bucket! We stopped it short about 6" from the wall. We'd have to take the "playpen" off the back deck to fit it comfortably for me. If we had another 2" we could have shut them. For those with 3 season doors, it wouldn't fit. Height-wise, there is zero issues. I hope this helps everyone! We will have many mo...
WFCO Auto Detect wasn't working for us. We swapped it out.

The WFCO Auto Detect converter charger in our Forest River Wolfpack 345pack14.5 wasn't working for us. Mainly, we couldn't keep it in a lithium/LifePo4 charging profile. This is not a how-to. I am not a professional. This is how I did it. Perform anything you see in this video at your own risk. Can ChatGPT make RV'ers life easier? Let's see...
Some beautiful country around Lincoln. Spent a lot of time 4 wheeling and snowmobiling there.
You have to have perfect conditions to have a chance of it working and stay working. Swapped mine out to a dedicated lithium convertor.
We use ours a ton, between washing off the kids, the kayak, and even the percolator after making coffee GROUNDS EVERYWHERE. ours leaks though, and we need to replace it, luckily it just leaks on the outside when you turn on a knob and not inside the camper.
Hell yeah!
What size TV fits?
Did you notice a large difference in the readings between the Lippert and Mopeka app? I have them set the same way (30 lb propane) but the readings are about 20 percentage points different between the two.
This is exactly what I was wondering, because they are obviously made by the same manufacturer, and the Mopeka is slightly less expensive, I just wanted to know before buying the Mopeka, thanks
I have had rvs since 1985 and none of them has neat wiring. Time is money in production. As for the converter you should have had WFCO replace it thru your dealer first. I do agree the one you bought is better but you should have gotten what you paid for.
I have the older square on one side round on the other side sensors and I couldn’t get it to connect to OneControl. Oh well, glad the new ones work but they look to be the same price roughly as the LCI branded ones. Glad you got these new ones to work!
I found that you can fool the WFCO autodetect by 1) turn off the converter, 2) disconnecting your battery, then 3) turn the converter on, then 4) reconnect the battery. This makes it think the battery is dead, and kicks it into lithium mode. If you don't have a battery switch to disconnect, then this is too much work. Now that I have had it for a year, I found that it tends to fail when the weather is cold, say less than 50 degrees. During the summer it always charged all the way up in lithium mode.
Do you need to be on shore power for this or just with solar and truck charging would work? I am boondocking, on thé road, no power and having a green light.
Beautiful place and great video!! We subscribed!! Happy travels ❤Zack & Linda
How’s that converter holding up ?
Did you try the knifes from Temu?
How do u become an affiliate?
Brisket looks delicious
Thank you! Didn't turn out too shabby on the end.
Lets go John and Rhonda! Montana looks to be beautiful country. I have military buddies from up there but yes i love Yellowstone also😂. Great vid guys! Stay Suckafree and Tighten up✊🏾❤️🫡
It is beautiful! Bet you could get good footage of that Puma in the woods here. Colin would love it. We'll save ya a spot! Thanks for watching guys! 🍻

If you guys are ever out Montana way, hit us up! 🍻
@@runninwiththepackrvlife2 U kno it!!!!!
So what was the main issue with it not auto detecting how was it affecting everything in the trailer ?
At first it was the Auto-resetting breaker kept tripping when the charger tried throwing more than 30 amps. But I believe it was also an issue of voltage loss because where Forest River installed the converter/charger, was estimated to be about 35 feet on 6AWG wire. The WFCO would not stay on the Lithium profile. I've since heard they have a firmware update if you send it back to them. Which isn't convenient when you want to use your RV. But at least it seems they have a fix now. All the other systems were fine though.
@@runninwiththepackrvlife2 Thank you for responding my greywolf has about 20ft give or take distance and I felt I would be in the same situation with distance and voltage loss
@@runninwiththepackrvlife2 I called WFCO five times and left a message, emailed, and even filled out the warrant return page, and I got ZERO replies. Don't know how to get the firmware upgrade that I also heard about.
@@mrgehring2Did they eventually answer? Have you resolved your issue? I have problem with mine not auto detecting lithium and having a green light
Take wheel off and brake’s to?
We take wheels off take them home. Then we put rim on no rubber tire at all double lock.
That would definitely keep it from walking away!
cool information to have i did not know about two of these will be buying the tire set for my car trailer
Yes. Definitely a perfect application for that!
Great job. We also use a cable lock designed for motorcycles looped through the two wheels on one side. All these devices can be overcome by a would be thief but my goal is to make ours a bit more of a challenge in hopes they pick an easier target. Most locks keep honest people honest!
A cable lock through the wheels is a great idea Bob. We do that with our SxS but I didn't think of doing that with the 5th wheel. Thanks for the idea and agree with your philosophy on it.
The king-pin lock is a great lock no doubt. The scissor jacks and cable unfortunately not a problem for thieves. My suggestion is for people to secure their compartment doors better especially where one can access the landing gear controls. Thieves have and can lower 5th wheels onto a bed mounted holding plate and drive away with a rig, "ONLY" if they have access to landing gear. But, if that control has a hidden inline kill switch to the landing gear it will stop them in their tracks. I had this done for about 15$ and 2 hrs of my time. Just food for thought.
That's great advice. Never thought about that before. That'll be on our to-do list. Thanks for the tip!
Great info!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing...👍
Thank you for watching!
Subbed! Good info. #Staysuckafree
Thank you guys! ❤️
Awesome thanks for sharing
You're very welcome Joyce. We hope it was helpful in some way.
Yeah. I use it to wash off all the blood before i go inside.
I could see that for a fishing or hunting application.
@@runninwiththepackrvlife2 hunting and fishing! Yeah, that's the ticket! 😇
I need an outside shower curtain for my disabled son. We are newbies so I’m looking for a way to use it more often.
Ed, you might look at Amazon for a "pop up privacy tent". My brother had one and worked well.
👍🏻👍🏻
Hell Yeah!!
Subscibed!
thank you so much. We did as well
Great informative video. Actually looking at getting this! Staysuckafree❤️✊🏾🫡
We love them so far
This is very interesting information. Can it list activities to do in a certain area from an RV Park
Interestingly, we did try that. After a listing of the RV parks, I picked one of the parks listed and said "what are the main attractions within 50 miles of (I can't remember which one I did specifically". And it gave us a listing. I'm sure there are some lesser known attractions that are missed though.
Nice! I might have to look into this! I always wondered if there was a better way. I just wait till I cant cook anymore, and just switch to the other tank! haha! newly subbed. Thanks for sharing!
That's how we used to roll too. Then I decided I was tired of going out outside in the middle of the night to switch tanks because our furnace quit 😂. Thank you for watching and the sub!
Those sensors are a great upgrade!
We've been looking at them for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Glad we did.
Thanks for sharing. I liked your "I'll wait"... genius😆
Thank you. Was my feeble attempt at a little comedy. 😂
Wow, That's skill to get that to fit, Congratulations and enjoy your travels. We hope to see you on the road!!!
It's a tight fit for sure 👀. Hope to see you guys as well!

@@runninwiththepackrvlife2 Absolutely 🤟
Wow! Just fits!
By the hair of it's chinny chin chin 😄
Comment on whether you've had similar issues with the auto detecting WFCO.
Thanks! I have a 2022 315 pack 12. Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome Shannon. We are going to do another video soon replacing the inverter/charger. While the fuse replacement fixed part of the issue and would need done regardless of brand of charger, the Auto-detect one will NOT stay in lithium mode. We're putting one in that is manually switched to Lifepo4.
I’m gona put a mini split heat pump in my next one. There’s one that will run off solar 1k watt panels during the day .Hey that gen switch is oddly placed but nice it’s not bunched up with a cluster of switches.Nice rv !
Good thinking Scott! We have been considering a mini-split, or two, as part of our long term solar project but will definitely be a couple years down the road for us.
This guy knows his stuff. Very knowledgeable and is always helpful.
Thank you very much Larkin! Appreciate the words!
Woo hoo!!! 🤘🏼
Looking forward to the future!! Good luck!!
