DIY School bus conversion to a home
Hi, our names are Louis and Traci. We have been married for 26 years and together for 31. When we first started raising our children my husband wanted to move from the city that we grew up in (he has always been way more adventurous than me.) I explained to him that it was very important to me to raise our children around family and that day, we agreed that when our children were grown, I would go anywhere he wanted to. Who knew that anywhere would be everywhere. We just bought our bus, it is a 2003 Bluebird 3800 and the planning has begun. If anyone has ideas or advice they are most welcome. You can contact us at

So....50 amp source, goes to the bus, then the adapter magically turns it to 30amp? I'm no electrician but shouldn't the adapter be on the 30 amp source, to the 50 amp cable, and THEN your 30 amp adapter at the bus? If you must use a 50 amp cable? The way you described it, you're supplying 50 amp through an adapter to a 30 amp bus?? Sparks'll be flying in that cb box 😂😂
Yes you are right, you are not a electrician lol. A 50 amp cable has four wires and a 30 amp has three wires so when you put an adapter on it only uses three wires from the four wires that drops it down to 30 Amp. So no sparks!
