Old gits doing stuff
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 ก.ย. 2022
Us ole mates of a certain age enjoy doing all sorts of stuff from days out, classic cars and bikes, and even a bit of home mechanics. We've known each other since about 1985 so we thought we would record and share what we are currently like for our future generations to see and enjoy.
We're not professionals, we are here for a bit of fun and a giggle, that's all.
None of us follow mainstream nonsense, hate reality shows and all that garbage on TV, hence we get out and do things.

At my local Air rifle range. Easter Sunday... targets only, no fluffy bunnies.
Out with the chaps today at a local shooting club. Good weather for air rifles as no wind so pretty perfect conditions. UK air rifles have limited power.

Classic cars racing at an old GP circuit in Kent UK
มุมมอง 142ปีที่แล้ว
After an absolutely horrendous 5 months of weather here in the UK, thankfully it's improving and long may it continue. Heres a few minutes of what the day was like at the circuit that rhymes with Bran Snatch. Can't name due to copyright !
A fine winters day for fine old Triumph Spitfire 1500.

Been a long time since our last video, we've been pretty busy doing stuff and we have a few interesting features coming up in the next few months. In the meantime, here is Simon in a 1970's Triumph Spitfire 1500 in the winter sunshine.
Jack adjusting the tappets on his MGBGT. So young people do take an interest in older cars!
มุมมอง 991ปีที่แล้ว
Jack is Peters son and he loves classic cars like his dad. He brought himself an old MGBGT from 1979 back in summer and has done a fair bit of work on it to make it reliable as an everyday car. A great starter classic which is quite cheap to own and run as almost every part is available. Today he's adjusting the tappets.
Some interesting old aircraft at former Battle of Britain airfield, RAF Manston.

A visit to an old Battle of Britain airbase, one among many in our area. A great day out that costs 5 quid, plus a bit of grub with your mates and having a chuckle, you can't beat it! Don't forget, we're not experts and are possibly wrong in a lot of what we say but it's just a bit of fun and most of all, memories.
We visit the Military Canal and have a lark around for good measure.
มุมมอง 1802 ปีที่แล้ว
Built as a 3rd line of defence against invasion, the Military Canal in Kent was finished in 1806 and runs for 28 miles. The road runs alongside so is a good drive with a few villages and towns along the way. Hythe, Appledore, Rye and Tenterden are just a few throughout the route. Good for motorcycles too.
Factory MGB GT V8. Any good? my pal drives mine for the first time.

My mate Simon gives my factory MGBGT V8 a drive. Its a good opportunity to see what he thinks about it from an outside point of view.
The London to Brighton vintage car run. Nice old cars but terrible weather!
มุมมอง 7572 ปีที่แล้ว
Torrential rain kept the crowds away today, but the vintage cars kept on plodding past us at a steady rate. I dodged the heavy showers to grab a few clips and have added a bit music to try and make the best out of a pretty lousy day!

Lots of interesting machinery and architecture on my walk of the Historic Dockyard at Chatham.

Chatham Dockyard has been a part of the Royal Navy for 500 years and has some very interesting artifacts. Was great to have a quick walk around the grounds looking at the buildings and old air raid shelters. I was based here for a year when I was in RN, so great to reminisce.

Very nice GT750. The yamaha looks great in green too. Nice sound on the MG
What a beautiful machine.
Olá amiguinhos procure um canal que se chama Flávio rcz. O rcz dele tem 247 cv e é um dos mais lindos Rcz do TH-cam
Aaah I'm giving my one GT 750 a new name "Greta"...thanks for the idea! She really smokes!
Damn !! I’m wanting to buy a used rcz, hearing so many horror stories about Peugeot and these cars …. I’d be looking at 2011 2012 .. should I do it?
problem is they are all now 10-15 years old. and are heading towards 100000 miles plus so are needing tlc so expect expensive bills. doesnt matter the variant. ive owned my gt200 13 years so i know whats been done to it. a lot out there had cheap repairs so not always a good buy
270bhp please stop waffling mate
Australia has 31 - R's. Normal Prince engines 156 and 200 need 5k miles oil changes.
Where did you buy the alternator? You mentioned a shop in Plymouth but didn't name it. Thanks.
Nice👍👍👍
I look at this post every so often, have you still got your toys?
Lovely car but you have to learn a few more words than ‘just fantastic’ which you continually repeat.
Gorgeous bike. Almost identical to the one I had (GT750M). Only sound nicer than that burbling on tickover is the awesome noise it makes when accelerating hard ❤
What a nice piece! I don't recall if this model was ever sent over to the USA. I don't recall ever seeing one. That exhaust note is delicious! The newer stuff just doesn't do much for me. Too many plastics with watered down character and driving experience (not all, but most).
I like your story with this GT750. Thanks for the video.
Lovely Bikes
Hallo ! Ich habe auch ein 77' Wasserbüffel In der selben Farbe und Top Zustand Leider werden solch schöne Motorräder nicht mehr gebaut !! Gruß von der Küste Hamburg ⚓️
Thanks for the video !!! great cars and bikes you have!! hope you still have them
Watch video made my day brillant 70s
It's beautiful I had one in 1977 and I miss it terribly, rare as hens teeth in australia
Nice , just a rip , don’t go walking in and out as he’s talking about the car S kissing half of what he’s saying 😂
You said it got a bad press but the MGC got the prize for that. The engine was lighter and suited the car.The Costello MGB V8 made BL wake up and put this into production.
What a gorgeous car. I thought I saw a V8 badge when I watched your GT750 video. That's a real "sleeper" right there. What size engine? I have a 4.2 V8 in my Jaguar S-Type ....around a 260 cubic inch. I always threatened to install a Mazda rotary in my old Spitfire.....never did but should have.
Ian Dury and the Blockheads.....Hell Yeah!! I worked on a lot of these GT750's back in the mid to late 70's as a Suzuki mechanic great motorcycles and still one of my all time favorites.
I had an MGB same colour but convertible, also a GT750 same colour - that sound takes me back
got one tuned @302hp Goes like HELL !
THE LITTLE YAMAHA, THE BIKE THAT KICKSTARTED ROAD TRAIL BIKES FROM JAPAN, THE REST IS HISTORY AS THEY SAY,
Beautiful GT, she going to carbon up the plugs, better take her for a spin. Nice MR2 to.
Stop using the fish eye lens. Nice looking car!
I'd prefer a Commando or Bonneville. The GT is a million times more reliable though.
Love it, I have same colour on my 1976 Spitfire, I’ll be driving mine till November 🇨🇦
I was lucky enough to own one from new (P reg). Great to see and hear your bike. Many thanks for uploading the video 👍
The r is limited production flagship lump , but for every day the 200hp in a decent colour manual box will suffice and of course become rarer each year , chance of values rising will be semi guaranteed by the mileage , history and condition . The anchor that sets rcz up for being a classic is that love it or hate it roofline running down and onto the bulbous rear end to rear bumper , as i dont beleive they will ever introduce a petrol head new rcz version in the future , ( maybe a ev style sports job maybe ?) If you want a better drivers car than the rare R you should look at the high performance audi tt components wise, stronger and has better dynamics. just sayin
Sexy french car. Beautiful design. 270 HP. 0 at 100 km/h 5,6 seconds
No mistaking that sound. In the 1970's my uncle had one of those. I had the GT550 at the same time (Yes, I was in high school). Never forget that sound. What a beautiful sample of a classic. Thanks for posting.
I’ve owned two and both were lovely and trouble free perhaps I was lucky. But I enjoyed both cars. One was a White Diesel “ Magnetic “ only 175 ever built, The other was a standard one in a lovely Blue I think it was Dolphin Blue ! Not sure ….
It's not a classic bike though is it. It's just an old second hand bike.
Wow fantastic story I envy you sir thank you keep it going never get board with your line up 😊
Did spannering back then at Sanders & Lewis in Kilburn. We had a copy of the Nico Bakker frame and called it our SL200. My form of transport was the triple 550. You don’t need to have a guilty conscience concerning Greta! I personally believe she’d be honored to see more of these bikes on the road cos her initials are on every one of them!!!
Two of my favourite means of transport, a V8 MGB and the Kettle. I had a ratty old MGB GT in the late 90's that was scrapped, and my first bike in the early 70's was a second hand, knackered, Suzuki 200. My dream was the Kettle and I missed buying a mates abused one around 2005. I bought a Bandit 1200 to compensate, but it never did. Nothing comes close to the Suzuki/Kawasaki 2 stroke triple howl.
The problem with all carburetor-based bikes is the petrol left in the carburetor. After a long-standing time, it evaporates. The leftover block the jets and you have to take the carburetor apart to clean it. It would be better to run the engine until it stalls, so the carburetors are empty before you store the bike.
And don't forget to empty the tank, and rust prove it, slightly oil the inside.
brilliant cars. I haven't yet been lucky enough to see an AW11.
Arnt you going to ride it after starting it?
You shouldn’t let it sit there and idle like that after sitting a long time. Revving it a little helps to lubricate the engine. You should check to make sure each cylinder is puffing a little blue smoke of course to ensure the oil feed line is not clogged or air bubbles in the lines.
Hahahaha. CV Carbs do not draw gas from the tank with vacuum. The CV stands for constant vacuum but it refers to the Air operated vacuum slide in the carb rather than mechanical actuation of the slide in the carburetors.
A great bike I had one the same colour and age.
Got one of these in fact still got it. Great car. Rcz? Racing coupe zagonda.😊
racing concept zagato
These cars are amazing...definitely a future classic
Lovely collection. Greta will be turning in her private jet 😉

love my rcz absolutely fun car and still turns heads
