I transcribed the piano part for organ for this live performance of the work on April 3, 2018. Anite Stroh, whose creative project led to this collaboration, is the soloist.

Such a gorgeous piece. Jongen's style is so recognisabe. I can't understand why his orchestral music isn't more widely performed. I think this Sonate would sound magnificent in an orchestral version.

It is good to see someone play no. 2 in b-flat minor at a more reasonable tempo. I have seen too many organists play this one way too fast. The marking on the score says "Deciso", not "Vivace" or "Presto". Very good.

Don't know how I missed this one! These études are wonderful pieces, not merely didactically, but as music too. Alkan was way ahead of his time with these pieces, even if they weren't necessarily written with the organ in mind.
