Annie's Escapades
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 17 ม.ค. 2015
this channel talks about The NDIS the land mark Australian care program from a lived experience and how to get the best out of your plan and other key words and fundamentals you need to be across as a person with a disablity. It also discusses wider disablity issues such as representation, media and relationships as well as health and wellbeing, as disablity doesn't discriminate. We also talk about navigating disablity as a family and navigating other relationships.
Support staff, how to look after yourself

Nicely done!😊😊😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey trying for a live at around 9am today queensland time
Well said!💗
I am really am ejoying your content. As a new support worker i am learning a lot. Could you please do a video on how a support worker navigates a client who likes to drink alcohol and smoking. Merry Christmas. God bless you
Thanks for the feedback. Can do

A little louder for the folks in the back! But seriously, can you come to America and train like 99% of caregivers please? Because they've clearly never been told this before 🙃
You are welcome to show them my content
@annieinwonderland lol pretty sure I'd lose caregivers even faster that way 😂 I've been getting care from non-family members for less than a year and a half, and I genuinely lost count of how many I've gone through in that amount of time 🙄 not sure if it's different in other countries, but in the States, it's a revolving door. They're underpaid, overworked, undereducated, and often have pretty low character
@acaciakapusta8921 If i may i might do a long form video responding to this
@@annieinwonderland that would be amazing! Happy to collab if you'd like
@acaciakapusta8921 annie.nunn123@gmail.com please hit me up.
Personal care assistant and caregiver
Another good post!!!! Thanks young kady
It makes me happy to be able to reach others.
Fantastic video.tbh, I don't understand why a support worker would even post stuff like this.
Useless. We call them useless
CNA and LNA depending on licensing and then also care takers or respite workers
Aids
Very very good points... wish more caregivers knew this!!!!!
thanks really love that people are paying attention
I have been staying nice and consistent I my energy when in support work..I do think consistency does matter.. Thanks for your great advice
Back to see how your going
@@jamescrocker3878 really well , about to do an update video in the morning
Bleeding disorders like hemophilia

Thanks for sharing that. I'm glad that the algorithm finally gave me something relevant. I didn't know that there was a disability rememberence day. That's something really important to know about.
Happy disability action week beautiful ❤ Please know you can speak up; don't judge a book by its cover, there are many of us who would not stand for treatment like that. If you ever feel like something isn't right say something, even if it's to a stranger on the street. Thankyou for bringing up this important topic ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing. I have heard a few terrible stories about disability abuse. I just can't Belive that this is happening. May God bless you. ❤
So true
You are a wonderful person❤
Im full time carer for my husband i work 24/7 get paid basically nothing and get no sick or holidays i dint clock off after so many hours its litterally 24/7 and has been 7 years doing it if people actually worked these hours in this pay they wouldnt show up at all and there is only so much help you can get and if i can do that people actually going to work clocking off having breaks and holidays and getting better pay id expect them to show up and not play with there phone
Dont worry the orange is going to help with this !!!!
I am in Australia, but I love the enthusiasm.
This is true❤
Good point❤
Your videos should be included in training. They are so practical. Lived experience needs more of a voice.
I love this I am putting them out there for a reason
@ great! I have sent some clients who are in the industry to your page. I am going to enjoy watching it flourish.
Thanks and I do have a blog if you want to hit me up annie.nunn123@gmail.com I can send you all my links.
Annie yiur content is so valuable. I am learning so much. Thank you.
Thanks and please keep checking back as I am making more videos!
Great advice thank you
You are so welcome!
Getting an official diagnosis as an adult costs over $1000 in the U.S., so for a lot of people, self diagnosing is all they can do to get themselves help. Insurance doesn't usually cover it for adults, and most people live paycheck to paycheck. I'm not saying that self diagnosis doesn't cause harm, I'm just saying that the people who do it are suffering also.
Great Advice 👍
I love hearing " oh that's not visually impaired , visually impaired is leaving your contacts in for 24hrs then pulling them out and everything is blurry " . I had a cashier tel me this and me being blind in my lt eye and ¾blind in my right one .
That's really bad.
@annieinwonderland when I don't use my cane they don't know . I'm stubborn
Great advice thank you
Glad it was helpful!
You seem like such a great person. I’m so glad that you’re going over these important topics. You go queen!!!
@@WilsonPilger aw that makes my heart happy.
Agree❤
Self diagnosis is about as valid as me becoming present of the United States
Learning a lot about disabilities and being appropriate from your videos . Thanks. You're cool 😌👍
Thank you for your videos. I am learning a lot. Keep it up. God bless you
@ZoeHopeZanelli thanks for that. You encouragement means alot
If you have a support worker they are very lucky to work with you. You seem very knowledgeable and kind. Keep up the good work on educating people. I work with the special need youth here in the USA and I think sometimes people forget we are just people too. I love the kids I work with and want the best for them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences! ❤
Thanks and it hasn't been an easy journey to be on. I once was "That" client. Again Thanks
❤❤
@@Julieunruly thanks for the vote of confidence
Congrats on your first subscriber 😊
Yep first paid member.
interesting . I think it might be quite negative in a few months time . (hope I'm wrong ) the support coordinator title/job is particularly interesting to me as for some reason they seem to disappear and or quit and move on quite regurly . I personally am a support worker and have had my difficulties in the last few years transitioning to sole trader but this new look ndis is feeling like its going to be sketchy . governing the right and wrongs in ndis is going to be so so hard and the variance from 1 disability to the next seems to make it a rock and a hard place . thx for your interesting thoughts though 👍
thank you for your informed comments and yes I have a podcast and I do wonder if they are trying to drive it back to block funding days
@@annieinwonderland it's quite hard to watch in this industry as people that trully need services go through hoops of all sizes often for nothing at all . funny ... been to 2 clients already today and both are saying ... have u seen the abc today and these changes we don't quite understand 😆 in which I reply I have read the first documentation and I am also still in a state of confusion myself so I take it if I watch the pm say anything I will still be in the same boat . both my first 2 clients have there own hiccups(gripes) with ndis and then my next job once into a hydrotherapy/pysio I can guarantee there will be the same chat just more full on as its a group not scared to speak there mind . I wish I could record it for you 😆. sux because my heart feels broke when you hear the unnessary strain the system puts on people .
annie.nunn123@gmail.com
Agree with the deficit funding approach Andrea
@Julieunruly it doesn't make sense to have funds for things you can do. Hope you haveing a great break
Sorry about the background noise
Love Matt Rife😂
I love his crowd work, but yet to see him live. But he is so inclusive if you have watched that clip there is actually 2 medically complex needs people in the audience. He is so funny and true as well.
Love a paper diary, old school works ❤
Agree with the lack of commonsense
Gniewem co gadasz😮
Not anger just asking about ethics
To be completely honest I prefer to work with low functioning clients, or behaviour clients, it can be easier than dealing with high functioning clients who argue , make unnecessary complaints and are quite often entitled, that's not everyone of course😊
