How to press guitar strings - No more buzzing or muting
Lets fix those buzzy strings of yours.
Hi, I'm Jered. I've been teaching guitar privately for several years and playing guitar for a lot longer. Recently I decided I wanted to get all of my lesson material onto youtube so that anyone can have the chance to learn how to play guitar! Any and all questions are always welcome in the comments and I'll do my best to respond as fast as possible!
This video covers everything a beginner guitar player needs to know about how to place your fingers on the fretboard.
Whether you're getting buzzing strings (sometimes referred to as fret buzz), or muted strings, this video is here to help. I'll talk about how to place your fretting hand's fingers and thumb on the guitar neck and also help troubleshoot why your guitar strings may not be making the sounds that you want them to make.

@@dimitrywasnttaken3165 yes you could. A power chord is half of a barre chord. The difference is that with a barre chord you have to worry about if you need a major or minor chord. You don’t have to worry about that with power chords

@@NotObiWanKenobi Wow this is such a good question that I’m going to make a whole video about it! To answer you now though, get as close to the fret as you can without your fingers being ON the fret. @DudeBuyATICA correct, you want to tune upwards. The world won’t explode if you tune downward, however, doing so can leave a little slack in the string which will come out when you start playing, hence causing the string to go out of tune
