To increase the temperature I took one of the vertical poles out. It makes the entire thing shorter and I’m sitting anyway.
Great call. Never thought of doing that. Thanks for sharing
Do you happen to know what the hottest setting is? Instructions don’t say. Mine is 9 temp settings. Is 9 the hottest?
Yes, I believe it is the hottest. I always set mine to 7, but haven't tested if 9 makes it hotter.
Thank you!
@@corvettedog Absolutely! So glad it helped out. Enjoy the sauna!
Thank you for the video! I was able to successfully change the part!!
Excellent! Glad it helped out
What water do you recommend using? Especially if from the tap, the water has to boil so I would assume any bacteria in water is killed? Even if there is water in the pot that has been sitting for a while, presumably any bacteria that may form is killed once it heats back up?
@@phillipd.leeesq.42 I buy distilled water from the store. A couple gallons at a time. I typically get two sessions out of 1 gallon.

These days, the passing car or neighbour's car might be a hybrid or electric car or just not willing to help; you might be on a one way street, or just in an empty car park having left your lights on or on that day your battery fails.
@@hotchpotch3278 100%!
Random tip: the steamer sucks and will break. I replaced it with a wallpaper steamer which essentially does the same thing.
Bro this video saved me so much. Thank you for making it.
So glad it helped! Hopefully the new part lasts longer for you than it has for others. Seems like once the OEM goes, it can be on an ongoing issue for our Traverse's.
Not sure if the valve is my problem. When starting no engine code but sounds like I have a muffler problem (loud). Seems to becoming from the engine compartment.
Not sure, but maybe the valve isn't seated where it's supposed to. So it's a blowback problem and air isn't not going into the purge valve, but just into the engine bay.
I carry a tool kit from the mens automotive Christmas section at Wallyworld...best kit ever for road emergencies. The most used item I have is the jump battery pack. I regularly jump cars every single year! That way I don't endanger my battery either. I have my fave flashlights but I pick up those cheapy headlights and regular flashlights at Wallyworld to give away. I carry a yellow reflective vest and an orange puck flasher instead of flares. Cash? Bwahahahaha! Who has money under Jotato and Kumswala's Admin?!
No empty bottle or similar? For gas…
A proper tug rope for winter. If a tug is needed, get it set up, and someone will enjoy getting you on your way.
Having a tow strap is always a good idea
I’ve used Fix A Flat to get home twice. It seals the leak, the compressor inflates the tire. I always buy road hazard warranties with my tires. I used the &ix A Flat to get to the dealer and simply exchanged the tires.
Fix a Flat is for sure the one item that got people heated. Is it the best solution? Probably not, but it does get you off the side of the road and to somewhere safe. You can always buy a new tire later
@ I alway buy the Road Hazard warranty with my tires. That way, I just go to the shop and they swap my damaged tire for a new one.
@@tshadow6 Great call. That will set a lot of folks at ease!
Fixed blade knife, canteen, duct tape, first-aid kit.
Canteen is a great one. No one has mentioned that one yet. Thank you for sharing!
I can remember breakdowns before the era of the cell phone, a pocket full of change for the telephone box was useful as well as an idea where the nearest one was. Yes you sometimes had to knock on the door of a remote farmhouse or a country pub. Last time I had a blowout it was on a remote single track Welsh road on christmas day, no room to change a tyre, I had to drive a couple of miles on the flat tyre to find somewhere to change it. I have had times when I have found forestry workers to haul me out of a ditch with a tractor, or the time when my scooter broke down and I walked a couple of miles to the nearest farmhouse. The farmer drove me back to the scooter in his pick up and loaded the scooter into the back and drove it to the station where I was able to load it up in the goods van and take it home. Fun times
Never left home without change for a payphone! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Great video, thanks I put the longer tube inside because for whatever reason it would not fit around the steam part, but it works well because I can keep it further away from my feet
Great idea. That steam only has to hit you once for you to be aware of it, and to keep it away from your feet / legs!
My code didn’t go away yet. Should I drive it a few times to see if it clears?
My guess is because the small round gasket isn't properly sealed / seated yet. Mine was the same way. It took starting and driving the car a couple of times to get it to seal and the code to clear.
Thank you. I'm installing my Nurecover Sauna as I type this. I was trying to figure out how to install the two items you mentioned because, like you said, they're not in the instructions. Thank you again, you are a lifesaver.
So glad it helped! Enjoy the sauna
the ones listed below are in my kit* kneepads, had to kneel on broken glass to help a person after a traffic accident, and another time it was sharp gravel when changing tire (not dangerous but uncomfortable). Safety glasses, I have had gravel thrown at me while changing my tire, it broke my regular glases, I luckily had spares, but! if I hadn't worn the glases I would have been in need of medical help. safety vest with reflective stripes, no fun to be in dark on roadside with cars rushing by, it would not take much for you to be unseen and hit. the four following are in the, good to have but hope you never need A good first aid kit, had to use mine several times, thankfully only two major, an arterial bleed and bone deep cut to the face of accident victim. but number of scraped knees/hands and other minor issues over the decades is staggering. A deceng sized fire extinguisher (minimum one, but two or more might not hurt) rated for liquids (fuel) , solids (seat stuffing...), and electrical, I have had to use mine multiple times, (even on myself once). Glass breaker belt cutter. * together with much more, I live where I may have several hours walk to the nearest house, which might even be unoccupied (some are jusr seasonal), and near arctic circle, so shovel, sand,, tow straps, axe and other "self rescue" gear are in my kit, waaaay beyond the scope of this, not many need a 50x50cm plate to prevent jack from sinking in snow.
Thank you very much for the well thought out additions. Being very remote you definitely need to be prepared for everything that comes your way.
I live near the equator. It is very hot here all year. I kept my jumper, air pump, batteries and also my DMM in a cooler box to prevent it from damage.

@@Bloody_yank516 Absolutely. Thank you for the sharing your thoughts!
Where I live, it's obligated to have these in your car: - At least 1 hi-vis jacket (for the driver). More is great in case you have passengers with you. - Fire extinguisher - Red reflective triangle (that you put on the road when you're in trouble, I recently had to call a tow truck because I had a flat tire, and didn't know how to use the jack to get the spare on. The guy suggested a wooden plank in the car to put as stable underground for the jack if I were to ever need it again (and he also taught me how to use the jack). So yeah, *wooden plank* and *knowledge* about the jack are very important "tools" if you don't have fix-a-flat Thinking of buying an LED road flare (in addition to the hazard lights) Water bottles can come in handy as well, just make sure sunlight can't reach them or you might get the effect of using a magnifier to set leaves on fire with the sun.....
Your first mistake was buying cheap parts that's not as durable as the original purge valve. The aftermarket part won't last, and you'll just run into having it fail after the warranty expired, which they normally are only as durable as the length of the warranty.
I appreciate the feedback! Always good to understand blind spots!
I have a 2018 and I'm on my third replacement. First 2 I let the Chevy dealership, where I bought it, do the work. OEM parts.. They are garbage, obviously..or I wouldn't be screwing with this again.
@@midwest1228 Dang, try number 3?!? That's crazy. Is there a common theme of what breaks on the part?
@@RandomReviewsForMe They say you should not top off your fuel. I may have been guilty of that before the first replacement. In my opinion it's just a bad part. IDK..I have about 120k miles on it now and it needs replaced again. I've also had to have the alternator replaced twice since I've owned the car.
@@midwest1228 Two alternators is nuts. You must have purchased a Friday afternoon made car! Sorry for all the bad parts. Hopefully you are through the worst.
Thank you for clarifying
@@paulvisone8788 You bet. Hope it helped!
Did this and now I have a large evap system leak 😑
@@alexnelson5358 Interesting. Have you tried taking it back off and putting a thin coating of motor oil on the small rubber gasket for a better seal?
Either you use the wrong part or you installed it wrong. And if you have e a much larger leak afterward, then most likely it's not just your purge valve that was leaking, but other component parts that are also failing. Retrace back all your steps to make sure you didn't install it wrong. Last but not least, you have to clear the code after you finish putting in a new unit.
@RandomReviewsForMe you never use motor oil to lube the seal. Use the proper lube that are meant for seal rubber O ring. The only rubber O ring seal you use motor oil on is the oil filter rubber seal. Every other rubber O ring use rubber O ring seal lube.

No specific order, 9mm, flashlight, couple hundred or more, water, blanket, phone, jumper battery, first aid kit, food, flares, extra clip, working spare tire, wrench and small breaker bar, extra smoke and lighter, tp or Kleenex and on a good day “Karma”.
Hoping someone can help me troubleshoot. I’ve attempted to use my unit twice. Both times both tubes get hot and the box fills with water but no heavy steam/heat accumulates in the tent. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. Thx
@@Free2BMe143 How much water did you put inside the tank? All the way to the top halfway? And how long did you let it run before deciding it wasn't working?
@@RandomReviewsForMe I half filled it and it ran the full 45 minutes. After watching many videos I realized I had a couple things wrong. When I put the top on the element I didn’t lock it in place causing steam to escape from it. - I didn’t realize it had that feature. I then took the top off the pill case which also helped. So stressful figuring it out but I think my third attempt worked really well. Thank you for your video and the comment section. They both really helped.
@@Free2BMe143 Terrific. Glad you got it sorted! One important safety factor I am sure you are aware of. With the pressure built up on in the canister, if a person doesn't completely wait for it to cool and opens it, the stream rushing out of the canister can cause severe burns.
@@RandomReviewsForMe YES!! Thank you for the reminder!!
Highly recommend a jumpsuit if you can get a cheap one. Also a spare jacket and a blanket for warmth.
Yep, it always good to put a 'winter' box together for the trunk
In general, this is a good video, but I think that at least most commenters don't understand the concept of limited trunk space.
Thank you, and I agree. I would love to have the entire hardware / tool isle of the local hardware store at the ready. But the intent of this 'bag' is to get you off the side of the road, and safe. It's not designed for full automotive repair. I do appreciate everyone's thoughts though
Suggested addition: basic first aid kit in case you do get scraped up or cut, you can clean and patch your wound so you don't bleed all over your nice seats. Probably don't need one of those hiker kits with limb amputation tools, just a basic kit with some bandages, gauze, tape, cleaning wipes, antibiotic ointment, bleed stop, etc.
100%. I have a med kit as well. Terrific addition. It's a small 4x6 zippered pouch. Has all you need for a basic cut / wound. Thank you for sharing!
I keep a basic first aid kit, and a small one person trauma pak. Any serious bleeding will need to be stopped very quick. Items in your car don't have to be just for you, if you see an accident on the road and they get a large puncture wound hemostasis gauze, wound pack, and a tourniquet might make the difference while you wait for EMS. Some even have a small strip of duct tape so you can use the package to improvise a chest seal.
