The frame rate is up some because of the performance difference in consoles. It makes the 14 year old graphics look even worse than they do on other generations.

That scene rubbed me the wrong way when I first played the game. Model T top speed was 40mph and drove about 20-30 mph. Yeah a sprinting horse can catch a train but the car was still way faster than walking or a horse over long distance.

To be fair, John is correct here, early automobiles were more of a novelty item than anything. They were incredibly slow, unreliable, unsafe, a huge hassle, and just had a whole host of issues, especially the complete lack of infrastructure for them during this time period. If this was your first impression of what an "automobile" was, you'd probably think the same. We just have the benefit of existing in the future.

But seriously, what made Red Dead great was its discussions regarding the downsides of the industrial age. My favorite moment was in Red Dead 2 when arriving in Saint Denis; the view of the pollution is so grim and heartbreaking. It's one of the top scenes in gaming history for me.
