Hey, first of all: thank you for playing my etudes, and thank you for the question! What are your interests regarding the guitar etude/online free lesson genre? Are you strictly intersted in neoclassical music, or rock, jazz, blues etc? Alternate picking, pickslanting depths, legato, tapping etc? People from time to time ask about new etudes, I'm curious about what are your interests.. It is very time consuming process to make such a large scale content - book/video/recording. At the moment I'm developing a new - more theoretical/technical based content (coming soon), but who knows - if the demand keeps going up for new etudes - I could consider making something fresh, but for now: I want to be clear - I have no such a plan/neither I give any promises for that reason. btw - you can find some other (more technical based) workouts on my channel. @@matissguitar wow, I play Everything you mentioned but a lot of my musical taste comes from singing in vocal ensembles so that is deeply embedded in my core. When I started playing guitar it was because of blues and classical music so i play anything in between.

Hey, thanks for the comment! Actually no, in this video I use alternate picking. I can also mention that when I improvise I mostly use legato picking. One major rule of thumb for me is - always have an clear intention on what you want play, before you play it and let your body decide - what is the most efficient way to do it. It other words - music always comes first, instrument - second. This is a major thing to keep in mind, when working on commanding your instrument (not the other way around).

@@matissguitar Thank you, great advice. Your alternate picking is very smooth. Just wish I could develop a good technique but I struggle. Also wish I could understand modes so I could make things sound interesting. I'm just stuck in a pentatonic nightmare. I'm pretty good at covering classic rock songs but I'm desperate to develop my own style.
