Here is Dudley Moore the musician not the actor...
I miss you, precious Dudley.❤
Quite a amazing piece of music and the effect it has in this particular scene. Watching the way Brian Dunahee and Dee Wallace listened and reflected in their own ways while Dudley played this was perfect
I remember seeing this in the theater when it came out, with my Mom and Grandma. Both are gone now, and so is Dudley. I miss them all. 😢
Im not a pianist but having been through something similar to his character I cannot express how perfect that piece is in conveying the journey of emotion that he felt. To write something so musically descriptive without needing words is incredible.
This great movie is the duality of man.🫠
I remember an interview where Henry Mancini was asked by dudley Moore if he could make a few changes to the song and this is the version he did. They worried about whether or not the audience would want to hear 4 minutes of piano. Dudleys version could of been 5 minutes and not one should would have complained. He played a masterpiece within a movie. A very bright man indeed. .R.i.p Dudley your comedy and music ability was pure genius. ❤
Piel de gallina , cuando escucho me vuelvo a enamorar
Blake Edward’s asked Mancini if they should keep the whole scene in as played as it is long. He said absolutely. Glad he did. A classic
amazing piano playing! I remember seeing Dudley Moore playing George Orwell’s rhapsody in Blue. 😢
'This bloke came up to me...'
RIP. ❤ Dudley Moore a talented pianist & actor 😊 sorely missed 😊 loved his films .
Absolutely hauntingly beautiful scene....dialogue not really even needed to get the emotions across.....just three people.....raw emotion coming from the quietness and simplicity of the scene....a wonderful moment
~ Brian Dennehy & Bo Derek starring 15 yrs apart.
America loved him and to hear his end was a shock. May Dudley More RIP. A place in the Heaven's 🙏 JT
I was listening and thought that sure sounds like Mancini! Beautiful!!!
Yes it is beautiful.🎹 Rest in peace Sir Dudley.🙏
That wasn't acting, that was real...
Dee Williams, Brian Dennehy, and Mr. Dudley Moore are perfect!😢
Wonderful to see so many others appreciating this. I made a recording of this years ago and listen to it from time to time thinking I'm probably the only one doing so.
If this beautiful song doesn't get you in your heart ❤️💗 than you don't have one. It's so real
Nobody will ever replace Dudley Moore! Love all the songs from this movie. Oh what a soundtrack!! I also was always a huge fan of Brian Dennehy. He always had such a great smile and did such great work in every part he played!
Beautiful scene
My Dad and I loved listening to Dudley Moore when we took a vacation to the South of France. I really miss him.
My favorite scene from the movie....beautiful and full of emotion, yet simple and not over the top...Dudley Moore nails it!!!
There is an interesting backstory behind this song & scene.
I'm sure Dee Wallace's reaction was genuine as well as Brian Dennehy.
A transcription of this version is now available on Sheet Music Direct and on Sheet Music Plus ;-)
😭
You could see him give his whole heart in the song.
I love piece and music, he was such a great piano player, this song always gave me tears listening to it and watching 10.
Lol, did you notice that Mika changed her mind about her favorite way of making them grow? and it’s so much easier and convenient. I just went ahead and go’ogled the latest post by Mika Klopsworth, I was impressed when they increased by 2 cups in weeks by just tweaking what I eat and doing some very simple exercises.
Loved the music in 10!
He was a super-talent. Gone too soon…..
I just read this: "Moore died on the morning of 27 March 2002 as a result of pneumonia, secondary to immobility caused by his PSP, in Plainfield, New Jersey, at the age of 66. Rena Fruchter was holding his hand when he died; she reported his final words were "I can hear the music all around me." ' I can't think of a better way to go. I'm still crying. ❤
Wow! Thanks for putting this up, was looking for this in Spotify, couldn’t find it there!
A timeless comedy being more enjoyable now than ever
I was torn emotionally the first time I heard this in 1980 and it still fills my heart with emotions today in 2022. My favorite piano piece of all time. Thank you Mr. Mancini and Thank you Mr. Moore for making it your own.
Agree 100% ❤❤❤❤❤
I will play this to my future wife one day.
And she will love you forever. ❤
Funny how a song can bring t he same look to everyone's face.
Zelfs na meer dan 40 jaar is deze muziek prachtig en fantastisch emotioneel gespeeld. En ook puur, omdat het bij toeval is opgenomen.
Even after more than 40 years this music is played beautifully and fantastically emotional. And also purely, because it was recorded by chance.
Dee Wallace really stood out in this scene. The music was haunting and beautiful and her face caught the mood perfectly
thank you ! merci!
Who si she?
Watch Mancini and his orchestra play it on TH-cam, then watch this, and one can really appreciate how Moore took this melody and made it into another piece of art. Interpretation, not imitation, is what is missing from today’s music.
Most beautiful piano piece ever. Henry Mancini let dudley Moore make changes to this piano piece and the rest is history, only dudley could do this with his genius wit and sheer talent, I miss him.
Hey thank you for everything! Here’s something for you: th-cam.com/video/ZFgro4GnnT4/w-d-xo.html
Dee Wallace wasn't acting when she teared up sitting at the bar watching and listening to this live. What an evocative moment.
A wonderful scene and Moore was great. But Dee Wallace really closes the sale on this beautiful scene. She was a pretty minor character but a very important part of this emotional story.
What a Man
