    Very helpful vid, thanks! One tiny correction if you don't mind; there is no such word as 'HIGHTH', it's height.

    Thanks for the great information! I like the ability to display only the spectrum and so many more functions. Bob N3SWL

    Appreciate this Video on PX3. Faster way of understanding how the PX3 Panadapter works. Sometimes on my case I have a hard time understanding the manual even if I read it several times. Thanks for your hard work on this. Gave you a THUMBS UP. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay Safe. 73 Ruben KD6CWI

    Clipping the jumper is a huge mistake! Drill a hole in the back, mount an spst switch in ths back and use it to reinstate the loop for when you will need to do the cal processes in the future. Also, remember that the accuracy is only 5% full scale. That means 7 watts, for example, could read as low as 6.3 watts or as high as 7.7 watts. Otherwise, great job! It's a great little meter!

    just got my kx3 used fully loaded. love it. Making the kit now and Ill show you what i have. I have some older powerfilm panels, a 5w 15.4v one and a 10watt 15.4v one which both on loads go down to 12v usually. using an omni charge 20+ for my battery.

    I was hoping to see a better test of the Buddipole but the random wire seemed very successful. About how long was it? (And the counterpoise?) Thanks for a fun video. MikeinMinnesota N0WDM

    I'm not able to find ANY documentation on how to get the PX3 to decode Morse Code, can you provide some help with this?

    • @kd5gje
      @kd5gje 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      To decode, make sure you are in the CW mode. Then, press and hold the Data/Text button. You can then rotate the far right selection knob to select the option which will be off, TX only, 1, 2, 3, etc. I typically leave it on 1 or 2, this all depends on the signal you are listening to. Also, the display setting matters. Tap the display button on the bottom right of the radio if you are not seeing the text scroll across the radio.

      @kd5gje 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, I just re-read your comment and you said PX3, not KX3. I need to hook that one back up and see what I did to get it to show up. It may be holding down the Menu/Labels button to make it cycle through the options.

      @@kd5gje Hi Tim, I did finally figure it out. Hitting the DISPLAY button will get it into the proper mode. Thanks.

    Did you add the ferrite choke to your keyboard cable? I have a keyboard without one and I am having problems with extra characters being added on transmit.

    • @kd5gje
      @kd5gje 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I added a choke to the cable.

    A really great HD video with very clear sound but just too short. Would love to see a much longer version showing how all the pieces are used in a HF QSO. I subscribed and now hoping for more videos. 73, KD4ID Dan

    Looks a little like a low OCFD. What chair is that? It looks very comfy.

    • @kd5gje
      @kd5gje 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wire is just random lengths. I think the short side was 17’ and the long was about 37’. The chair is a Helinox brand, very lightweight and packs up very small.

    Great video. I didn't realize it was this easy. What about all those E's and T's, are they being transmitted? It looks like it. Is that caused by the keyboard and can it be stopped?

    • @kd5gje
      @kd5gje 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Allen Hunt The Es and Ts are just because the signal is too weak or too sporadic for the Elecraft to lock on and decode. It will even decode nothing into Es and Ts. It is not transmitting those though.

    Looking good. You made a Q. 5 Watts or more? I keep mine at 5 watts and never go above. Where's your food? Always need some snackies ! KU3X

    That is a nice setup! Does the keyboard and PX3 do PSK31 stand alone as well?

    KDGJDE de W1TXT. Very nice to meet you Tim. Name here is Tom. I also have a KX3, buddipole (w/lots of accessories), a KX3 helper EF antenna, a bioenno power 4.5AH battery and same Helinox chair! I'm a backpacker and picked up the chair and the hardtop Helinox table over the holidays. I plan to do some winter backpacking this year and will take all of it with me. Looks like your gear is working great for you. 73
