I am Dr. Amit Kumar. I am a marine biologist by training. My research interest includes marine biodiversity assesment, understanding influence of climate change on marine and coastal organisms, marine bioprospection especially from extreme conditions. I believe in disseminating my learning so I frequently conduct workshops, training programs in my research lab. I am running a Marine Biology lab @ Sathyabama University, Chennai. The members of this genus are distributed worldwide in the coastal waters. particularly, Cassiopea andromeda is reported from Indo-Pacific. These jellies occur in two body forms: Sessile polyps and free-swimming medusae. It is categorized as venomous (check this: www.nature.com/articles/s42003-020-0777-8).
