I wasn't born at this time, but this was the first version of Peter Pan I saw as a child. I don't know why, but he's always been my favorite Captain Hook. He's the perfect blend of evil and playful. I don't know....maybe it's his random dance numbers...lol! Then again, maybe it's just because I grew up watching this version.

Somehow, I wish Laurence Olivier could have played Captain Hook - how I'd have loved to see what he'd have made of it. Of course, Cyril Ritchard is slimy, swiney, utterly indefensible and totally incomprehensible! But Olivier - if he played Richard III, couldn't he have taken a moment from his 50's schedule for Captain Hook and Peter Pan? That would have been an immortal, never-to-be performance!

I see that Elizabeth Warren played the Indian Princess.

When they use the long Hook's arm to put out the cake, it's not even Hook using it; it's just one of the other pirates.
