First game I ever played was metal slug. Mormon missionaries would take my brother and me to the pizza shop next to my apartment building, load it up with quarters, and let us play. I have no idea why they did this. They asked if there was anything they could do for us and my mom being prideful said no. But, me being 5 and having no concept of money, asked if they could help me play the game my mother couldn’t help Me with (because we were poor). And they did.

Metal Slug X and 3 will always be my favorite entries. Seeing the protags and rebel army work together for the first time on almost every final mission was so damn cool. And its sound bites and theme is a cult classic.

Well, there was a sequel teaser. It was one of the sanity effects though 😃 Great game!

The original lineup of my humble local arcade was TMNT, Simpsons, Dark Seal, Moonwalker and POW. I never really played POW much over the others, but I did beat it once before it was phased out or broke down. They added Metal Slug after a couple of years and that's how I came to know about it.

Idk if it's confirmed that jak decided not to go with the precursors or not at the end of jak 3 but other fan speculation is that jak did go with them and he just traveled through time founding haven city and then returning seeming as though he never left i honestly prefer that version
