Hello my name is Jens Hovinga, I live in the Netherlands. @woodtastic was my earlier profile name on TH-cam, now I use my own name to keep it simple and personal.
I love to give a personal twist at woodturning, and even when there may be better ways to do something, I always do it my own way 😅
I really love to make special pieces for people that have a piece of wood with sentimental value. Working with wood is magical, you never know what you will find or see in the drawings of the wood. And this can be for everybody something different. Every piece of wood is on itself a piece of art, I only just bring it out for everyone to see.

Woodturning - A beauty of nature 🌳✨
Hello, today I have a project where a piece of bark runs through the wood. Many people now tend to use epoxy, but I'm not really into that. Of course you can make nice things with it, but in my eyes it has nothing to do with "wood"-turning. In addition, I think we already have enough plastic in nature. It would be a shame to fill something so beautiful, which has been created by nature over the years, with plastic. So I'm not going to start that. I want to keep it as natural as possible and try to make this beauty stand out even more. Have fun watching and I'd love to hear what you think of the result. Usually when you make a bowl from "wet" wood and you make it thin enough, it can warp a little, but it will remain intact.
