Fun fact a lot of people usually believe a few means about 4 or so. No reason it's not too big and not too little. Also for the little sentences it would sound a bit better if you put a little bit. i.e "I have a little bit of sugar left." Makes it more smoother and also the other way sounds like the sugar is a small creature instead of an object.

@EnglishWithCecilia hey, listen, me old China, anytime, day or night! Other ways of saying up the duff are 1) old English, in the family way 2) Scottish, something illegible and 3) popping sprogs. All of which are interchangeable except for the Scottish one because even the Scottish can't understand the Scottish. Like I say, any time mrs.
