Tips for your Google My Business Listing really does make a difference. Thank you Frank
THANK YOU Frank Blanchard for your continuous education. Assisting us, in growing our Florist,
I love hearing how much my info has helped elevate your knowledge. More coming soon.
HI, thanks for the video, really helpfull, can I ask, what is the difference with SGE regarding the products tab. and images tab in google bis? Please, thank you
Hi, Thanks for asking. For the most part the SGE aspect of the current Google Maps app for your Google Biz Profile isn't going to have much to do with your products. If anything, make a point of uploading some video content with your imagery that are 30 seconds maximum. In addition to your still images, the videos will help make sure you show up in the maps app as well as automatically put you in the "Map Pac" in the general Google Search. Ultimately your objective is to make your listing as interactive as possible.
New subscriber, great content!
Thanks for subbing, more new content coming soon.
Very Helpful,Thanks Friend ❤️
Glad it was helpful @pattyhutchine2542 . More coming soon.
I’m a newbee!
ya gotta start somewhere. It's a fabulous journey.
How is the best way to figure in your labor into a design? Thanks for your videos they are very helpful 😊
Good question, I would probably first look at your expenses to actually just do business where you are located. Think about what all of those expenses are pertaining to location rent, local and regional sales tax, what if any employees you have etc etc etc. This part is going to be what helps you determine what kind of a mark up you need to cover your costs. So with industry standard being a 3X mark up plus labor. However, what "Industry Standard" is might actually not cut it for you and where you are located. The percentage if this is what you are doing would be approximately 25 to 30%. Now in my personal preference I actually prefer to do a 3X mark up on hard goods, and a 4X to 5X mark up of all fresh to cover all your fresh product and labor all combined. Plants are kinda of a different story. All of this though all depends on the economic climate where you are located. What is the cost of living like in your area. What is the general income level for most households in your region. All of these criteria are things you need to consider when determining what your optimum markup should be. Hopefully that all makes sense.?
@@FrankBlanchardAIFD thank you it is very helpful
I've been seeing so many brand-new Florists who are just getting started asking "How to get Valentine's Day Business?" in a lot of the different Florist Groups on Facebook especially. If you have a new website and Domain, now is not the time to bank on what your website will eventually be able to do for you. Your Domain and website will be so new at this point that the Search Engines won't recognize what your business is about yet. However, focusing on your Social Media Profiles will definitely be the fastest way to get in front of your local audience. In addition to that though, using your Social profiles to help drive traffic to your website will definitely help get your website some much-needed traction on the web.
It is so boring video....
Adding links now. Thanks! Never would have known.
Glad you could make that addition.
Great Ideas,Thanks Friend
You are most welcome Patty. I am actually working on new updated content you might find helpful. There have been so many changes with the internet since I created this video, I need to go over all the latest changes so people can apply new strategies to their marketing plans. We'll see you for the next one. Cheers!
I hear from so many Florists with Home-based or Studio business models that don't want, or can't have the public coming to your location. That is totally fine, but you still want to make use of your Google Business Profile... it's all a matter of setting up your business correctly for the platform. For GBP that means you are going to need to set up your business as a "Service-Based, or "Service Provider".
I frequently audit so many Florist websites that aren't getting any traffic and this is why. Absolutely little or no text content regarding their site non-searchable.
This is one of those topics I find so many creative entrepreneurs have a hard time understanding. So, I’m trying really hard to explain it in a way that creative people can understand.
Great explanation!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this very informative and helpful video for us florists.
You are very welcome. More new info coming your way.
Thank you for this informative video Frank
Glad you found the information helpful.
Hi Frank, New subscriber here from Australia. Thank you for your valuable videos.
Thanks so much. Hopefully, you gained some good info you can put to work for yourself.
I'm thinking Sunday mornings will be the day I try to do Live Streams on a regular basis. I would love to see you in the chat community.
I'll watch for your notifications!
Sundays - I find all the other days I get caught up in working in the business vs on the business.
Good to know, That's kinda where I was leaning toward. I think Sundays are a better day for a lot of Florists. I'll make a point of doing them early in the day so more people can be apart of the conversation.
you should get back to uploading and I can say you took hours to create this video so here I am appreciating your creativity! Cannot wait for more! I can see the day you will make it big! Cheers and see you new friend!
Well thanks for that Cleo, you just earned yourself another subscriber. Yes there are more coming your way.
@@FrankBlanchardAIFD That is so nice of you! Thanks for the kind words
your videos are useless - all fluff talk nothing interesting
Hi Frank, quick question now and day is easy to research anything about flowers,my dream is to have a flower shop but do I need to take classes or to have any kind of certification to open a flower shop?
Good question and somewhat complex. In general no you don't, however this is where things are getting interesting with the business of flowers. Food, Restaurants, Food Network, all of the different Chef and food competitions is a really good comparison. Because of Social Media consumers are getting smarter and more educated about what dictates, or classifies quality level of individual flower varieties, rarity, and technical Floral Design expertise. Knowledge and education is always what separates you from everyone else. I would first tell you that you definitely do need to create an actual business/career plan, you need to have a vision for how you want your business to start, what you would like to see yourself and your business doing in 5 years, and 10 years down the road. Your overall knowledge and comprehension, and technical skill definitely broadens the scope of what you and your business can potentially be hired for. Let's just say if you have dreams of becoming a "Celebrity Florist", or an online Floral Influencer, you do actually have to have correct technical knowledge to back it up. If you don't, at some point it can come back to bite you in the butt, and it can financially put you in the hole. This is all just a start, however don't let anything I just said stop you. Experience over time, being in the trenches everyday working on it is a huge piece of the puzzle to achieving success. Now, if you know nothing about the business, the Floral Industry, and Business management and you just start a "business" ( which is what a lot of people do). That scenario can be a devastating result that can totally screw up your life. I've been in the business for 40 years, I consider myself a Master Florist because I am always seeking new education, it's a constant. That's how I've achieved so much. The flower world is an amazing passion filled career to get involved with. If it's what you want, you have to jump in the pool. Seek out top quality education, seek out getting a job with a florist in your region that has a great reputation as the kind of Florist that sort of "Fits" your visual aesthetic. You've got to get your feet wet to get a good idea as to what it's going to take to create that dream career as a Floral Industry professional. You've got to dream big, and make sure you are always open to opportunities that will help you achieve your vision.
I can believe you replied back, that says everything about you, thank God for people like you in the world and thank you so much for the advice,I definitely going to look into it and try to gain the experience through a job or getting a certificate from a flower school, flowers got me out of depression after my younger sister passed but I felt in love with them, now my dream is making more sense after what you advise, thanks a million!!!
@@gloriabello2306 Flowers have some amazing powers that's for sure. If you are ever feeling stuck don't hesitate to reach out. Follow me on Social and or Linkedin, I'm happy to help anytime.
What to do when your competition is low cost ? My estimates were higher than theirs . In my area people will prefer them.
Very good question, this is a challenge a lot of Florists struggle with. This is where you need to figure out what your unique niche is and making sure what you produce is not only better than your competition, but also technically setting you apart from everyone else. Your competition is only competition if you are both producing the same quality work. Some how you have to figure out how you are different. 1. People that gravitate to your style, quality and artistry will be willing to pay your price. Those that are more interested in the lesser price aren't necessarily your ideal clientele. The reaction you want from your ideal clients is "WOW" "That is absolutely amazing! Connect the desire and the emotion and people will pay your price.
I'm always surprised by how many Florists have websites that aren't functioning well... mainly because the SEO hasn't be done, or hasn't been done well. Hopefully, I can help you change that if you are having issues.
Understanding how to optimize your florist website is so critical.
youtube.com/@SAJAWATflowers pakistan
This is really important for those people wanting to operate completely independent Florist Businesses. That meaning you're not affiliated with any of the wire services.
So what are the buzz words for 2023 shoppers, in your opinion-
For small independent Florists, it's actually better to go after a phrase rather than an individual word. So, as one example yes we are "Florists" but that's too vague. Going after a phrase like "Florists near me in (your City and State)' will not only gain general traffic but also help that business show up in the Map Pac on Google. Other examples would be "Valentine's Day Flower Delivery", "Best Florist in (name your City). Just make sure you don't copy and paste anything. No Text on the website or the Metadata can be duplicated. For an e-commerce-based site, all descriptions and metadata has to be completely different for every single item.
Thank you for the helpful hack! Never knew this!

Hi Frank , Thank you for your video and tips . I own my own flowers shop business I got question what do you think about what app for business ? Would you recommend if I want to add my business on that ?
Ultimately I would strongly suggest staying independent. However, if you are looking for a platform that can provide you with a complete website, as well as POS, integrates with Quickbooks, Google, and is cloud based, my preferred platform is Hana Florist POS.
Great video Frank. If you're a business wanting to sell- Christmas is a prime time!
