Back in the 1970’s I occasionally crewed on sailboat in Long beach California. The owners had a tarp under the boat supported on both sides of the slip. After a race they would pull into the slip and gather up the tarp in the stern- leaving the entire hull in a waterproof bag. Subsequently, they would pour 1 or 2 gallons of household bleach in the bag which would apparently keep the hull clean for several days. I never saw them cleaning the hull😊

30 years ago I put together a system for a customer called marine clean. They tested it in various locations worldwide. Grasses and algae never made any difference. The only possible but not proved was it may have upset the barnacles a bit. As an engineer, effective ultrasonic transmission through a hull? Nah especially if it has a balsa core. As far as I believe nobody has actually carried out any sound level measurements externally. Personally I never saw any improvement in any installation those that saw it wanted to see improvement…

I have had ultrasonic systems on two boats, 43 Grand Banks Heritage Europa 2013 with Zeus Pods. Put system on when boat was new, my wife thought it was snake oil too, however they work. I even added transducers and mounted them directly on my Freedom Lift. Cut barnacles down by 80% on lift. Only had divers clean hull three times until we sold the boat in 2016. We purchased a 2015 Maritimo and put ultrasonic as soon as we took delivery, also installed a Freedom lift and installed two transducers on freedom lift. Key take away points, needs to be on solid fiberglass, steel, or aluminum hull. Cored hulls absorb the vibration and it won’t transfer thru to outside. Will not work on thruster as not enough energy to transfer throughout motor, gearbox etc. worked on key areas of the Zeus pods up at the top where the seals are eliminated barnacle growth. Not strong enough to transfer to props. I do have some pictures showing the hull compared to the props and to the freedom lift before installation. I’m an engineer and installed for fuel economy and less diving needed adds to increased bottom paint life. I have had about ten years experience and happy with technology. The coast guard also used this technology.

Fail, wait to see how bad it is next time after you have cleaned once and killed the antifouling paint.. Don't make excuses, that bottom should have been barnacle free. Burned

I have one on my 47 footer. I think it's a gimmick to be honest. The ticking noise is, well, annoying to listen to.

Why not a 3rd party catamaran test with one side 'protected' and the other side not !? ...I know why, because this garbage is a complete scam. It's been requested of this company and they won't do it.

You've pretty much proved what i thought of these devices Good theory, But p*ss poor practical evidence of them being any use at all in suppressing fouling So many videos show exactly the same with differing degrees of owners/buyers saying "well i think it works..." but no actual proof it does 😊

other guy made a good point in turning it off for a month to see what happens. also wondering if the bow thruster emitter is even working ? Cant say I was very impressed seeing it was new anti fouling paint... good luck.
