On this channel, I'll give general motorcycle related information, from how to complete basic maintenance to kit reviews.
I gained my motorcycle licence in 200, and in 2009 I did my first long distance ride, 1024 miles in 20 hrs 13 minutes, this was for an Iron Butt Challenge subsequently doing more than 6 of these and joining the Iron Butt Association UK for long-distance riders. In the subsequent years I’ve discovered the diversity of the biking community, from joining my local Blood Bike group to being an Isle of Man TT Marshal (the Orange Army) as well as a brief stint as a salesman in a multi franchise dealership. The above has led me to now working for a major manufacturer's events team.

Hi, thanks for the comment and watching the video. I'm sure they are, I was refering to the OEM and a couple of other brands that have only 3 points of mounting.
Nice video, bought this lock because of the Bennetts BikeSocial on youtube for the video he made of quality locks. He mentioned this lock was really good since even if they use an angle grinder to get the caliper mounted lock off the pin is still in place. Also for sports bike riders or any riders that do not want to carry around bulky disc/wheel locks this is perfect, you literally just carry an additional key and small bolt. I have been using this for just about 1 summer now, it works really well, knowing I can lock my bike wherever I am and all I have to carry is a bolt and key is so awesome, especially as a sports bike rider where space is limited.

Hello I have two question please 1 witch gear oil is required from BMW exactly. 2 some use 10 w40 as engine oil is that ok since BMW recommendation is 5w40.
Hi Idris, sorry for delay, please see below for the answers to your questions; 1 The oil I use for the final drive is Castrol Syntrax 75W-90. 2 I always go with manufacturer's recommendation of oil, ie for BMW's I use 5W-40. Can I recommend my video on how to changing the engine oil and oil filter as a guide for you.
@@robchisholm72 thanks for your reply I already change the oil almost people use 10w40 motul 7100 as 5 w40 it's not available. is that ok?
@@robchisholm72 I did change transmission oil 75w90 but I do have leak drive side inside swing arm. The previous owner did drill swing arm to make drain in case water go inside now the transmission oil go out from this hole. There is a seal tto replace and do you have any video about. Thanks
Those whistles do work. They have been available in Canada for decades. I live in Canada and have seen the results of cars vs deer, moose and even one my friend witnessed of a horse on the road vs a car. I've also often seen the results of a moose vs tractor trailer. The results can be deadly to humans and obviously to the wildlife.
Hi mass4552, I know, as I said in the video I've had first hand knowledge of my car and a large (for European) deer having a crash. What I'm getting at is I am not declaring if you fit one of these whistles you WILL NEVER have a crash with an animal, I'm saying fit one and it will reduce the chances.
@@robchisholm72 I agree. It was not an attack. It was a wholehearted endorsement of the use of the whistles.
Thank you for your support.
Good video Bob. Interested in the Resin Bike Tank Pad, Knee grips thanks.
Hi Jeff4x4, I can say with hand on heart, these Resin Bike pads are very well produced, fit perfectly and are hard wearing - also they come in a multitude of designs for the GS that match OEM patterns and the colours match close enough. Highly recommend you investigate Resin Bike further and I'm confident, you won't be disappointed. You can either go to their website directly, or I've since found there's a selection of their products on Amazon.....
Riding through Bedfordshire on a notoriously tempting road, I got a little wristy and a fully grown Stag ran out. 5mph more or 20 ft nearer and we both would have been in pieces. The near miss has served to slow my riding down over all. However I was not aware of this gizmo at all, so thanks for drawing my attention to it.
Hi Barry, as mentioned in the video, it was after my 'interaction' with a fully grown Roe deer, that killed my Ford Mondeo in Lincolnshire that I discovered these gadget's. Since then, I've fitted them to every bike and car I've had. As you know yourself, it can be a very scary moment. Also, as mentioned - I'm not saying fit one of these and you'll never have a crash with wildlife, but, in my experience, it reduces the chances. Glad it's been of use and hopefully will give you a little extra peace of mind on the rural roads we all prefer.
I found this lock online a few days ago & now need it. Thanks for the review.
Hi, despite this product having been around for a few years now, it's flown under the radar for the majority of motorcyclists, including myself - and I was in the industry for 10 yrs! It really is a great piece of security BUT as I mentioned, it's a bit of a faff to set up and to get the perfect fit, however, once you suss it out, it's one of those ''fit and forget'' items. As with any 'disc lock' I still use an old fashioned hi viz reminder 'cable' but, the advantage is this won't let you move the bike at all. If you get one and have any issues with fitting, let me know, I may be able to help.
Hi great review how are they holding up
Given that pair where used constantly for a few years and I lost track of the miles I've done in them, I have to say not that well. The main velcro tab started to 'unstitch' itself, the soft grey palm area has worn away to a degree and most annoying, the Gore-Tex liner has detatched itself from one hand, so when I remove my hand I take halft the lining with me.
Just changed mine. Thanks for the concise video. Worked great.
Hi 20pump, your very welcome, glad it's still of use.
Very nice old fruit. You cannot go wrong with one of those ... ballistic too so be careful !
Hi Nigel, haha thanks, as mentioned in the vid, this isn't the first time I've had one, it was that ballistic power I missed (for swift overtakes only of course.....)
Thank you for the review. Is it possible to do a comparation between that one and Klim Marrakesh? and also maybe Revit Nucleus.
Hi, firstly, thank you for the complement, always appreciated. Unfortunately, this channel isn't large enough for me to get producs from say Klim or Rev-It, so reviews are done on my personal kit alone.
That is a rocket ship, a guy in my IAM Group has one and he takes it everywhere
Hi, they certainly can be, but it can also potter through town very politely. On my old K1300S I did a couple Iron Butt ride's on it. I agree totally, they are super comfortable and practicle (for a big bike) .
Hi Bob, did you receive the comment with my email for the Vfr coolest?
Hi Willie, no sorry. I've been looking out for it but not seen anything.
@@robchisholm72 Just back from a 5 day trip on the VFR crossrunner. What a bike. It handles and rides so well.
It is a great bike, and such a cracking engine. I'm glad you share my love of it. However, for me, It was a commuter tool and after years of service, just wanted a more 'sporty' sports tourer. My email is robchish@googlemail.com, drop me a line and I'll send the cool covers to you.

Hi MPrider18, sorry to hear you've not had a good experience. However, I've not had any issues with the K3 and can you provide proof of your claim I'm 'sponsored'? Because, if that's the case, I've not seen any of the money you claim I've been paid! Please take your frustration's elsewhere.
I'd really like the cool seat cover. I'm sure the VFR Crossrunner is your old one I recently purchased.
Hi Willie, fab the cool covers seat cover is yours! If the last 3 letters of the Crossrunner you've got are TDO, then yes it could well be. It's a great bike, but I'll explain my reason for getting rid of it in a video shortly. In the mean time can you send me an email address, so I we can arrange postage. Thanks again.
Rather old video but just finished watching and curious what happened to all of the brake fluid pushed back into the reservoir?
I flushed it through.
bob thanks for this review very helpful, not sure if you still read these comments. If you had the chance to buy a scottoiler E system that works off the battery or this Tutoro system here for the same price which would you go for? Cheers
Hi Kieran, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I looked at both the Scottoiler V and E systems as well as the Tutoro. The reason I opted for the Tutoro was simple. It's a simpler system to install, doesn't require power from the battery or cutting into the bikes vacuum pressure system and because it's purely using gravity and the bikes natural vibration works every time. I would recommend the Tutoro every single time, the only thing you need to do is remember to check the oil reservoir - that's it!
@@robchisholm72 Thanks Bob, Yes it does seem a simple full proof system. The only thing that concerns me is the potential for over delivery of oil? Surely off road the Tutoro requires adjusting and then readjusting when back on the road? Or have you found the oil to always be spot on
Oh wow, I think I've just bought this bike on the video. 🤔
Hi Willie, go for it! I've now sold mine, but the VFR800X is a stonking and practicle bike.
Thanks. Yes it's definitely Bob's old bike on the videos. The headlight protector and yellow tape is still on it also. Bought it from Motorad BMW dealer in Dalkeith Trade sales department.
I watched it this morning !!
Thank you
Just added comments to another of your videos thinking it was this one ! Changed my rear pads today. VERY happy boy.
Hi Nigel, maybe use this video when you need to change the front brake pads.
Changed my rear brake pads today ! All thanks to you. I know to 99% of people its easy and thanks to your video it was ! I have also ordered my first set of "tools" ! Amazing.
Hi Nigel, glad to have been of help, like many things, yes it's 'easy' when you know what you're doing but before then it can be rather daunting. Once you're happy changing pad's before you know it, you'll be doing an oil change (see one of my other video's) and other 'basic' maintenance. Owning a set of tools is always useful and is like Pringles "Once you pop.... you can't stop".
Very well done. Thank you.

La piastra a molla di con l'incavo a "U" al minuto 1:50 è montata in modo diverso da come fai vedere al minuto 10:10.Quale sarebbe quella giusta? The spring plate with the "U" notch at minute 1:50 is mounted differently than you show at minute 10:10. Which one would be the right one?
Hi and thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a question. I used different makes of brake pads, at 1:50 is with OEM BMW pads. While at 10:10 I've used Brembo pads. The spring plate would not fit as at 1:50 with the Brembo pads but did fit securely as at 10:10. So in one way, they are both right.
Ok grazie mille, anche io ho usato adesso le Brembo rosse e ho montato tutto come hai fatto tu …perfetto. Grazie sei un bravo istruttore
What’s the highest temp you’ve worn it in? Thinking of this vs the Urbane mk3
Hi Jay, hottest I've worn this in was around 34c/93f during the 'hot' spell last year here in the UK. To be fair, either will do for those hotter days, the Urbane, does have more pockets while the Honister is more 'close fitting'.
Well done. Good to see you looking well and "back on he road" as it were. Your videos have helped me enormously.
Hi Barry, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad the videos have helped, that was the point of putting them out there.
Just brought one cheers big ears
Ha ha, thanks Adrian, glad the review helped you.
I’m going to get a pair of these. They are extremely expensive but I like to think they will last me at least ten years. Hopefully the Vibram sole can be replaced if it wears out.
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. Yes they are expensive, but, by cheap by often. Be mindfull to select 1 size up from your normal shoe size as I've found they do come in slightly small. I can also highly recommend the Daytona Roadstar or Roadstar Pro. These do have a resoling option, I'm not sure about the Rev-It's in all honesty.
Can I also add that I've done a review on the Daytona's which you might like to check out.
I have seen a LOT of moto camping videos. Yours is the first that I have seen that is more my style than anyone else. One guy on his bike with this gear!!! Hi John, thank you for your kind words and comments. I hope you like what you find.
Thanks for sharing. Nice review 👍
Thanks for watching and commenting
Thank you. This video is very well done and much appreciated!!
Hi, thanks for watching and replying. I'm glad it was helpful!
Thanks for a helpful video, Not sure about copper grease on the caliper bolts, I'm sure they'll be fine if you torque up to the 24 Nm spec, but generally the advise seems to be to thread lock these bolts for safety when re-fitting. I guess it's a double precaution because of the criticality of the caliper bolts not loosening.
Absolutely, it's 'belt and braces'. Copper grease withstands higher temperatures and also aids removing the bolts next time, but you are correct, torque to correct setting every time.
I like this brand, seems like good quality. Is it only for winter use? Can your foot breathe? Can you use it at sommer tem. 20⁰-28⁰ ? Or what do you recommend for warm weather?
Hello and thanks for watching and commenting. This is a premium brand of motorcycle boot. Given the boots have a Gore-Tex liner, they are breathable. I've used them in all seasons and when paired with the Daytona Trans Tex socks, this increases the breathability for the warmer months. These are a great 'Touring' boot which will work in all but the hottests days, 28c +. However, if you're looking for a boot for all but the cold Winter months, can I suggest looking at the Daytona Spirit Pro Perforated Gore-Tex boot. Personally, the choice of boot ultimately depends on the type of riding you do, all year commuting, Summer touring or a track focused boot. I prefer a touring boot as this tends to cope better with most weather conditions. I hope this helps?
Which Size do you wear?
Hi, thanks for watching and taking the time to message me. I wear the Medium. Be mindfull the jacket needs to be close fitting.
Man you look like Rob Halford`s twin :D
Haha, significantly younger and with more hair.
Thanks for the review Bob. It’s either this one or the Touratech version. Both similar in design. This one comes with shoulder strap which could sway me.
Hi, thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, I agree. For me, the choice came down to partly price (the Touratech was more expensive at the time of purchase) and the design of the Wunderlich. Both my Honda VFR800X Crossrunner and BMW R1200GS (now replaced with a R1250GS) have one fitted to them.

Good to hear you’re moving forward well mate.. hopefully catch up during the year at some points, rides, events, coffee stops, etc
Yes bud, hope so.
I have the Knox MK3. It's so comfortable I don't even know I'm wearing it. It IS the Jacket for Protection! It is Perfect. I have looked everywhere for pants to match. I have found 2: The Bohn Body armor pants with body armor in the tail, bone, hips, thighs, and knees. They have a Summer cut, a Winter cut ( 8.0 oz. Brushed Lycra) with knee pads extending to the shins, and an Adventure cut, same ( 5.14 oz brushed Lycra), with smaller knee pads, no shin pads for your higher off-road boots. Beautiful! The second pair of pants I found were Pando Moto's skin AAA Armored Leggings with hip and knee pads that have a skin of double-layer armored fabric. Perfect! I have an underlayer of protection now.
Absolutely, the Knox jacket is an amazing bit of protective clothing. I'm the same, I hardly know I've got it on. For me, personally I still prefer a good pair of leather trousers with knee and hip armour, but thats just a personal choice. Thanks for both watching the video review and taking the time to share your thoughts.
I came across this tent in my search for a tent with a larger vestibule that still packs down small - we go car camping with our Z3 and it has a tiny booth. I would like to be able to at least sit on camp chairs inside (with two people), and to be able to stand up would be even better! My backpacking tent has two entrances across from each other which I absolutely love, so that this tent has the 'back door' is a huge advantage in my book. On warm nights that cross ventilation makes all the difference. Thanks for your review! Going to measure how the packing size compares to our current tent (and for car camping weight is of course not a big issue). And then consider if it's worth the price :D
Hi, thanks for watching and also for yor comments. Like you if I'm using a car or motorcycle then weight isn't high on my priorities. However, I, like you, prefer to be able to stand up in the tent. As you may see in the video, I use the vestibule (which can hold a large adventure bike) as my 'day room'. I use it for cooking and also hang laundry/wet clothing in, while I've still got the sleeping area which remains a clean and dry area. I've had my tent for over 10 yrs and its still going strong, yes, it's not cheap but I do believe it's worth the cost. I think if you did buy one, you'll be happy with it.
Thank you .. nice video. Gives people like me who have never tried anything like this before the confidence to go out buy some basic tools and give it a go. And i shall.
Hi - thank you for watching and leaving such a lovely comment. This is the very reason why I have done a few basic 'DIY' maintenance how to video's. So glad it's inspired you to do this. Should you have any 'challenges' please, don't hesitate to message me and if I can, I'll help you.
Don’t buy one they are rubbish. I have a 23 Z900 and it hasn’t worked from day dot. I will be sending it back. It just doesn’t hold the speed. American crap.
Hi, thanks for your input. You're correct, if the retaining bolt on the top isn't tight enough they won't hold the speed, (I've found an allen key is needed to tighten it sufficiently). This being said, I don't believe they are designed to hold the speed for any length of time, simply to give you time to shake off any cramp in your wrist or hand.
Hi, have you wearing this jacket in hot summer let's say 34degrees ish, does the mash in front of jacket flow airs? Thanks
Hi, I was wearing it in mid 30 degrees during the filming, yes. I would wear it as my warm/hot Summer jacket without question and when moving you do get good airflow across the body, but I found a sweat patch behind the optional D3O chest armour area. Thanks for watching and taking time to leave a question.
@@robchisholm72 thank you for the reply! I think I'll pull the trigger on this jacket as its so versatile
Hope you got the jacket and are happy with it?
Good detail, thank you for making the video. Curious if, with the increased armour in the Pro, the sizing is impacted? Would whatever size you are in the Pro translate to the non-Pro version?
I tried both 'standard' and 'Pro' versions at the same time and I didn't notice any difference with regards to the armour. For me, the 'Pro' just felt nicer and suited me. As mentioned in the video, the differences are not great but I honestly believe if you can opt for the 'Pro'.
@@robchisholm72 Thank you for taking the time to reply and share your experience. That helps, and I think I'll go with the "Pro." Part of me thinks, "but the Pro is so much more expensive," and part of me thinks, "but if you're already going to spend $400, why not spend the additional and KNOW you're getting the top-tier of the top boot in the world?" Either that's sound logic or damn good self-justification haha! Thank you again. ✌🤘
Was that you on the stand at the NEC today?
Hi, yes it was

Hi there! Me again... Just wanted to let you know I have finally bought this boots thanks to your review. Will arrive in a few days. Infinity motorcycles should know/informed about your review of this boots you have here. Thank you again this.
Thank you very much for your kind words about the review. I hope you have as much enjoyment and comfort out of them as I have. These are an ideal Winter as well as 'touring' boot.
I have this tent ⛺️ Used the shit of it. Love it ! It's definitely big, but it's EASY ! Far easier than a small tent. 3 poles. 2 are the same. Easy to see witch end the smaller pole goes. And the pole pockets only at the top. The only disadvantage: not free standing. So you can't shake it out. But I have just undone one side loose and sake sand out that way..pack it up and your done.
Personally, it's the best tent going when travelling with comfort. I'm like you, I love it.
Excellent. Thanks
Glad it was of use
