The Jesus And Mary Chain - Half Way To Crazy (Early Version 1988)
มุมมอง 2.6K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Audio recording originally from a live bootleg cassette tape. Recorded live from Glasgow Barrowland, 27th April 1988. This track is not on the tracklist on the cassette tape from that live performance, so unsure exactly what it is. But it sounds like an early version of 'Half Way To Crazy' from the 1989 'Automatic' studio album, with lyrics nicked from 'On The Wall' and 'Cut Dead'.

The SOUND of the Sisters!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for putting this up...wow!!!

Takes me back to the spring , black october and the tune in turn on burn out tours.....oh what days ❤
They were phenomenal
Mel you have awesome taste. This and the Gary Marx show is fantastic. I think we know each other in real life from gigs Toby
This is better than every time I've seen The Sisters since 91. More authentic than anything Eldritch has done for decades.
Love this song The last part keep going in my head... Beautiful...
TKS Master
No Ghost Dance mention? Wasn't he in Ghost Dance longer than the Sisters?
get him back. then you can answer that question by yourself.😊
Gary was, for me, the guitar sound of the Sisters. In the 1985 diaspora, Ghostdance were my favourites. You could still hear that sound. Peak Ghostdance was “A Word to the Wise” EP. “When I call” was the first song at my wedding. I recognise all those guitars he has on stage there. Good to see him back. Did he ever get his boots mended?
Better start saving up for the reunion tour.
Absolutely brillant
Has he rented Dr. Avalanche?
Kick ass! Greetings from NYC Gary !
wow, thanks for posting this and thx to MR.Marx for these tunes i love for 40 years now
Better than the garbage we have now with the current SOM. Gary Marx guitar lines were the essence of the band
Thanks for posting. Watching this and learning amphetamine logic.
This man shines like the sun.. you want to be his friend! My only regret: he should have sung the lyrics he put down for the demo version
Really not.
Came to comment exactly that...not sure what this fool is saying
Is that the track "Red Skies Disappear"? Always loved that.
what a lovely person Mark is, thanks for uploading it, and by the way he sings better than Von ;)
Seeing Mr Pearman performing again is the highlight of my year. ta muchly Mel
Looks like it was a brilliant night Mel thanks for sharing these. Hope youre well x
I see a wonderful bass there ❤
My favourite Sisters' song. This is fantastic.
Girls on bloody film! Hysterical. 😀
Really enjoyed watching all these - thank you!!!!!
beautiful
Hey, this guy is pretty good. He should join the Sisters of Mercy.
Wow, this was great. Thank you for recording and uploading it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool!
New Sister boot-Out takes.
Beautiful! I think they borrowed those arpeggios from "Dirt", off the Stooges second long player, "Fun House". Some Kind of Stranger is a masterpiece, nonetheless! Love it to death! Thank you for posting!
All my Gosh... I'm speechless. You can definitely tell he digs that song, and rightfully so! It's such a beautiful song and carefully and exquisitely put together. 👏👏👏
thank you for this
You're very welcome!
This is as pure and spiritual as guitar playing can get! Thank you for posting!
by god that night was fun
Fuc.....ing awesome. Thank you Gary, thank you @Mel Butler
cheers
Brilliant ! I wish I have seen original line up with Gary, Wayne and Craig (yes I know, Ben Gunn was earlier than Wayne) but this classic for me.
Brilliant! Thanks for posting.
This is so heartwarming to see❤️❤️❤️
It really is!
Like for REAL... MIGHT HAVE EVEN GOTTEN A BIT DUSTY
Dear lord YES YES❤️❤️… im 18 again in my room. Feeling the music, the youthfull despair and love. This track is an absolute milestone in my life, and will never grow old. And then THE maestro does this… i absolutely LOVE it. Thank You Sir Marx❤️ 😊
That was intense. Always one of my favourite Sisters songs.
This is the best thing happend to the legend of the Sisters of mercy since ‘85 - LOVE it❤️❤️ Thank you Gary - for the music and the story❤️
Legend❤️
