Fantastic!
This song has always reminded me of the coming spring. Perfect for the short dreary days here in Seattle Thanks Joe
Very nice
Hope you had a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year 😊
Really nice Joe! And the 7-string sounds beautiful. 👍👏👏

Hi Joe! I was wondering what model of guitar you are playing in this video? It's very beautiful and sounds so nice! Many thanks.
Hi there - I'm glad you like it - it's an Ibanez AF207 7 string. All the best.

Aquí estoy pasando una hermosa tarde en calma, producto la tan sensible y extraordinaria forma de tocar que tienes. Abrazo desde San Luis, Argentina.
Beautiful song, beautifully played.
So so good 🙏
what are those beautiful crunchy notes
The dreaded butter notes, Miles Davis' worst enemy. No doubt about that
Beautiful played

Nice one Joe! 👍👍👏👏
Great playing, and great piece of music 👍🏻
すばらしい!
Hallo Joe, that was great my dear friend … I love this music and you did an amazing job ! 👍👍 BIG like 33 I wish you a happy Sunday ... Fons.
Great stuff Joe! you got nice results with mic-ing this arch top..sometimes I rather do that myself instead of relying on direct recording..problem is I have a lot of noise where I live lol.
Thank you - I've just been listening to your sound - it's amazing!
Very nice 😁
Beautiful, sensitive playing. Bravo Joe!
Lovely Joe! 👏👏👏👏

Flawless as ever. Do you have any plans to release anything? I would buy it in a second!🙏
Thank you Mark! No plans just yet but you'll be the first to know :)
Très joli ! Bravo 👍
Superb as always my friend!
hermoso!
Love those crunchy tritones in the lower register.
Very nice!
Love this song Joe you play it so well will try to learn it!
Isn't it a great one. I did a rather complicated arrangement of it when much younger but this time just went for simplicity :)
Beautiful as ever, and thanks for the arranging tips
keep going brother!!
Very nice playing 👍🏻
One of my fav song! Great playing as always my friend!! Cheers!
A very nice arrangement of a great tune. Just curious - are you putting these arrangements together yourself? If so, do you have any recommendations for books covering this sort of arranging, for guitar? Thanks.
Thanks! I don't have any book recommendations for arranging. I do however have two very specific things I have done in recent years, which might help: 1) Choose the best 3 notes in chords and play only those 2) Practice inversions of chords (using 3 note chords) If you do that then a melody note will nearly always have a chord available, and that chord will be playable because you're playing less notes.
@@joefieldsolojazzguitar Thanks for he pointers. For the last year I've been buying sheet music - piano arrangements of single songs from back in the day. They're well written songs, great chords, and I'm then trying to come up with an arrangement. Recently got a good book by Tim Lerch which covers shapes for different types of chord, with a specific note as the highest note (not a or b, but root, 3rd etc) so you cansort out the melody. Tim's a GIT man from early 80s and took lessons from Ted Greene. I figure this way, the worst that will happen is I end up with an arrangement, that I put together, for a nice tune. Great stuff to play on your own. As corny as it sounds, I'm working on White Christmas including the intro nobody ever hears. I don't know when the sheet music was printed but it cost 1/-, and is "Authorised for sale only in the British Empire". Are you a working musician, do you gig much?
Sounds like a great plan - I haven't heard the intro to White Christmas! Right now I have a full time job doing something quite different to playing guitar but yes, I have spent lots of time as a working musician and still do gigs from time time to time :)
Which amp was this? How does your Henriksen amp compare to others you've played?
Hi - this was a direct line combined with a mic - so no amp (my usual recording setup). But as to the Henriksen Bud 10 - fantastic! Relatively lightweight and a beautiful live sound which is quite similar to my recorded sound. I highly recommend them.
