For this one, we only took the tender boat to the shore. The tour around the town/city was not from RC as we didn't plan ahead of time on this one. We just happened to be with a group that found a deal to hire a van and take us around :)

Yes, this is the RC Excursion! Booked it through their phone app so not too sure what's the maximum (I guess until it says sold out, you can book it). They have multiple sets of groups and busses, so yes, you do go in a bus full of people during your tour.

Can't remember exactly if it was 6.5hrs but we purchased the tour from RCL (through the Royal App)

For us, cable cars weren’t that bad. From tether boat to cable car to top of island only took us 35 min, but we were in group 1. Some of our friends who didn’t get up in time to get tickets, ended up in group 5, and they had a 2 hr wait. They ended up just walking the dock because there wasn’t enough time to see anything else. I over heard a few folks at dinner saying they weren’t even allowed to leave the ship because it was taking too long. RC said they were going to give out tether tickets at 7am, we got up there at 5:45. By 7am, the line was already ridiculous. Problem was, RC said they would start calling tickets at 9. Well at 8:15, they called groups 1,2&3 simultaneously. Smh. So it almost negated the fact that we were 3rd in line to get tickets, because the process to board tether boats wasn’t organized well. But that was the case for most of Greece/Rome. There are no true lines, people just crowd around line a mosh pit and try to squeeze in. Regardless of when the my got in line

Oh yes, some days were rocky (but not like those scary ones you might have seen on social media). It's tolerable for us but some do get motion sickness. When the ship expects a lot of motion, they put out paper bags by the stairs and other places. I believe you can get some medicine too from their health center but I would say best practice is to just bring your own motion sickness patch (my sister always brings a pack and there's always at least 2 people that would ask her for one everytime we go haha)

Thank you! It was great when we went, a bit windy for that one day. We personally can handle the ship movements but if you get seasick very easily, we always suggest to friends and family to get a motion sickness patch. The weather from our ports during that time was very very hot!! A handheld/portable personal fan would be great when you're out during port days!

usually they announce the time you dock and the time you need to be back on the ship just the day before. Your cabin attendant will also remind you if ever :) I'm sure you will have time as we did when we went! we were going around Fira before finding a van that our group negotiated for price. Just communicate with your driver to make sure to get you back hours before the ship's call time :D

Not sure if it would be different for each time you go but when we went, you just have to grab a ticket (first come first serve, and not part of an excursion). They usually annouce what time the ship will arrive at the port and the time tender boats are available/when they will hand out numbered tickets :) I believe you will have time to explore on your own time if that is what you choose to do!

Heard also like to know, about how long does it take to tender over to Santorini from the ship?

@@jboenker123 didn't take that long, maybe like 10-15mins to tender between the ship and the port if I remember it correctly

It's complimentary from the cruise! We just had to get a (numbered) ticket to get a scheduled time going to the port since there's a lot of passengers.

@@siddharthgupta2715 they usually announce (prior to leaving the ship) and give you an idea of the last tender boat. From our experience, the tender boats were at the same place from where we got dropped off which was walking distance to the cable cars :)

Please don’t, it’s torture for them. They are abused, full of scars, given little to no water, poor babies. I walked up and down once and was exhausted, these babies are forced to do it all day. I just want to cry for them 😢

The cruise port was in Civitavecchia (Rome). From our airbnb, we walked and rolled down our luggages all the way down to "Autorità Portuale". From there you will see people awaiting for their cruise. You have to walk a bit further towards "Port of Civitavecchia bustling seaport & cruise terminal" (name of place in google) by E840 road and from there take a bus that drops you to your specific cruise line port. I'll try to find our video of this but hope this helps a little bit.

@@marinamattleman1136 If you're staying from Rome, you can hire on expedia or other booking website a private van to bring you straight to Civitavecchia port also. What we did was take the train from Fumicino Airport to Civitavecchia, stayed there for the night and next day get on the cruise. Coming back from the cruise, we then stayed in Rome for a couple days before flying back :)

@@ralphgreen2218 Oh I see. Well my entire experience from all of the 3 cruises I've been on this year have only been nothing but amazing! I don't think a particular ethnicity would cause me to be annoyed, I just don't see it that way! That's for me at least! I find that the service in cruiseships goes above and beyond.

Really love them girl, haha Ron made me climb a shortcut (off the trail), I was literally in all 4's with my hands on wet soil/rock/tree stems & roots haha that kind of a climb, and I wouldn't be able to do it if the grip of the shoes didn't give me confidence hahah! Also, I'm scared of slipping off a cliff on a narrow trail -- haha ask mo si Clair about that one 🙈 but that's how much these shoes were so good haha
