Hi Chris would it be possible to organise a meet and greet a lot of my mates and I would be really keen!! Could do it in plenty of spots around Forster even if you do a giveaway there too or show us some tips and get photos etc. would be really good mate as a lot of the town loves you and holiday people coming here because of you too would have a chance to meet you!
Hey mate, looking at doing something mid January, just need to figure out the exact dates and location but will let everyone know when it's confirmed
Nice 1 Chris I've had a few off that bank in the kayak wasn't aware you can walk to it, but looking at the end of the video i guess you can . Have look on fosster tuncurry fishing i got a nice 85 the othr day.
You can walk across, does require a bit of wading but is a pretty nice way to cool off in the summer. Cracking fish as well mate, not much beats catching a big Flatty on a surface lure
And I thought I was lucky with a 53cm on 10 lb 😮 nice one!
Thanks mate! A 53cm is still a solid fish on 10lb
@11:00 why winch?
It's a saying about just trying to drag something up. I didn't bring a net so would have had to try and land it by sliding it up the bank
St George's Basin?A d well done☺️
Forster - About 4 hours north of Sydney. And thank you
How do you get over to that spot? Walk over at low tide?
Can go over throughout, you'll just stay a bit drier during low tide. But you will still need to wade some sections
@ thanks mate
Good gob
Thanks mate
New sub here mate 🎉Just stumbled across your page. Love the content 🤙🏽 I have a channel also if your interested
Cheers mate, I'll check out your channel as well 🤙
Just wondering what fish are about in Forster at the moment around December-January and what spots are good/best also how has Forster keys been for fishing recently.Any good spots At the moment for bigger pelagic fish such as kingfish and salmon land based that is safe to go without a life jacket. Has beach fishing been good ?
The keys has been producing reasonable numbers of flathead in the 30-40cm mark. Breakwall is fishing really well for bigger flatties and will be your best bet for any pelagics land based. Beaches have been a bit of a miss, only scoring the odd undersized Mulloway and Tailor. Hopefully the southerly we are getting will start firing it up
What combos are you running
Main rock combo was a 9'6" Penn prevail 10-15kg and a 10k twin power with 30lb braid. Estuary combo was a Shimano zodiac 2-5lb and vanford 2500 with 15lb braid I also have a video from a month ago where I go in depth in my set ups and what / when I use certain things
Nice! was there a couple weeks ago and got a couple kings :)
Nice job mate! Looks like a good spot to target them that's for sure
Location looks great, very good spot for relaxed fishing.
It's a great spot to get away from people and enjoy nature
You are so entertaining mate. You are a producer and I love it. Look at your subs going nuts you’re the future of fishing and TH-cam. It won’t be long until the other TH-camrs start looking to your success. The consistency of uploads and the quality of fish still being caught is extraordinary. You’re a fishing tutor.
Thanks for the kind words mate
Can you please do the meet and greet? Now it’s school holiday time would be great even if you bring some lures too and just have a gathering to meet you somewhere around Forster?
Ill look at doing something in January 👍
My cousin bought some of your lures and let me use one yesterday and I caught my first flatty (also first lure catch) and now I’m hooked on your videos bc they are amazing!
That's awesome mate, congrats on your first lure catch
@ thanks! Ive also been tryna get into making fishing videos just gotta save up, but it’s nice to see a fishing TH-camr from the town I live in, always great to see small creators and support them!
Hi mate where did you launch looks good
This is magpie Creek boat ramp.
Hi tried to get in magpie creek today don't know when you went in last but trees are down and the track is well overgrown tks for the information shame as i was looking to fish it over Xmas till the crowds calm down. I'll send a screen shot of how far I got have a great Christmas
You need to take magpie Creek trail. There's a few different inroads and some are terrible. As for fallen trees, they may be trees / branches across the road after all the wind. I often have to clear the road before I can get to the water
Got in tks I was on the wrong track maybe catch in the new year
I was thinking it's good to see so many fishing videos recently with long sleeves and other sun protection. I was really hoping one of you would talk about sun safety and literally 10 seconds later you start talking about it. Good job (and great videos).
Cheers mate, it's something I try to be mindful of when I'm out on the water.
40 pounds is that what he said?
40cms - length of the fish instead of weight
Awesome video! Parents live up there, travel and fish the area as much as I can. Would love to try out the lures.
Thanks mate, it sure is a great area to fish
These look awesome mate! Great job. Love seeing your whole process, stuff ups and all. Keep it up.
Thanks mate
Awesome video Chris. I saw a guy land a 96cm flathead there the other day right where you were fishing. He got it on a jerk shad.
this the third video iv seen on these prawn lures with the assist hook on the back . might be a different brawn tho . they seem very good but the price on them is hefty for one single prawn .
They definitely work. But they are on the more expensive side and didn't seem overly durable
Hey mate good to see another vid. If you can try getting more content up would be sick.
Thanks mate, I'm planning on cranking out more content soon!
Awesome video Chris. Love your plastics I’ve been doing pretty good with them. Definitely hit up Luke from Great Lakes tackle!
Cheers mate, glad to hear they're working for you!
You are just so captivating Chris. By far the most talented producer I have seen on TH-cam. Definitely starting to hear your name getting around a bit and I think that’s due to consistency and professionalism. Well done young man.
Thanks heaps for the kind words, really appreciate it!
Looks the goods. Liking the colours that are like nippers.
Thanks mate, I'm stoked with how those turned out!
Im no fish but them orange tail grubs look mighty snackish
Had to stop myself from taking a bite as well 😂
Good job looks hectic
Thanks mate!
Love your work champion both on the water and in the shed. However, mate, I'd be covering my feet when dealing with molten plastics, just a thought. Also, I live in Forster Tuncurry and believe I can buy some of your Soft Plastics, where can I purchase these?
You can buy them at Forster Sport and Tackle, or click the online shop on my TH-cam account
Good job mate they look killer 👏
Thanks mate, super happy with how they turned out
Great effort!
Cheers mate
sick vid dude
Thanks mate
Chris you are really starting to branch out. Look at those subs grow, well done young sir. Your outgoing energy is contagious. I find myself leaning towards the screen with you you are very luring.
Thanks mate, really appreciate the kind words
Thanks so much for showing me the technique you use to maintain a strong grip on the flatties. Definitely helped to see you perform it. Thanks mate definitely will be using that technique more.
No worries mate, hope it helped
I think i worked out your issue. You were winding into the fish and not really striking to set the hook gd.its a little hard when using prawn lures to do so as you need to mimick a fleeing prawn however when that initial hit comes strike first then start winding again
I think you hit the nail on the head, I started focusing more on the hook set and suddenly the rate I dropped fish lowered
Hey Chris well done, definitely found a really healthy congregation of flathead. Pretty amazing how easy you make it look, not many people achieve what you do from such a simple yet affective water craft. You are definitely a danger man in this comp, really hope your next thumbnail is I WON THE COMP! Cheers bruv
Thanks mate, definitely gave us a bit of confidence that we would be able to find some fish in the competition. There are definitely days I don't make it look easy on the water 😂
Hey mate love the videos where do you hear about all the contests? Really wanna enter one with some mates
Heard about this one on Facebook, the company (East Coast Sports Fishing) do a bunch up and down the coast. Otherwise most will do some sort of advertising on the standard Forster fishing pages etc
@ cheers mate might have to sign up
The organiser said he was looking at putting another one on in the middle of Feb at Forster 🤙
Alot of cool competitions going on around . Nice to see everyone getting around it
Definitely a fun / different way to go and fish for a day
Very informative video 👍🏼Trout are a great species to target. We mostly target brook trout up here in Maine. The kids want to know what species of trout you catch and how big your pb is? Love and guidance 🇺🇸 🙏🏻
We fish for brown, rainbow or if lucky tiger trout. PB is only a 42cm rainbow (16") most of the trout around here are fingerlings, but occasionally get lucky with something bigger. What's yours and the kids biggest brooky? They look like an awesome species to chase
@ my biggest Brooky is 24”. Tylers is 16 and a half inches and Nathans is 19”. I’m still chasing that 30”+
24" is a cracking good brooky, I can only imagine how much pull a 30+ model would have
Interesting video. Thanks for the rundown on your rigs. But no Alvey setups for chasing tailor and other fish off the beach?
Most of my beach fishing is done as either spinning or dropping out big baits and prefer my bigger spin reels for that. If I look at getting a proper dedicated beach set up I'll look into alveys or a smaller overhead
Interesting video Chris. Would love it if you could pump out more videos like twice a week if possible even if it’s got no fish doesn’t matter just want a heap of content aye. I think some other ideas could be: - Lures you use - Tides you fish - car set up (rig run down) - kayak set up - daily life kinda vlog stuff - chaising more waterfalls - how to tie knots - how to hold fish properly - releasing fish / dehooking fish - how to find new spots - fishing challenges! - live streams - collabs with other TH-camrs just hit them all up would be so good!!!! Anyways bro would be unreal and untaimed if you could set a trail a long these ides and smash them all. ;)
Thanks for the suggestions, some awesome ideas in there!
For the first 30 secs of the video if you put some rap music with it your actions would definitely go with it. I love how extravagant you can be with your body movements it’s actually really entertaining the way you lure us in to the screen you are an incredible talent sir.
Thanks so much for the kind words, maybe I've missed my true calling as an air guitar rap battle soloist 😂
Presentation ✅ Information✅ Unique✅ Professional✅ Educational✅ Untaimed!👍✅ Likeable✅ Friendly✅ Exciting✅ No fish❌ Great vid mate only lost one mark for no fish aha.
Hahaha thanks mate, I'll take a 9/10 score any day 😂
Awesome video Chris, you should come down to the racks for a fish at Forster with me and my friends. We’d love to meet you. I’ve been wanting to go into bcf for ages but I don’t have my license yet to get there so usually go to Luke as he is a lot closer and has awesome gear of course. Definitely worth hitting him up with your lures he reckons they would go well too!
Sounds like a good time, might have to get down there with you guys sometime soon!
Great vid mate just what I need on a Saturday morning.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for another episode Chris! Really liked seeing all your combos. It’s good to learn more about what to use for what fish too. I love your presentation too it is very captivating. I think going down the road of how to videos are a very good path. So many things you can dive into as well. Cheers
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the video
Hi matey. Thanks again for consistent uploads, at least someone is pumping them out. You should do a meet and greet soon it would be cool to see who you have actually got watch in you as I know you have got quite the fan base now. I would definitely like to come met you and learn from you. Even taking subs out on your adventures would be so cool. How do you hold the Jewies and flathead so we’ll still can’t understand how you do it man… definitely need to get that segment of handling of fish up we definitely all would greatly benefit from it. Cheers mate. Davo.
Thanks mate, next decent flatty I catch I'll go in depth on how I handle them. Never thought of doing a meet and greet, might look at doing something over the school holidays if enough people are interested
Your videos keep coming up in my recommended. The family loves watching your videos! Love from the US
Thanks for the kind words, glad you're enjoying the videos
Loving the upload consistency. They pull so hard even at that size! Do you think you could do a video where you run through all your rod and reels?
Great idea, I'll look at doing one very soon
I’m an untaimed trail addict. Definitely travelling to Forster to see you. When do ya work next bro?
I'm working today and tomorrow 🤙
