I have started my own product photography business but am finding it hard to get clients, nobody wants to pay do you have any tips on how to quote for shoots and what would be best to charge for beginners with a small portfolio. Thank you :)
Hello :) quoting a shooting depending on so many factors as the place you are based, your experience, your skills, how much time do you spend on each project etc... what I suggest to you is making a market research about product photography in your city or country and finding out how much your competitors charge for a shooting (of course, competitors of the same level as you). At the same time focus more on improving your photography skills, (technique, lighting, styling) studying, showing your work (or personal projects) and you'll see that clients will come to you then 😊

Have you ever had the client start taking all the photos with an iphone? She was even shooting with an iphone over my shoulder! What would you do? I feel like she was trying to shoot as much as she could so she wouldn't have to order as much photos from me. Thankfully I was paid the flat flee that included photos (up to 40 photos, I know I can't believe I said she could have that many included for the price.)
